I was 10st 1 on December 23rd. I weighed this morning and I'm 10stone EIGHT. Half a stone in under a week! I didn't even go that mad!

Have you weighed yet and if so, was it good news or bad news?

This time last year I was 9stone 7. :( It took me so much effort to get to that weight and I loved it. Now I have to do it all over again. Sigh. :(

Not a bloody hope my friend. I am re-starting low carbing (very strictly) on the 7th, I am not going anywhere near the scales until then! I have a lot more to lose than you, now even more - hey ho.

HoneyandRum · 29/12/2013 13:50

But you did it and you can do it again! I did some of the same in the last year but this time am determined to keep it off. If you're 40+ join us on the other thread as we gear up for '14. Smile

gaggiagirl · 29/12/2013 13:56

I was 8st 4 on the 21st of December.
Im 8st 6 this morning. Feel rubbish and look bloated.

I just had soup and Ferrero Rocher for lunch today. I can't seem to stop eating!

CooEeeEldridge · 29/12/2013 13:56

I'm a half stoner too! Scary what the combination of not excersising normally and crazy food does to you! Hoping it'll drop off in next couple of weeks when get back to normal routine though, did the same on holiday! Blush

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:01

Ooh yes I'm 40+! Never been pleased about that before. :) Which other thread? Would love some weightless buddies.

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:02

Chipping -- why on the 7th? Is that when the kids go back to school and life returns to normal?

OP posts:
AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:03

Gaggiagirl -- I can't stop eating either! :( But at least you've only gained 2lbs. Let's be honest, one good poo will shift that.

High-fives CooEee, the fellow hakf-stoner! Yikes, that made my upper arms shudder terrifyingly.

On Monday am I was 9st 13 (yayyyy!); weighed over the Christmas pudge and I was about 10st 2... fasted yesterday (doing 5:2 but lapsed over Christmas) and last night I was 9st 13 again so I am pretty pleased.

Not lost any this week but just about stayed the same.

Did anyone else find that they were totally bloated out by eating a lot of food tho? I actually felt sick most of Christmas afternoon and Boxing Day due to too big a meal, and eating chocs/pudding/pringles for the first time in weeks. Just shows that eating less is actually better for you :)

HoneyandRum · 29/12/2013 14:14

AnuvvaMuvva the thread is "Age 40+ and looking to lose weight improve fitness in 2014" - catchy isn't it? Grin sorry don't know how to link to thread. Trying to gather like minds for a major rehaul this year.

And I sound exactly like you, tried mfp and went down from 10 stone 8lbs to 10 stone 1 and put it back on as soon as I took my eye off the ball.

Not this time! I need to gets seriously in shape!

Love the "one good poo will shift it"!

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:15

That's awesome - well done!

Yes to feeling bloated. My stomach looks like it's someone else's and has just been strapped to my body. It's the booze that got me, plus the stodgy stuff like Christmas cake, pudding, and stuffing. I can't do wheat.

Anyone here read the Blood Group Diet? I'm an O and he said we can't handle grains. They make us bloat and feel sleepy. That's definitely true for me.

CooEeeEldridge · 29/12/2013 14:16

I weighed myself after a poo and a 5 mile run - solid half stone! (Note I'm not thinking about what is have been if I'd weighed before that...la la la la laa)

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:17

Honeyandrum - I found your thread and I'm in! :) Feel better already.

I'll drag the rowing machine out from behind the sofa Blush later.

I'd have thought it was impossible to gain 7lbs in a week - if we both hadn't managed it so effortlessly!

OP posts:
chocolatespiders · 29/12/2013 14:18

Got weighed yesterday and I gained 4 pound. Can't seem to get back on track.

cryhavoc · 29/12/2013 14:18

I weighed myself on Boxing Day and I was horrified. I don't weigh regularly, but my jeans were tight and I feel podgy. Have been for a run this morning, and will be looking to join in a thread for fitness/weightloss in the new year as soon as the cheese and wine run out.

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:21

4lbs? Pfft. Amateur! Wink I'd be quite pleased at 4lbs.

When do the papers/TV start running diet features? That's when I always feel inspired to get fit again. Feeling like the rest of the UK are doing it with me.

OP posts:
CooEeeEldridge · 29/12/2013 14:21

I know, I was half expecting it as I'd done it on hols too, so I don't feel that bad! It did go v quick after then so in hoping (praying) same will happen again! Just crossing fingers lovely new nye dress still fits!!!!

AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:21

Cryhavoc, my jeans are agony. I told myself it was because my mum tumbled-dried them... But it's not.

OP posts:
AnuvvaMuvva · 29/12/2013 14:23

I'm sure the dress will fit! I find a stone equals roughly one dress size. So you should be ok.

You have 2 days to drink water and lay off bread in an attempt to flatten your tummy?

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/12/2013 14:28

I weighed myself Saturday after a fast day to find a 2lb gain, weighed myself this morning a whole day later and it's goneXmas Hmm Anyway, I'm ignoring yesterday's blip and that means I've stayed the same. I have continued doing 5:2 but eaten more that I usually would on normal days!

Most of your weight gain will be undigested food and bloating! A few days better eating will sort you out I'm sure!

I've managed to continue running over the holidays but my eating has deteriorated very quickly and I find myself craving sweets I don't normally miss! Last night I had to work really hard not to dive into the sweet bowl. I'd already eaten a curry and was so not hungry but the munchies are definitely there. I do hate how addictive sugar is!!

Methe · 29/12/2013 14:32

No way! I feel like I've put on a fair bit so I am starting the jan boot camp.

Until then I'm not going to torture myself.

gaggiagirl · 29/12/2013 14:37

I have still exercised daily over the festive season. I have never felt hungry because my house is full of crappy foods I can't leave alone.
Last nights binge was cheese filled, breaded jalepenos with dip. Yum yum bloated tum.

sydlexic · 29/12/2013 14:42

I lost 3.5lbs. The method is not to be recommended, it involves a lot of running to the bathroom.
