Hello quiche avoiders Wink

Lovely shiny new thread- we are a talkative bunch!

First Thread

Second Thread

To be a quiche avoider you must
-have a considerable amount of weight to lose
-be serious about wanting to lose it
-give other members a virtual kick up the arse when needed
-weigh in with us on a Wednesday (or if you weigh in on another day, post your results on a wednesday)

So roll up, jump in and lets lose lbs! and if you are having a moment of weakness just remember... what would clarinet do Wink

Reastie just tried that global thingy and I am most like someone from the United StatesSad I have never felt so insulted in my life. It could of given me Jamaica instead.

Still losing lbs as still not eating full portions. Got a busy week this week so hope the appetite picks up or I won't have the energy to keep going

Reastie · 10/11/2013 14:58

debs well that should give you motivated to lose a bit so you are no longer the same as USA! Just a tiny loss and you'd be on Saudi Arabia. First time I did it I was fatter than Tonga, now I'm apparently Kyrgyzstan wherever that is Blush

LottieDidIt · 10/11/2013 15:41

Hello to laurely and Guineapig99 its really nice to have lots of new people joining this weight loss journey Smile

clarinet thanks for your kind words of wisdom Thanks I think I am back in the right mind set today (phew!). Yesterday started off ok but then it was my nieces party and I had a good few nibbles and a massive slice of cake. However I just left it at that and had my calorie counted tea as planned instead of thinking oh well I've gone off track so I may as well have a blow out and order a takeaway and countless bars of chocolate. So it wasn't great but it could have been worse! Birding and IsThat I hope you are getting back on track too Smile

Reastie I have just done the global weight loss and I have gone from Tongan to... oh still bloody Tongan Grin oh well at least it showed me by BMI had dropped so that's good! Smile

Sirzy · 10/11/2013 16:09

I started on Tongan and I am now from Kuwait apparently!

Sirzy · 10/11/2013 16:10

I have had quite a good weekend, between parade this morning and a family walk this afternoon I have probably done about 4 miles walking today and got lots of veg for with my roast tonight.

moonshine · 10/11/2013 18:58

Hello all. I've been reading several threads open-mouthed these past few days - the level of both casual & blatant 'fat-bashing' seems to have reached new heights on MN.

I still haven't fond my groove, as someone as so nicely already put it. Promise to try harder and will now read thread properly to gain some inspiration.

Good luck for this week all!

YellowCanary1 · 10/11/2013 20:06

Managed a 7.5k run today. felt wonderful to be out running again!

Agree moonshine I've noticed it too!

AlternativeMoniker53 · 10/11/2013 22:01

It's been DH's birthday weekend and I've eaten (and drunk!) about an extra two days worth of calories over the three days. Ah well. Tomorrow is another day! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Hello to the newbies

I've got a small operation next Monday to remove a possible BCC from my face. I can deal with this by with over or under eating, here's hoping for the slimming option! I've also bought a new bra as my others were too big, turns out M&S vanity sizing extends to bras, who knew? I've got a big, padded jobbie to tuck the deflated puppies into, looking better, I hope. Good luck everyone with this long process. Reastie congratulations on being so close, amazing work.

Sirzy · 10/11/2013 22:16

Well done yellow!

IsThatTrue · 11/11/2013 18:23

Hmm I've not really been on the wagon at all this weekend. I'm going to start from scratch tomorrow and do small portions and drinking lots of water. Being so close to the target I set at the beginning is really screwing with my motivation tbh!

I hope others are doing well.

YellowCanary1 · 11/11/2013 19:23

Quick weigh in today and think I'm on for another 3lbs this week, that'll be nearly 4 stone off and 2lbs off a healthy bmi! Felt really off track and suddenly seem to be back on it!

Just posted the below in 'Bottle and Breast Feeding' but wondered if anyone else on here had a clue?

Ds2 is 5 months old and ebf. After having my 2 children quite close together I had a lot of weight to lose post birth. I had always been a healthy size 10/12 but was about 4.5 stone overweight. I am just about into a healthy weight range again after losing 4 stone in the past 4.5 months. However though a lot slimmer I still have fat at the bottom of my back, just above buttocks on both sides, gives me a very flat bum look! My DH (farmer) just smiles and tells me all his healthy sheep have chubby flanks whilst lactating and it'll go once I stop bf (no plans for a while yet at least!) is this true? Am I storing fat in my 'flanks' for feeding, or do I need to find some super exercises to get rid of this bit?!

Debs75 · 11/11/2013 22:23

Yellowcanary I am breast feeding peer supporter and some of the more natural term feeders (18months+) do say that they found the fat seemed to jut sit there a while until they stopped breastfeeding. Your DH is right, in a cack-handed way, you are still providing 500 cals a day for baby and you are dieting as well so your body may well be holding onto some reserves so you don't melt away.

YellowCanary1 · 12/11/2013 07:23

Thanks debs, there wasn't a massive gap between stopping feeding ds1 and falling pregnant with ds2. Just curious more than anything as never held fat there before. Poor dh I think it was meant as a nice complement about feeding ds2 so well. His ewes are his pride and joy, so being compared to them is quite an honour! wink

laurely · 12/11/2013 11:11

Thanks for the welcomes. Had my personal training session at the gym today and he mentioned I'm very negative about my achievements. I play things down and find it difficult to accept compliments. People are mentioning my weight loss and complimenting me but Ijust get fflustered and can't accept them gracefully.

Is anyone else like this? How do I change such an ingrained way of being?

phantomhairpuller · 12/11/2013 20:46

Angry So annoyed with myself!

Hectic evening, finally sat down at 8o'clock. Was surprised how un-hungry(?!) I felt considering I've not eaten much today. Despite this, I've just cooked and eaten half a pizza AngrySad

I'm so frikking cross with myself!

Does anyone else eat purely out of habit rather than hunger?

This doesn't bode well for weigh-in tomorrow Blush

Sirzy · 12/11/2013 21:03

For anyone looking for exercise which is easy to fit into day to day life www.itv.com/lorraine/stylebeauty/hungry-girls-little-black-dress-diet/janes-exercise-plan/ has 3 minute routines so you can pick which ones you want to do either doing all of them or just the ones you can fit in. They seem quite good workouts too

Reastie · 12/11/2013 21:15

thanks for the link sirzy looks good.

phantom yes I eat out of habit I think. I look at the clock and think I should be hungry as it's time when I usually eat something, and then the more I think about it I make myself think I am hungry so I eat, but tbh I don't think I really was that hungry all along.

Am fully expecting STS tomorrow. Those last few lbs are tough to shift!

laurely well done on personal trainer (and Envy ). I had a couple of people telling me today how I've lost weight and how I've done it and I always get quite Blush and shy about it as I feel bad explaining how I've lost weight as I just think I might put it back on again and feel bad again about it. Plus it's not like there's a simple answer to the question either. Sometimes I feel like saying 'I only eat purple food and it all just dropped off' or some such just to give something specific for someone to grasp onto. It's like they want to be told there's one easy thing they can do and it will just magic the fat away. There isn't! unfortunately

Debs75 · 12/11/2013 21:43

Phantom yes I eat out of habit as well. I have noticed this past two weeks that I can miss meals and eat less and still be satisfied. My appetite has now come back though and I can feel the fridge calling me. I am expecting to put on 2lbs this week as I get used to normal meals again which won't be too shocking. I just wish I could eat less every meal

BirdingWidow · 12/11/2013 22:39

Yes to eating out of habit! And especially snacking out of habit...

Have had a truly appalling day - finally succumbed to some elderly chocolate in the fridge, lunch out, dinner out in ikea... I am definitely expecting a good 2lb gain at the very least. The only good thing is that I now feel bloated and grotty and actually looking forward to getting back on the wagon tomorrow. I am not giving up, I can feel my motivation creeping back at last!

Exercise thingy looks interesting Sirzy, thanks. Debs, I think getting ill and then getting my appetite back is what started me off on the naughty snacking again so I hope you manage to avoid that! Sounds as though you were much more ill though and probably do need to get your strength up a bit in the short term.

Good luck tomorrow everyone, I am sure I will make you all look good Grin

moonshine · 12/11/2013 23:02

I eat out of habit, and boredom, consciously and unconsciously and just about every time I wander into the kitchen Angry. There are lots of habits to break but need to do it bit by bit, I guess.

My body is on a weird phase again. I'm eating less but gaining weight this week Confused.

I have a job interview this week! Of course, I'm worried they will judge me for my size - has anyone else had this and how did you overcome it (apart from being fabulous in the interview!)?

phantomhairpuller · 13/11/2013 06:57

1lb down this week Smile

Pleased with that, especially after the unnecessary pizza last night!

Good luck all Grin

Reastie · 13/11/2013 07:14

moonshine good luck in the interview! I would hope they wouldn't judge you on your size, but I know before I lost weight I always felt like people did. I don't know if that was just my mental opinion rather than fact though and I haven't had an interview since I put on weight. I'm sure you'll be great and it won't make a bit of difference.

Birding it's great you can feel that motivation creeping up :)

STS here.

IsThatTrue · 13/11/2013 07:15

STS this week, but considering the week I had it's more than I deserve. It's also the first time since I started (in june) that I haven't lost weight so I can't really complain.

Good luck to all today's weighers

YellowCanary1 · 13/11/2013 07:19

1.5lb down this week, so now 12st4lbs.
Good luck all, and isthattrue, to have continuously lost since june is an amazing achievement!
