OOOhh slimmer of the weekHalloween Shock. Thank you all very much.

I have had a UTI this week which has stopped me eating anything rich(no Halloween sweets for me) I am on loads of painkillers, antib's and a hot water bottle 3 times a day.

I made a pumpkin pie today. I have always wanted to try one and there was a recipe in my weightwatchers leaflet. It is really nice, very easy to make and still low in calories. I do now have half a pie to eat and I will probably be the only one to eat it so maybe just sts this week

HenriettaBrain · 31/10/2013 22:21

Good idea Sirzy, I'm only using the app on my phone tonight so can't start new threads, if one of you want to feel free, otherwise I will do it tomorrow! Smile

Ooh I would love the pumpkin pie recipe, would love to try it

Reastie · 01/11/2013 13:00

Hi all,

Damn, so near yet so far to slimmer of the week (have never had such a title!). Well done debs :)

Grr, will someone actually tie my hand behind my back? No idea if it's just still post viral (make that new virus as I have a cold coming on having just got over last bug) but so hungry again today. Just eaten a twirl Blush . Am trying to put it all in perspective - not the end of the world, still not doing badly, could be worse etc etc. Why can't I just feel full Confused :(

In good news I went and got a pair of size 12 jeggings today, and these ones fit. Size 12 - I've NEVER been size 12!

Reastie · 01/11/2013 13:01

waist not weight!

Reastie · 01/11/2013 18:35

Urgh, I've just had rice pudding after my dinner and am sitting feeling very glutinous Blush . I just totted up my kcals on mfp and came in on around 2300, which is alot for me now (I'm usuallly 1700 max most days). I know it's not terrible, but I need some support as I haven't had a day this bad (with hunger and eating too much) in months Confused . I don't want to go down the slippery slope of eating more and more and putting weight back on.

phantomhairpuller · 01/11/2013 19:47

We all have blips reastie, don't beat yourself up! I'm sitting here with a bottle glass of wine and a dark choc kitkat.
Weekends always go tits up for me, I don't even try any more on a weekend Hmm

LottieDidIt · 01/11/2013 21:24

Reastie I'm probably not best placed to try and give you support tonight because I myself am having a really really bad day foodwise too. I've all but demolished the remaining trick or treat chocolate which there was A LOT of as we only got 2 trick or treaters and now I am waiting for my takeaway to arrive Blush Blush.

You've had a blip today but whats done is done now so don't feel bad about it - just try not to let tomorrow go the same way. You're not going to descend into a slippery slope - you've come too far and worked too hard to do that Smile Just keep thinking about those size 12 jeggings - whoop whoop well done!! Grin

Well done on slimmer of the week Debs! Smile

IsThatTrue · 01/11/2013 23:42

reastie well done on your size 12 jeggings.

I got my last item of too small clothes out today to see how far I had to go and it bloody fit! Shock so tonight I took my husband out to the theatre for his birthday wearing a gorgeous Karen Millen skirt! :) I've never fitted in it before so I'm very very happy!

HenriettaBrain · 02/11/2013 09:04

Well done reastie and Isthattrue!

Note to self- when you eat crap- you will feel like crap. SadSad

Last night was one if those hectic nights where nothing went right, my cousin called over just as kids were getting ready for bed so of course they wouldn't go to bed as she had her daughter with her! So by the time they left and I got kids to bed was after 9 and I was starving having had no dinner so i sent DH to the chipshop and I got a chicken fillet burger and chips then I ate a dairy milk Blush

Woke at 6 this morning with stomach cramps and have had vomiting diorrea since (tmi!!)

Karma's a bitch eh??

Anotherguineapigdown · 02/11/2013 10:31

Hi all, I'm back from holiday.

The day I left I was 15-1, and today after two weeks holiday I'm 15-6. So I have put 5lbs on, which although is a lot, is also a lot less than I feared. The food was fantastic and plentiful on holiday, and I couldn't resist it.

I thought I would have put on a stone, to be honest, so even though I have put on 5lbs I'm not too despondent.

I think what helped was swimming every day, and also taking the stairs rather than the lift.

I need to get back on the wagon and keep up the exercise to get back on track.

HenriettaBrain · 02/11/2013 10:46

Glad to have you back another, hope you had a lovely time!

Ah don't worry about the 5lb, I've put 8lb on in 2 weeks, and wasn't even on holiday! GrinGrin

clarinetV2 · 02/11/2013 13:09

Hi all. Just seen my nephew off at the station. Sad I'll miss him, it was fun having a youngster around now that both my daughters are away.

This afternoon I plan to hit the high street! I'm going to a part of town that has what I think of as high-end charity shops - where women donate very nice clothes as soon as they've worn them a couple of times because they've got bored. And I'll try some ordinary high street shops as well. I know I've put on a couple of pounds while my nephew was here and a sure-fire way of getting back on the wagon is to remind myself that I now take a size 10/12 and intend to stay there.

Reastie, how well I know that bloated and guilty feeling. But you know, because you've come so far, that the only response is to put it behind you and keep going. That's been the number one difference for me this time as opposed to all my other failed diets through the decades. This time I'm working very hard at not seeing it as all-or-nothing. A day's excess doesn't mean I have to beat myself up and re-start comfort eating because I've blown it anyway. It just means a few days of eating a little bit less which I know I can do. And so can you, Reastie, so onwards and upwards - or should that be downwards?

Anotherguineapigdown · 02/11/2013 13:35

Thanks Henrietta! That's put it in perspective! Grin

Hopefully I won't have the urge to overeat so much now I'm at home and there aren't a line of chefs cooking up tasty treats at every meal!

Debs75 · 02/11/2013 14:51

So this UTI has turned nasty. I have spent two days shivering with a high temp and not eating. Yesterday I just slept all day. I feel like I have the flu but I am not coughing, sneezing or anything flu like. I tried a crumpet for dinner and it tasted awful.Sad

Our WW group is doing Movember, like Movember but we are all aiming to walk 100 miles during November. I managed under 1 mile by pottering around in 2 days. I am hoping this 'thing' goes away so I can get active again.

I post the pumpkin pie recipe later, it is too much effort to get off the settee and walk into the kitchen

phantomhairpuller · 03/11/2013 19:06

How has the weekend been ladies?

Not great here. Again. Blush

Reastie · 03/11/2013 19:10

Hello ladies, thanks so much for the support. It really helps to have people here to come to when things get tough.

Today wasn't too bad (not good, but not terrible). I managed to do a cardio workout but I'm ill AGAIN with a headcold so didn't feel on full form to do all of it so did it gently. So fed up having 2 bugs straight after each other Confused .

debs hope you feel better soon. Have you got anti biotics for it?

phantom hoping it wasn't too terrible for you?

phantomhairpuller · 03/11/2013 19:30

I just can't get a handle on my weekend eating and drinking habits Hmm
I'm fine during the week but I just can't do it at the weekends.

Fasting day tomorrow to get me back on track Smile

Hope everyone is ok, glad your getting back to normal reastie, albeit slowly Wink

phantomhairpuller · 03/11/2013 19:32

Sorry reastie, I was confusing you with debs Blush

Read the thread from a few posts back and got confuddled! Smile

clarinetV2 · 03/11/2013 19:50

Debs, that sounds very nasty. Hope you feel better soon. Movember sounds like a great idea - thought at first you were all going to grow moustaches, but 100 miles sounds much more fun and less scratchy Wink

phantom, would it help at all to try to do different things at the weekend, and set up different habits? I suppose what I'm asking is whether there are specific trigger points in the day you associate with eating/drinking, and whether if you re-organise your weekend those triggers wouldn't happen in the same way? I'm not being very clear, but for me, a trigger time was Sunday mornings which I associated with nipping out to the local bakery for rolls and croissants (and I'm talking serious quantities here) which I then ate over the Sunday papers. To break the habit I stayed in bed at least an hour later, and re-set my food expectations by making a mushroom omlette and going back to bed to eat it there! Then getting up and going for a walk. It took several weeks, but gradually my body came not to expect and therefore crave its Sunday morning carb-fest.

I'm aiming at 1000 calories a day for the next three days while my body recovers from a week of eating too many nice meals cooked by my nephew. I managed it today, and I'm not feeling particularly hungry, so hopefully I'll be able to keep it up so that there won't be too much damage on the scales come Wednesday.

millabbie123 · 03/11/2013 20:22

I am the worse person for dieting because i love food its great how much support your giving each other. I did the 3 day challenge on the online diet in 3 days i lost 4lb which was great because i could eat loads now i have to knuckle down and stick to it if i could lose a stone by xmas it would give me the lift i need to lose the rest next year.

Good luck everyone

HenriettaBrain · 04/11/2013 08:15

Just had a sneaky weigh in and I'm definitely on for a good loss this week!Smile

I may even be slimmer of the week for the first ever time!! GrinGrin

YellowCanary1 · 04/11/2013 13:41

Hey all, just raising my head to say hello, still without internet at new place so will be low input for me for another week or so.
Move very, very hard work. Found 4 beams rotted through, electrics shot and plumbing collapsed! With 2 very young children, no bathrooms or proper electricity making it all very hard work! Living between parents and new project but slowly getting there. Weight wise no idea! Haven't eaten lots but grabbed the odd bad snack.
Hope everyone doing well!

LottieDidIt · 04/11/2013 17:15

Hi all,

reastie and Debs I hope you are both starting to feel better now Flowers

Good luck Henrietta for the slimmer of the week crown - I certainly won't be any competition for it!!

Yellow wow that sounds like some tough going but I'm sure it will all be worth in once you're properly living there with electricity and a bathroom! Wink

Not much to report for me - been to the docs today and asked about changing my pill because I'm not getting on well with my current one but was told I was too old and too fat Sad ok so maybe not in those words but the overall meaning was the same!

Debs75 · 04/11/2013 18:48

So back to drs today and she thinks the infection has spread so I am on stronger antibiotics, which make me throw up, and having bloods and urine tests done. On the plus side I have had my first meal since Thursday. It was a chicken dinner and it came in at 156 calories. I had less then dd3 who is 3 and I didn't finish it.
I missed weigh in yesterday but with my micro meals I am hoping for a loss next week. I must have sweated off a few pounds at least

BirdingWidow · 04/11/2013 18:57

I have been a bit absent due to a few busy days. How does anyone work AND keep up with mumsnet?! Friday I ate too much (lunch at a friend's house, she made veggie lasagne and it would have been rude not to, skipped pudding though), Saturday was okay but ended with chocolate and the less said about yesterday the better. Suffice to say, as it was MIL's 70th birthday lunch much champagne was consumed. And steak. And I did not skip pudding Blush.

While this has been another bad week I haven't had the 'give up' mentality but rather have just seen it as a bit if a delay. Am back on it today, hoping not to put on this week (may be being a tad optimistic!) and then back to making more effort next week.

Reastie, hope you are feeling more motivated again. And Henrietta, I hope you get the crown this week (like Lottie, I am not fighting you for it!). Yelliw, ug to plumbing and wiring... Still, river cottage was not built in a day!

Not long to Christmas, let's have a push and see if we can enjoy those festive frocks!
