Hello quiche avoiders Wink

Lovely shiny new thread- we are a talkative bunch!

First Thread

Second Thread

To be a quiche avoider you must
-have a considerable amount of weight to lose
-be serious about wanting to lose it
-give other members a virtual kick up the arse when needed
-weigh in with us on a Wednesday (or if you weigh in on another day, post your results on a wednesday)

So roll up, jump in and lets lose lbs! and if you are having a moment of weakness just remember... what would clarinet do Wink

^don't have time.

Sorry fat fingers!

Loving the wedding dresses! I was a 1980s bride, at which point I was going through a kind of hippy/grunge phase. So my wedding get-up featured black calf-length tasselled skirt, leg-warmers (red, over bright pink socks), DMs and a knitted pullover!! My mother nearly had a fit when she saw what I was wearing - she was doggedly in a sober mother-of-the-bride outfit complete with posh hat.

I'm back on the wagon today. It's taken some hoisting to get myself up there, but I reckon I'm going to need a couple of weeks at least back on the weight-loss (i.e. pre-maintenance) plan to make good the damage. So I've had around 1100 calories today, mostly protein and veggies. Thanks for the support, everyone. Still annoyed with myself, but not derailed.

Weigh in tomorrow...so why am I eating pizza now?? ConfusedConfused

Clarinet, that is amazing. Did you have big hair at all? rather wishes big hair was fashionable now as own hair is naturally huge

IsThat, I am amazed and impressed that you found something you love for such a great price! You have made me feel slightly embarrassed about having spent so much... Blush

Right, i have put a couple of pics on MFP. The front view looks surprisingly okay, the side one shows where much of my excess weight is and makes me feel a bit... gulp.

(I apologise to anyone who isn't interested in wedding dresses, I am excited today but promise not to go on and on...I am not, in general, a Bridezilla. Honest.)

MissElodie, I decided early on that i wouldn't let my weight slow down my wedding plans and i am glad but I do sometimes wish I had waited until I had lost the weight so I would look how I want to look, in my head. However, that is a lot of pressure and the day may never come; meanwhile we have a life together and i'd like to celebrate that. So we are cracking on. Go on, start thinking about it!

Debs75 · 08/10/2013 21:52

Clarinet don't let one day drag you off the wagon. Our battles with weight were not won or lost with one bad day of food.

Them wedding dresses were shockers. If I ever get married I want a rainbow theme I love this one or this one Not that it will ever happen though, we have been 'engaged' for 18 years and not even got around to discussing marriage properly.
DP has just said that we have discussed it, well I discuss it and he just doesn't listen.

Exercise, I hate exercise but I do walk everywhere if I can and I cycle twice a week and I did Zumba earlier. If I have the time I go with DP swimming. Apart from that I don't do much

cq · 08/10/2013 22:16

ShockShock I can't believe you were all talking about me and I wasn't here.

Some of those dresses are shockers - mine is positively tasteful by comparison!! I would scan a photo for you, but with the ongoing bloody builders saga, all my photo albums and pictures are in boxes.

I will try and find something similar on't'interweb. Grin

cq · 08/10/2013 22:19

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I've just found one of our wedding photos that I think one of the kids scanned in for some school homework. Will post on my profile, if I can work out how!! OMG I look so young!!

cq · 08/10/2013 22:34

OK, it's on my profile - I've gone public! It's v small though - you'll need to squint attractively.

BirdingWidow · 08/10/2013 22:56

cq, that's utterly fabulous! I love the hat and the shape of the coat (I presume it was a separate piece?). It is really dramatic. Is that really of its time though? If there was a particular fashion for the equestrian look in the 90s it passed me by like all fashions, to be fair .

Now I feel boring

BirdingWidow · 09/10/2013 05:25

Up way with baby and back to earth with a bump... He was reeeeally sick in the night but didn't cry so I was oblivious till this morning. Vomit literally everywhere. He needs a bath. Poor little man Sad. Mins you, cleaning up vomit... Now I really feel like a mum Grin

Lost 1 lb. s'alright.

MiaWallace · 09/10/2013 06:25

STS this week

Sirzy · 09/10/2013 06:55

-2 which takes me to 12 stone 13 :)

LittleRobots · 09/10/2013 07:06

16st 7. Poo. I thought I'd eaten a bit better but I've been quite ill and not really exercised at all. I had in my head I wanted to lose 1.5 pounds a week on average and then I'd be an acceptable weight in a year! Grr. I'm doing something wrong.

LittleRobots · 09/10/2013 07:07

That's a gain of a pound.

clarinetV2 · 09/10/2013 07:14

cq, that's a fabulous photo. Lovely start to the day!

I'm afraid, LittleRobots, I'm going to beat you by miles on the weight gain stakes. In fact I think I'm setting a new record for the quiche - most weight gained in a single week. Five pounds on for me. Sad Hopefully a fair bit of that is water. Thanks to everyone for encouraging me back onto the wagon. I'm trying not to be too disappointed - after all, I'm still more than five and a half stone less than I was last August. And my size 14 clothes are still too big!

clarinetV2 · 09/10/2013 07:16

Sorry, posted too soon. Congratulations, Sirzy, for making it into the 12s. Fantastic news. Birding, well done on the weight loss, and I hope your day gets better!

Sirzy · 09/10/2013 07:20

Little and clarinet - today is the start of a new week (in quiche terms) so perfect chance to get back on top of things!

Clarinet - you have come so far it's fantastic, slip ups are fine coz you know you can get back on it!

Little - have you tried doing a good diary/mfp? Really helped me when I was starting out as it made me think before I ate!

Thanks clarinet, it also marks to 3 stone lost mark. I will celebrate with a salad later and maybe some new clothes!

phantomhairpuller · 09/10/2013 07:30

STS this week. A bit disheartened but hardly surprised!! Must try harder Wink

Reastie · 09/10/2013 07:34

STS again here

IsaacCox · 09/10/2013 07:44

+1 here Blush not surprised though as I've eaten terribly this week and it's the time of the month year here!

So now I'm 15st 13 and need -2lb to get 2 stone.

Good luck to all weighing in today :)

IsThatTrue · 09/10/2013 07:48

1lb down for me today:

Starting weight 14stone 1
Current weight 11stone 1

So total weight loss is exactly 3 stone!

My original goal was in 8lbs but to be perfectly honest I think I need to get to around the 10 stone mark. But that means only 1 stone left to go! :)

Well done sirzy !!

clarinet you're back on it now which is what's important, draw a line in the sand and move on.

robots try not to be too disappointed as long as you keep on going you'll get there.

BirdingWidow · 09/10/2013 07:55

Sirzy, that's two milestones in one week, the 12s and 2 stone off. Defo worth celebrating with a new clothe or two.

Clarinet, you are bound to bounce around your target. I am glad you are sticking with us though - we need the inspiration and its good that you have people who understand the pull of food. We can talk here in a way we wouldn't in RL. and I am sure I will smash your quiche record over Christmas week anyway

HerdyHerdwick · 09/10/2013 08:32

I'm working away from home, so I haven't weighed this morning. Will check in again next week when I'm back home.
Good luck to everyone!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/10/2013 09:42

STS here.

Definitely getting thinner though, I can feel it in my clothes.

clarinet don't be too harsh on yourself, as you say a lot of that will be water. You can do it :)

cq · 09/10/2013 11:47

I think I'm down another 1lb, which puts me back to where I was before I fell off the wagon. But when I went to log it on MFP, I had gained a bit, but I think I didn't log the 2lb gain the other week, so MFP is confused. As am I

Thanks for the comments about the photo, Clarinet and Birding - it was a lovely dress - strapless, fitted dress with a long 'riding habit' skirt, a long fitted jacket over the top and a top hat with lace veiling around the brim. All made by my very very clever SIL. All it cost me was the fabric - we had a lovely day trawling round fabric shops somewhere in London for just the right shade of raw silk, and lace to go over the top on the jacket.

I weighed 9.5 stone and was a small size 12 then. Happy days. I was heavily into horses in those days - had 2 of my own, which I was secretly hoping someone would spruce up and bring to the church, as it was right next door to the livery yard where they lived. Sadly no-one was brave enough, probably just as well. I did get my horse-drawn carriage though, which I had dreamed about since I was a little girl - you can just see it in the background.

Anyway, this is not a weddings thread - so - Clarinet you are FORBIDDEN to beat yourself up about last week - if you must look back, then look at the whole picture - look how far you've come. I yearn to be a size 14 again.

Well done to all the other losers this week - another milestone Sirzy, great stuff.
