Make me shred

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 01/08/2013 07:53

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

Oh Lord, going to need super strength wine motivation to do it tomorrow then! I literally waddled round the dog walk this afternoon!

wallpaperaddict · 07/08/2013 15:28

The morning of day 3 I had to take the stairs one at a time! My legs were like useless lead weights!

bionic77 · 07/08/2013 15:37

If you can bear it iced baths or the shower on the cold setting on your aching muscles really helps lessen the aching for the next day- easier in this heat but still not pleasant!

RippingYarns · 07/08/2013 20:53

first chance i've had to sit down since shredding this morning, i think i've broken my abs bone - ooohyah!

still, back on it tomorrow, only 3 days to go and i'm going onto L2 Grin

TwentyTinyToes · 07/08/2013 21:28

Libertine day 3 for me tomorrow too, my legs are so sore but the rest of me feels ok (for now). We are out all day tomorrow too so might try to squeeze it in first thing otherwise will be late afternoon, or worse, the evening.

Bionic wow a little baby, and you do extra cardio, i am seriously impressed! Has anyone checked your stomach muscles? DD is 7 months so i guess mine are ok now? Dr was useless at 6 wk check and did not feel mine, it occurred to me whilst doing the abs bit this morning. Anyone know?

Ripping and Wallpaper do you feel or look any different? Did i read upthread that someone said they were enjoying it?!

Brew to everyone else although perhaps Wine is more deserved!

wallpaperaddict · 07/08/2013 21:57

twenty I can see a difference, just sort of generally less flabby in the mid section and I am developing some pretty serious leg muscles! In terms of general wellbeing I feel far more energetic which is good with 2 DC to keep occupied in the holidays!

I may not come back til tomorrow evening, I've got a day out planned tomorrow, and an important call to take first thing so I will probably shred before the DC wake up and then just get on with things! good luck for your next work out fellow shredders! Smile

IcedCoffeeQueen · 07/08/2013 22:09

wallpaperaddict, I know I felt ok during the workout thought it was just immediately after I felt the pain, I iced it and and it seems ok now the bones on top of foot are a bit tender though I didn't wear trainers (never do) but they are definitely needed for level 2 imo.

As for whats in it, definitely harder than level one, lots of plank moves with jumping legs in and out and to the side, plank crunches, harder weights moves eg V raises particularly difficult for me. The cardio harder too, high knee jog, double jump rope, ab work moves to a double crunch and a crunch with legs and weights, I am DEFINATELY feeling the effects of level 2 right now!

RippingYarns · 07/08/2013 22:20

Twenty, my ankles have returned, my shoulders and upper chest are tighter and my flabby stomach is a lot tighter - I'm enjoying it!

Iced, you must wear running shoes, You are at serious risk of shin splints and damaging your knees. Good shoes will help absorb the impact and protect your joints.

bionic77 · 07/08/2013 23:13

Twenty GP didn't check my stomach muscles at the 6 week check, I did get her to check my stitching though Confused!

I'm not doing extra cardio but am walking a few times a day once with the dog and pram and then later with just pram. I'm building up to going for a run which will be the first one for over a year argh Jillian give me strength!

RippingYarns · 08/08/2013 08:21

I'd still be at the surgery 6 years later if my doctor was checking for my stomach muscles :-D

Day 8 - bring it on! (Well, in about an hour)

TwentyTinyToes · 08/08/2013 08:25

Day 3 done, was pretty bad but not quite as bad as i was expecting, maybe it will hit tomorrow?!

Good luck everyone!

MrsMcGregor · 08/08/2013 09:24

Oh, can I join please? I'm doing Day 4 of level 1 today. I really struggled on day 1 - probably watched 50% rather than exercising Blush, much better since although yesterday was a struggle. Interested in what weight of weights everyone is using?

libertine73 · 08/08/2013 09:27

My abs are not sore at all (not convinced there are any abs under the flubber) my legs are killing though,do you think I should do more sit ups?

Not looking forward to the next 27 minutes!!

libertine73 · 08/08/2013 09:28

I'm on baked bean tins Mrs !! professional I know :)

libertine73 · 08/08/2013 09:29

May invest in some water bottles tomo, time to take this seriously Grin

niceupthedance · 08/08/2013 09:53

I'm going to join in I think. Did the shred in March then went on to Jillian's other workouts then moved house and it all went tits up - no exercise for a month! I've got a festival to go to at the end of this month and want to look the best I can so I'm back on the bandwagon, shredding again. Today was day 5 L1.

Hoping to do 5x per week as toddler is home all day at the moment, and likes to join in Angry so it's hard to find time.

wallpaperaddict · 08/08/2013 09:56

Morning fellow shredders! Shredded first thing this morning,it is getting a bit repetitive now, I can recite it word for word, but that's Day 8 done for me.

MrsMc Welcome! I am using 1.13kg for the arms in with legs exercises and 2.2kg for the chest fly exercise.

IcedCoffeeQueen · 08/08/2013 10:08

I have zero motivation or energy this morning lying on the sofa willing myself to do something!

I usually use 3kg for bicep curls, presses and chest flys and 1.5kg for the rest

RippingYarns · 08/08/2013 10:37

Maybe a rest day is needed, Ice?

You all must be superhuman using such heavy weights :-O

I use .5kg to start then 1kg for the floor exercises.

wallpaperaddict · 08/08/2013 10:38

Come on iced you can do it!

libertine73 · 08/08/2013 10:55

done! going to invest in the DVD though, as youtube kept stalling, so took forever, and did more than I needed to, not as bad as I thought it would be today (day3) so definitely keeping it up!

Hello niceup are you going to Leeds/Reading? Envy

MrsMcGregor · 08/08/2013 10:57

Day 4 done! Knackered! Long, hot shower calling.

I'm using 1kg for chest flies and the squat where you raise arms to eye level. 1.5kg for the rest. Tried putting both together for dumbbell row today but it was too awkward with 2 weights in each hand. Feel like I could manage 2/2.5kg for bicep curls and dumbbell row.

RippingYarns · 08/08/2013 11:21

Wallpaper, do you feel ready to move up yet?

I'm loving it this time around, having people to check up on me/with is really helping :)

niceupthedance · 08/08/2013 14:03

Hey Libertine, no it's SW4 festival in London. Smile

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 08/08/2013 14:08

Hi everyone
Didn't manage to shred Mon/Tue/Wed (real reasons, not my usual pathetic excuses!) but did it this morning. Should be able to do every day now until the week after next so that is my goal
I'm sticking with L1 for as long as possible. Last time I think I went up too fast and it meant I didn't carry on as long as I would. So I plan to do L1 to the end of August, L2 in September and L3 until the end of October - my birthday :o If I can do that I'll be really pleased.
