2014 - it's my year .....whose with me??

Right there is no denying it - I am very overweight/obese by BMI charts. I have seen my weight gradually creep up over the past few years and I've now reached the tipping point where I stood on the scales and actually cried Sad

So from now, no more excuses, no hiding behind "it's Xmas/birthday",no lying about my weight to hide the shame. No "I've just has a baby" excuse now the youngest is 8months.

Here goes:

I am 5ft 5in and today weigh 15st 4lb. I somehow wear size 16 (promise not crammed in!) with alright legs, huge butt (always has been!), fat tummy and large boobs.

I would like to lose at least 4st and feel more energetic for my kids :)

Whose with me??!!!

Hi,

can I join too please. I started off last year at 14st 3.5lb and lost 2st with Rosemary Conley. Then I started teaching in the evenings and between that, all the training/reading/planning I had to do and the kids coming down with one bug after another I haven't been able to get to class or do any exercise. I've been tired and eating at funny times and found it hard to eat healthily - the result is I have put 7lb back on :(

The good news is I feel organised and really ready to get back on with it. I have started using myfitnesspal and today I did the first run from the C25k. Just hoping I can stick with it when DP goes back to work and my classes start again - could do with some encouragement and the odd kick up the a* so this thread will be fab. Good luck to us all xx

Hi to all the newcomers :)

mrsballack that's wonderful news te the toddlers! I expect the weight will fall off with two to run around after! Mind you my youngest two are 18months and 8months and I've still found time to gain weight Hmm

Today I had my usual roast (be rude not too) but used a child

Ooooopsnposted too soon!

I used a child's plate so I knew my portion was smaller than normal and also timed my meal to pace myself. I know it sounds silly but generally im so busy I throw food down my throat and never register as having eaten and before I know it I'm hungry again.

Anyone tried drinking the ice cold glass water before eating? Does it work? Thinking of throwing that into te mix too!

Count me in please!!! Since the summer I've lost 2 stone but over Christmas I've gone mad and put on 5 pounds. To get into the normal range BMI I need to loose just over a stone but I would like to loose a stone and a half before the summer. That would get me down to 9.5 stone.

I want to start properly on 1 Jan. healthy eating and shred at the beginning. When I get my fitness levels up I'll see what other exercise I can do. Apart from the weight loss I also want to tone up for the summer, I'm going on a big family holiday.

TessTackle · 29/12/2013 19:14

I'm in! I'm 22, one DD aged 3 so no baby weight excuse. Last weighed 11.3 but that was before Christmas and I'm only 5'3.

I'd like to get down to 9 stone even.

TessTackle · 29/12/2013 19:18

Just checked my BMI and it's 28 Sad

I can't run (arthritis and dodgy ankle) but I will be taking long fast walks and using my mini trampoline until my ankle is better and then bak onto Tiffany Rothe workouts on YouTube.

FCEK · 29/12/2013 19:38

Me! Last year I lost 2 stone on weightwatchers taking me from 14 stone 1lb to 12stone 1lb. However since autumn it's been coming back on and I think I'm 12 stone 6lbs now. I want to be 11stone 7lbs (wedding weight).

I've been lapse with WW so I'm going to get back into it and exercise more from jan 1st.

Sylvana · 30/12/2013 22:16

Shit. Weighed myself today and I am 15st 7lbs :(. I put on another 3lbs over the weekend. Started my Lipotrim today so at least I've made a start. How is everyone else doing ?

TisTheSeasonToBeUnreasonable · 01/01/2014 08:40

Sorry for the absence am rather poorly Sad however this has meant I haven't devoured the selection packs the kids have left or the mass of cheese still lingering in the fridge until I made DH throw it away this morning!

Today I am weighing myself and also taking photos Blush oh the shame! because I'd like to see how I physically change as I know sometimes I lose a stone but look no different and other times the weight loss slows down yet the difference is noticeable in the mirror

I'm in. I have to do something before it's too late. I'm fat, 42 and astoundingly unfit. I use the car for everything and am sinking into my own blubber. No excuses now, that's it for me. This is the year I stop arsing about and sort myself out.

redmapleleaves · 01/01/2014 10:09

I'm in too. 47, lots of big life changes last year, and am nearly 5 stone overweight. I'm thinking about Couch to 5k too. Think exercise needs to be my way forward. Told DD last night I was going to lose weight and she reminded me this has been my ambition for last x years... But I have managed it before so hope this thread will give me the ongoing kick.

Vicky08 · 01/01/2014 12:09

Ok so I'm back and starting today. I haven't weighed myself because I'm at In laws so I'll do that tomorrow. So far today I haven't actually eaten anything because I feel rough after last night's celebrations but I can smell the lunch which FIL is cooking and I'm slowly getting hungry.

Lunch is roast pork with all the trimmings and then brownies. I'll just have some of the meat and veg and drink plenty of water. Passing on the brownies will be hard but it has to be done Hmm

Today I'll not do any exercise because later we'll be traveling home which is quite a journey and now I feel a bit delicate so I'll start on that tomorrow.

Vicky08 · 01/01/2014 12:13

TisTheSeasonToBeUnreasonable I hope you feel better soon.

mrsballack · 01/01/2014 12:17

I'm starting tomorrow as my parents go home then and I can get back into the normal routine.
I'm on stupidly early shifts this week which always make me eat loads as I'm so tired so not hoping for much this week.

Danceasifnooneswatching · 01/01/2014 13:18

I am in, lost 1 stone for my 40thin November and it now seems I have put it on plus some!!

I have got my slimming world books out and booked 3 spinning classes for next week and will drink 2litres of water a day plus walk the dog at least 2 miles a day!!

Will post weight in lbs
Today I am 168lb HmmHmm

noswingpark · 01/01/2014 14:23

Can I join you? I lost over 2st last year doing the 5:2 but slipped back into old habits. I got down to a size 10 and felt amazing. I feel like shit now and have piled loads on (too scared to weigh). But I'm going to do 2 weeks of slim&save then 5:2. I'm on the vlcd thread, but its very quiet and I really need the support of others.

Hi everyone, glad you are back and welcome newcomers! I had guessed you were all waiting until the New Year to make a proper start. I started on Monday because I'm off work for a week and I wanted to do the Lipotrim programme properly for the week as none of my work clothes fit me. I started on Monday at 15st 7 lbs and today I am 15st exactly. I've list 7 pounds in two days! I know most of that is probably water but I don't care, I feel so much lighter. I will be doing this for 8 weeks in total so I am hoping to lose 2.5 to 3 stone. I will then switch to low carb to lose the last stone and a half. My target is 11 stone - only 4 stone to go! I have a big family holiday to Florida in June so lots of motivation.

BearsInMotion · 01/01/2014 15:20

Am also in! Am also on the not-buying-clothes-for-a-year thread - my plan is to lose two stone and get back into my size 12 wardrobe! Am hoping to do something like the 5:2, but also just by cutting back on all the snacks and eating more healthily! Aim is for a lifestyle change rather than a fad diet... Have done it once before but slipped back into bad habits :(

noswingpark · 01/01/2014 15:44

Ooh I like the sound of the not buying clothes for a year thread! Where can I find it?

noswingpark · 01/01/2014 16:03

Sylvana that's amazing, well done. How much is lipotrim a week if you don't mind me asking?

TisTheSeasonToBeUnreasonable · 01/01/2014 16:06

Thanks! Feeling bit better already after some rest!

sylvana 7lb already?!! So jealous!!! Am def considering the Lipotrim just trying to justify the cost ...I think 7lb in 2days justifies it!!!!

If it helps I'm going to be updating regularly but specifically on a Monday morning when I shall post start weight/current weight etc just so I'm accountable and no excuses!

Here you go noswingpark!

What's Lipotrim?

Sylvana · 01/01/2014 17:25

Here is a link for Lipotrim:

www.lipotrim.co.uk/

I am in Dublin so it costs me €65 for a week's supply, so I guess the price would be £50-£55 for you. Participating Pharmacies run the programme so check the website for a list of pharmacies near you who do it. It is the usual food replacement programme e.g. choice of 3 x shakes and chicken soup. There are flap jakes too but I don't think you can have these for the first week or so. Just a warning though. On your first consultation with the Pharmacy, they ask all the usual medical questions and if you use IUD contraception. You cannot go on the programme if you have a coil device in place (or similar) because your body changes so much the device could shift and you could become pregnant (I think that is the reason anyway). So just bear that in mind. If you are thinking of doing it.
