Make me shred

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

Sounds like a plan Frances

I'm going camping for the weekend tomorrow, so will have to try and remember the moves!Really don't want to have to go back to day 1!!

RippingYarns · 08/08/2013 14:12

i was wondering where you'd got to Frances, hope you're ok?

that's a good point about moving up too fast, it might be called the 30 day shred, but surely it's like a weight-loss programme, slower is better?

i'm enjoying the buzz of progress, but moving along too quickly might cause me to peak too soon, thanks for the reigning in.

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 08/08/2013 14:19

Thanks for welcoming me back and not making me feel too guilty :o Everything fine thanks, was just away with work on Mon/Tue and then had to drop DH at the station early on Wed and go straight into work. I did set the alarm for 5.50 but by the time I'd actually got out of bed there wasn't time to shred, shower, sort 2 DC out and be in the car for 7 :o

Does anyone else feel cheated that it is actually longer than 20mins? I desperately needed to finish at a certain time today and so started shred 20+ mins earlier (allowing time for all the chat at the beginning), skipped the cool down and yet I was still a few mins late!

Although I did laugh at doing it on Youtube which keeps sticking - I feel like that happens to me on the push ups and those eye raise things anyway, how bad would it be if you did more than necessary!

OP posts:
IcedCoffeeQueen · 08/08/2013 15:08

Did it! Day 8 of level 1 complete plus 30 mins of davina target.

Those eye raises are EVIL they are the only weights move I miss a few whatever muscles are used there I must have weak ones!

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 08/08/2013 19:06

You put me to shame!
I find those hard and the push ups. Other than that I'm coping OK with L1 I think...

Day 2 of level 2 done and I really wanted to cry! How does she come up with these things?! Really feeling it in my arms, which is good as I want them to firm up a bit!

TwentyTinyToes · 08/08/2013 19:42

Iced that is impressive! Sneezy it's my arms that really ache too, although i am not as far along as you. It's my arms and legs that ache the most, in fact it's my middle i would like to slim down not my legs (although not complaining!).

Have no idea what my weights are, they are just the bar DP uses with the bits that you screw on to keep the weights on attached but no actual weights. Heavy enough for me though.

Must get a sports bra at the weekend too, still breastfeeding DD and those jumping jacks are a killer.

RippingYarns · 08/08/2013 20:38

i have to wear 2 bras Blush, badly fitting (too small cup) under sport bra

it really helps me with butt kicks if i'm not struggling to control the frontage Grin

IcedCoffeeQueen · 08/08/2013 21:24

I still cant do a full pressup not even 1! I have to do the modified ones Im obviously not very strong, those raise up to the eyes ones are truly horrible though, I noticed when I done level 2 there is a similar one called the v raise I think its even harder!

realllly struggling with food tonight though im starving and want buttery toast!

MrsMcGregor · 08/08/2013 21:59

I'm hopeless at press-ups but tell myself that something is better than nothing. Right?

Iced - am mega impressed.

Frances - I know what you mean, definitely not 20 mins. The kids lay in this morning so it was after 10 before I got breakfast cleared and got to Shred. Then someone landed t the door and by the time I was showered it was lunchtime .... can't be having that every day.

bionic77 · 08/08/2013 22:44

Day 6 done ( I did it around 7pm but only just posting now). My resolved wavered today and I found myself tucking into a scone with cream and jamBlush, it was lovely.

Well done Frances for getting back on it. It is tempting when you miss a day or two of exercise or a diet to never get back to it so well done. i know I won't be able to do it on Monday as staying with the PIL, they wouldn't understand. So I'm going to start level 2 on Tuesday and try and focus on stepping up a level.

Twenty I don't know where I'd be without my sports bra (breast feeding too)

Anyway well done guys and thank you for keeping me motivated to Shred.

wallpaperaddict · 09/08/2013 09:05

Morning shredders! Great that everuone is sticking with it and doing so well! Nice to see you back with us Francis! I'm just about to do day 9. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 1lb since Sunday! I appreciate that it's nothing really but the difference to my midsection since starting is amazing, much trimmer and my legs now have huge muscles!

RippingYarns · 09/08/2013 09:10

Morning wallpaper

I'm about to shred, I'm feeling awesome and can see a real difference in my shoulders and mid section. Can't call it a waist yet :-D

wallpaperaddict · 09/08/2013 09:49

Hi ripping! That's me done for today. It was a bit much today, I don't feel 100%,I think I may be getting a cold. I didn't want to miss a day for fear I'd just give up!

I did proper press ups today which I am amazed at! Never been able to do those before, I'd been doing the knee ones up until today. Blush

MrsMcGregor · 09/08/2013 10:41

Well done with the weight loss and Day 9 press-up Wallpaper.

I've just done day 5. I am really unfit and so struggle most with the cardio - I hate jumping jacks with a passion. If I remember correctly from when I did it past year, there are none in L2. Going to be difficult to fit it in tomorrow as we've got to go uniform shopping but I know I must!

TwentyTinyToes · 09/08/2013 10:46

Wow, how brilliant that you can see results. Did day 4 earlier and i have to say i think it was a little bit easier, the cardio certainly was. My legs are agony but otherwise i feel ok.

Good luck everyone with the shredding!

TwentyTinyToes · 09/08/2013 10:53

What is everyone wearing on their feet? I have been doing it barefoot but read that i should be wearing trainers. My choice of footwear is converse, winter boots, gladiator sandals or walking boots Hmm so i opted for the converse. Shall i add trainers to my, shopping list?

Go MrsMcGregar well done, i HATE those bloody lunges towards the end with the weights at eye level.

RippingYarns · 09/08/2013 10:57

I managed about 5 whole press ups but I can fit in 30+ half ones so I'll stick to those while I build up my strength :-D

Good luck to everyone for today!

RippingYarns · 09/08/2013 11:00

Twenty, you should be wearing running shoes, but converse is better than nothing.

please don't do it in bare feet, you really are at risk of serious damage to your knees, ankles and even risk broken toes during the cardio moves

TwentyTinyToes · 09/08/2013 11:44

Thanks, running shoes it is then.

Ripping well done on the press ups Smile

niceupthedance · 09/08/2013 12:48

Twenty I have a really ugly pair of running shoes which were in the sale for £20 - gym and shredding use only!

I'm having to take a day off today due to unexpected hangover. Oh dear! The sides of my chest are really hurting today though, could that be from chest flies? They feel so easy at the time!

SneezySnatcher · 09/08/2013 14:01

Twenty I wear running shoes too. I'm alternating shred with c25k, so they are being well used!

I weighed myself today and I've lost a stone in four weeks (bear in mind DS is 16 weeks, so lots is probably fluid from pregnancy). I am now lighter than I was before my first pregancy almost four years ago. I'm pretty much at goal weight now, so I'm going to up the calories to maintenance level but keep on with the shred and running to tone up (and because I enjoy it).

Day 3 of L2 done today. I am starting to see a tiny bit of definition on my stomach, which is amazing. Shame about the c-section scar though Sad.

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 09/08/2013 14:58

well done on the weight loss wallpaper and SNeezy! Sneezy, it's so early, surely your scar will fade loads?
Glad it's not just me who has noticed she sneaks in a few extra mins here and there - they should just call it the half hour shred :o
I was back on it this morning. I can't remember - what cardio do they do in L2? I know L3 is pretty much the same as L1, but holding the weights!
