I was 10st 1 on December 23rd. I weighed this morning and I'm 10stone EIGHT. Half a stone in under a week! I didn't even go that mad!

Have you weighed yet and if so, was it good news or bad news?

Anuvva - yep - small people back at school on the 7th (& we're going out on the 6th). Low carbing is not forgiving, it's an all or nothing routine so there's no point in stopping and starting all the time and being a non egg eating vegetarian, low carb eating while out and about is hard work. It also means I have to give up my lattes again and the first few days without (not too keen on it black or with cream) I'm not much fun to be around so best no little people have to witness it Xmas Grin

Exercise - hmm, I've played board games, moved the remote around and done lots of stretching on the couch, I've done OK with that not

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 29/12/2013 14:52

syd - sorry you have had such a crap terrible time :( Hope you are feeling better now?

clary · 29/12/2013 16:32

Think of it this way - it only took a few days to put it on, so a few days of eating sensibly and it will drop off again! :)

Loving your theory clary, definitely not weighing again until few days of normality!!

JemimaMuddledUp · 29/12/2013 16:45

I haven't dared weigh myself yet, but my jeans are feeling tight. I feel like a sloth and have started eating more sensibly again plus went for a power walk this morning before I turn into a character from Wall-E.

clary · 29/12/2013 17:52

Gonna fast again tomorrow as have had slothful day apart from early swim - been trying to get work done (teacher) and the rocky road/brownies/cold chicken and salsa have just been calling out to me Blush

NameoftheRose · 29/12/2013 17:55

A bout of norovirus put paid to any weight gain I may have made over Christmas.

Works a treat Sad

AnuvvaMuvva · 30/12/2013 11:28

I weighed again this morning and am down to 10 stone 4. Yesterday I ate alllllllll day, but had bought healthy stuff so it was all salad, fruit, prawns and chicken. One bag of crisps Blush but only Squares. A bit of chocolate, oh and perhaps maybe a mince pie...

Today I'll be even better. Hopefully I'll be back to 10st 1 soon, and can tackle the remaining 8lbs in January.

Anyone else weighed???

8st6 today on the scales in Boots, up a pound from last week, but have all in all gained the 8 pounds that I lost earlier in the year. Give away is a pair of trousers that I use as a barometer, which feel and look very tight at the moment. Have decided just to cut down a bit, know if I tell myself I am on a diet or cut out treats completely I will feel starving. So far today:

2 pieces of granary toast with marmalade
Bowl of Lentil and veg soup, half a slice of cheese on toast
3 biscuits

Planning on Jamaican Chicken with rice for tea with some salad. Will be very pleased if I manage to leave it at that. Know tomorrow will not be so good as its NYE, but will try and do the best I can during the day.

mumtosome61 · 30/12/2013 16:15

I dare not - I am sure I will feel even more vile than I do already - I'm convinced I am due on but I keep using that excuse (I have irregular periods).

My only comfort (although I shouldn't dine out on it) is that I lost 7 stone this year; even if I have gained a stone in 3 months. I've not been eating anywhere near as good as I was, and gym has been very lapsed. I intended going today but I got stuck cleaning the house.

Ugh...I'm going to have to weigh myself now to put myself out of almost-certain-misery.

mumtosome61 · 30/12/2013 16:23

Ughh.....how much weight gain does period bloat cause? I was 14st 11lbs when we moved in here at the start of September - I'm now 15st 11lbs. Hmm

AnuvvaMuvva · 30/12/2013 18:45

Oh no - you were right about gaining a stone in 3 months!

Losing seven stone is INCREDIBLE though! You must feel SO great about that! Don't lets lose sight of that massive loss!! How did you lose all that?

OP posts:
AnuvvaMuvva · 30/12/2013 18:46

Today I've eaten a healthy lunch... then one of the massive bags of Wotsits (about 450 cals), TWO Taxi bars, and TWO Rocky chocolate biscuit things.

I had a panic thread a while back as i seemed to have gained 5lbs over a weekend..was advised to eat very sensibly for a couple of days and weigh again...indeed it had all gone! So..no panic..eat very sensibly for a few days and bingo...simples!

Howstricks · 30/12/2013 18:58

And yes..I too seem to have gained 7lbs in 7 days so i'm very much hoping my theory works!!!

BsshBossh · 30/12/2013 20:23

Yes I weighed pre- and post-Christmas and had lost 1 lb. But I wasn't surprised really cause I do 5:2 and had still managed to fast on the Monday and Friday of Christmas week, which obviously mitigated against all the indulgent festive eating I enjoyed.

BsshBossh · 30/12/2013 20:25

Most of the weight gain people will have experienced will have been water and undigested food. It'll come off in no time people!

Mazzledazzle · 30/12/2013 20:50

I put on 6lb in three days! To my shame, drank from morning until night on Christmas Day, yet felt stone cold sober. No doubt the ton of food ate soaked it all up.

Like Howstricks says though, if it goes on quick, it comes off quick and after three days of calorie counting/fasting I've lost all but 8oz of the 6lb.

Fingers crossed I'll have shifted it when I get on the scales tomorrow. Planing to feast NY Eve/Day though! So another dreaded weigh in after that then...

mumtosome61 · 30/12/2013 20:57

Well, the weight loss is now just under six stone AnuvvaMuvva but it hit over seven stone - I got down to 14st 2lbs in July. Then I got a bit carried away with the excess of summer.

I did it by having a nervous breakdown (not advisable) and going completely off food, before reintroducing it but much, much healthier. I started off walking, then going to the gym and by the end of September I was able to run for around 5 minutes.

It really did come off a bit too quick, which is probably why I've been lax in getting back to it - I know I can do it, and I know I could probably get down to about 13st (12st was my goal, I'm tall and broad) and be happy. I don't look right skinny. But yes - it did me the world of good mentally and physically :)

mumtosome61 · 30/12/2013 20:59

Oh, to add to that msg above - I used myfitnesspal, tracked everyday without fail and never denied myself anything. I'm firmly in the "no diet" camp - after years of club and diet plans I just went solo and devised a high-protein/low-carb/no sugar type plan that I really enjoyed. I ate more sweet potatoes than I care to count...

I did a half cardio/half weights plan at the gym which worked wonders - I'd regularly lose 3-4lbs a week and wasn't what I call "skinny fat" - ie I was quite defined although I've lost definition now.

McPie · 02/01/2014 17:39

Put 6lb on in December Blush, between cancelled classes, sickness and Christmas it's been a nightmare for me.
I am back on it now and have decided to drop sugar and alcohol for January as I need to get the 6lb off before I go to the nurse at the end of the month for my 6 month weigh in!
Classes start back up on Monday but I will be in the gym by 10am tomorrow (as well as Saturday and Sunday), not sure what I will be doing as it all depends on how busy it is, weights and cardio would be my 1st choice but I may have to do my circuits instead.

perplexedpirate · 02/01/2014 17:42

5lbs on here. Sad
I've only had about 700 calories today though, to try and make up for it. Cos that'll work, right??

QuicheDodger · 02/01/2014 20:37

Indulged, but also did a LOT of running to try and limit damage. Put on half a pound over the festive period which is a result for me - always been a lot more in previous years! Still got a stone to lose so want to get back to losses now.

Cheesyslice · 02/01/2014 21:05

I put on four lbs even after a good poo Hmm

However, a few days of being good and drinking shitloads of water (eugh) and it's gone, plus another half a pound. That or my scales are fucked.
