Make me shred

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

I think I might sub those for oblique twists and skaters tomorrow, far better to do that than spend the 2mins failing?

BinksToEnlightenment · 01/09/2013 13:35

I agree, that sounds sensible. Maybe practice them separately after a walk to warm up. They are mad though. I noticed today that she was saying swap legs for the second set. I was like, I can't even feel which leg is which anymore!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 01/09/2013 16:25

Ripped is about 27 mins all together same as shred and same 3,2,1 system.

I agree the jumping lunges on shred are HARD but I would recommend keep doing them even if you really don't think you can, when I started level 3 I couldn't do any at all but I kept pushing and falling over myself going at my own pace and giving it everything I had, I can now do all the first set and the second set missing out a few, its like your body just clicks how to do it if you keep forcing it and like Jillian says they are really effective my thighs are like rocks just now!

lifesgreatquestions · 01/09/2013 16:52

I'll be curious to hear what people think of Ripped so do post when you get to it!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 01/09/2013 18:54

Ive tried level one already its good I posted about it a bit further back, yesterday I shredded then thought id have a look at level 2 got half way through the warm up and turned it off I could tell I wouldn't have the energy harder and longer and that's just the warm up! going to be effective though I can tell, will post about it again once ive started properly

glenthebattleostrich · 01/09/2013 19:38

Well I did it. Level 2 day 5, though should probably have started again after a 4 day break (oops, it was my birthday though, yes I commiserate for 4 days!)

Back every night this week, and Friday morning then away for a couple of days. Sharing a cottage with some friends so will take the DVD with me and hope I get time to do it.

BinksToEnlightenment · 01/09/2013 19:46

Ripped in 30 looks pretty good! I just watched the trailer.

Is anyone following any of her meal plans? I'm really impressed with the toning and strength I've gained, but not the weight gain.

I couldn't do loads of level two to start and was having to have breaks and follow Anita. I can do the whole thing following Natalie now though. I have high hopes I can do the same with level three.

BinksToEnlightenment · 01/09/2013 19:50

I get ants in my pants to do more exercise, too! Does anyone else get this?

Last night, I got out of bed at 1am to see how many push ups I could do off the cuff. I did twenty, easily.

I can't believe what I'm turning into, but I like it!

wallpaperaddict · 01/09/2013 20:48

Can someone please make me shred? I've been so busy I just realised I've not done it! I know I've got to do it but its so late now...

MrsMcGregor · 01/09/2013 20:52

Binks Shock, are you crazy? Push ups at 1am?

Ripped sounds okay at 27 mins. Had a look at the UTube clip a week or two ago and it does look intense. Enjoy it Iced! I just need to complete L2. 4 more days though not doing a 6.30am session tomorrow as I have felt really unwell this evening.

Lovely to read so many enthusiastic posts!

wallpaperaddict · 01/09/2013 21:43

Ok just done it! Level 3 day 5! 5 down, 5 to go.
Even the dreaded jumping lunges were easy today! Yay!

RippingYarns · 01/09/2013 21:46

there's a new september shred thread here

we can go and show them all how it's done

but not you SPB we know you're lurking and shirking

wallpaperaddict · 01/09/2013 21:57

Thanks for the link to that thread ripping.

BinksToEnlightenment · 01/09/2013 23:52

MrsMcGregor - :o I know, right! In my defence, I had terrible insomnia. But the shred has definitely turned me into a different person. Weeeeired!

wallpaperaddict - You're my lunge hero

glenthebattleostrich · 02/09/2013 19:40

Level 2 day 6 done.

I like some of the exercises but the sheer amount of plank work makes me hate level 2, please tell me there isn't as much in level 3. Pretty please??

wallpaperaddict · 02/09/2013 20:09

Level 3 day 6 with 2.2kg weights done! Woohoo!

glen no not so much plank work in L3! A little but lots of other evil stuff! Jumping lunges, travelling press ups, cardio with weights! It's great! Grin

RippingYarns · 02/09/2013 20:17

Fuck me, I'm so tired after todays shred just now I don't even remember how many days I've done

Good news is i managed some of those jumping lunge things without breaking anything

Apart from my arse bones. They are in tatters :-D

wallpaperaddict · 02/09/2013 21:20

Arse bones in tatters!!! ripping I almost spat my tea!!! So funny! My DH, bless him, said my jumping lunges looked graceful today!

TwentyTinyToes · 02/09/2013 22:34

Day 1 of level 2 completed today, i looked far from graceful, what's with all the bloody plank work?! And so much leaping about, my coordination struggled.

Binks press ups at 1am?! Shock Grin are you mad?

Seriously impressed with those on level 3, well done. At what point did level 2 become easier?

wallpaperaddict · 02/09/2013 22:38

twenty I never really enjoyed L2 but I'd say it got easier around the 4th day!

BinksToEnlightenment · 02/09/2013 23:24

Level two for me got easier about day five or six.

Day three of level three done!

RippingYarns · 03/09/2013 08:45

L2 got easier for me when I started L3 ;)

TwentyTinyToes · 03/09/2013 10:01

Did day 2, level 2 earlier, loads harder today, my poor shoulders. Ripping not a fan of level 2 then?! I'll hold onto your day 4 wallpaper. I am absolutely starving too, oh well only two hours until lunchtime.

BalloonSlayer · 03/09/2013 10:11

Urgh Day 3 of Level 2 done.

Found it really hard today - I found day 1 easier and I had a corker of a hangover!

MrsMcGregor · 03/09/2013 10:30

Well done you lot! You're doing great but I really don't like the sound OD L3.

Having a bad time with L2. Just did 3/4 of day 7 and thought sod it. I don't have Jillian and I need her. L2 disappeared from UTube so 8 downloaded it via iTunes to my iPad. Well, it's not there. It says 27 mins are downloaded but only gives me a 30 second trailer! Flipping heck. Shall have to look into it and sort it for tomorrow. It's not fresh enough in my head for me to remember all the exercises in sequence and anyway, I've discovered I need Jillian to nag me. I did all the strength circuits and the first two of cardio and abs so guess I only skipped the last cardio and abs. Didn't have the heart. Need a pep talk ladies! Grin
