Make me shred

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 01/08/2013 07:53

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

Day 4 Level 2 done

Sorry to hear about all the injuries, hope you are all feeling better soon

Did I mention I hate plank pose more than anything apart from the V raises?

I wasn't going to shred today, felt blurgh all day but really glad I did, especially after the 3 pan au chocolat I had for tea, oops.

Off for a bath now.

IcedCoffeeQueen · 25/08/2013 20:24

I am hung over today so have not shredded have also consumed 2 bacon rolls, a Chinese takeaway, half a bag of haribo and bag of choc buttons Blush back on it tomorrow though day 21!

BinksToEnlightenment · 25/08/2013 21:12

I did an extra shred today - level one - because it's my intention to get pissed as shit tonight, so no exercise tomorrow.

lifesgreatquestions · 25/08/2013 22:57

Ooh, Iced, that sounds yum!

MsM I think you're the most enthusiastic level 2 post I've seen! Level 3 is nothing compared to the leap from L1 to L2 so no need for hill running!

I can't believe I'm on day 25, I'm thinking about keeping this up as a regular thing since it's usually no problem finding the time. Feel so much more confident about my body!

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 08:33

Binks - those twist and star jumps make me feel so uncoordinated - is that how you hurt your back? Enjoy your hangover Grin and day off.

Iced - sounds like the perfect Sunday! Day 21 is amazing.

Okay, I'm off for Day 2 of L2. It's taking over my life - I wake up during the night thinking about it Grin. Sore and achey today, especially my buttocks Hmm

BalloonSlayer · 26/08/2013 09:00

Level 1 Day 7 done

I will confess - I will only do 10 days of Level 1 and then move on. If I try to wait until I "find level 1 easy" I will never move on EVER. Level 2 is my favourite.

I did not shred over the weekend yet found it marginally easier than I did on Friday - how odd? Yet have not ate all that much and seem to have put on a pound. Angry

I am having no trouble motivating myself to due this while the DCs are still on holiday. I get up in the morning and put on my shredding gear then do it before breakfast - sooner I get it done the sooner I get to eat. I am not sure how I will motivate myself to do it when they are back at school and I am back at work. Confused

wallpaperaddict · 26/08/2013 09:27

Hi everyone, lovely to come back to the thread and see everyone progressing and so motivated! I am still unable to shred, or move actually. I need to see my chiropractor but I fear my shredding days are over and it's gutting. Sad

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 09:29

Level 2, day 2 done. Happy! Grin. Oh, and feeling my abs just now!

Balloon, I'm the same now it's the holidays. Up, dress, eat, give it half an hour and shred. When school starts back, I've either got to do it before my first school run at 7.45 or at 9.15/9.30 when I'm done. Can imagine not doing it at 9.30 when I'm dressed with make-up done but can I really shred at 7am - and before breakfast?? Yikes! What does anyone else plan to do?

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 09:31

Wallpaper - nooooo! You're such an inspiration - you must get that injury sorted and the hopefully start again. How did it happen? Feel so sorry for you.

lifesgreatquestions · 26/08/2013 10:09

Wallpaper Sad! Do you know what move did your injury? I've found I've had to return to being more careful on all the crunches as I've started pulling my neck and tensing my jaw throughout as I push myself harder and I've had shoulder ache throughout level 3. Nothing bad enough to require an intervention though. I hope you can get an appointment soon.

MrsM, abs are great aren't they!!! I shredded at 6:30 am up to about day 18 and then couldn't face it anymore and started doing it at the end of the day during the work week. I would find it annoying to do it after getting dressed and made up. Can you do the school run in sports gear? And I certainly found it easier to shred on an empty stomach first thing by the way, I'm much more lethargic on a full stomach. (and I think about it too, how I miss certain exercises from a different level than I'm on!Blush)

Balloon, this is the first time I've shredded and I have just moved up every ten days. I now occasionally add in other levels to level 3 and going back I can see that I'm perfecting the moves a little bit more but mostly I'm just trying to keep up!

TwentyTinyToes · 26/08/2013 11:33

Day 12 level 1. wallpaper what an absolute pain, hope you get some help soon. It is really disappointing when you are feeling motivated.

balloon i planned to move up after 10 days but ended up having a week off due to family illness so just going to do 5 days of level 1 to ease myself back in.

life wow you are flying through i and well done to Mrs and ripping. Good to hear of changes. Hello to anyone i have missed.

wallpaperaddict · 26/08/2013 11:35

mrsmc and life I didn't hurt myself doing the shred. Few years ago I was in a car crash and been left with an injury to my neck and upper back. I see the chiropractor regularly and had been making good progress. On Friday I lifted the pram and I'm left in this mess! I'm hoping an adjustment will set things right again. Up until now the shred had helped as my core was strengthened and my arms, shoulders and back stronger. Sad

lifesgreatquestions · 26/08/2013 15:22

ooh, I can't imagine Wallpaper, here's hoping for a quick return to health.

GoodtoBetter · 26/08/2013 15:47

I did it for a bit, then sprained my ankle, then went on holiday and now I'm just being lazy. Gwan...make me shred!

MrsMcGregor · 27/08/2013 08:44

Day 3 L2 done and dusted. Day 17 in total - amazed I'm still here. Feeling the benefits of L2 in my thighs, buttocks, back and shoulders = achey! Grin

Wallpaper - glad you didn't do the injury shredding but sorry to hear its an old injury which has flared up. Do hope the chiro can work some magic.

Life - 6.30am? Yikes! I did it at 7.45am today, before breakfast. 'twas okay but the thought of doing it at 7am - yikes. No, definitely wouldn't do the school run in sports gear - actually sports gear, yes but sans make-up. Not a blooming chance! I would if I could drop them and run but I have to take them in. I think early starts a couple of days a week and when they're all dropped off other days.

Twenty - well done. When are you joining me on L2?

Good how can you resist motivation and support like this? Come on ....

BalloonSlayer · 27/08/2013 09:29

Level 1 Day 8 done!

There is something I am sort of saving up for, so I am contemplating "paying" myself every time I shred when the DCs go back to school and I go back to work . . . maybe that will get me motivated.

RippingYarns · 27/08/2013 09:47

Morning all, L2D8 done!

Balloon, that's a great idea, I might pinch that one for when I lose impetus.

Good luck to everyone for today - and hope those nursing injuries are getting better

phantomhairpuller · 27/08/2013 09:50

Hi all Grin

Mind if I join you? I've just done day 9, level 1. Have been doing it every day. Am thinking of moving to level 2 after tomorrow.

What's it like? I'm a tad scared!! Wink

BalloonSlayer · 27/08/2013 10:50

Hi phantom

Level 2 is actually my favourite and I find it a bit easier than Level 1 TBH. But that may be because I find the strength and cardio of Level 1 circuit 1 incredibly hard, for me it's the hardest thing in the whole shred, so the first circuit of level 2 seemed like a breath of fresh air to me IYSWIM. Grin

TwentyTinyToes · 27/08/2013 10:56

Hi shreddies, day 13 level 1 done, looking forward to level 2. I like the idea if paying myself, or treating myself to something (not chocolateGrin) at the end of the week.

Good luck everyone!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 27/08/2013 14:01

Im back had yesterday off as well after my sunday food blow out I had a major ibs attack and could barely stand yesterday, feeling better today but little energy managed shred level 3. My ripped in 30 arrived too so I gave level 1 a bash seems good

wallpaperaddict · 27/08/2013 15:53

Well done all my fellow shreddies! It's nice to see everyone keeping it up and hi to the newbies!
mrsmc im off to the chiropractors in the morning and then hoping that I can get back into at least some of the exercises. I still so disappointed that I've had to stop. The exercise was really good for me, physically and mentally, and I miss it! Never thought I'd say that!
iced sorry to hear you suffer with IBS and wasn't well yesterday. Tell me more about ripped in 30, I've not bought mine yet!
phantom well done on getting to day 9! Level 2 is quite different, works more on your core. I found it a bit tedious after a few days and was glad to move to level 3!
ripping hi! Well done on L2D8! How are you finding level 2?

RippingYarns · 27/08/2013 18:44

I'm finding L2 tough, but it goes really quickly. I've been wearing a pedometer this past few days and am pleasantly surprised that even with all the static lunges I'm averaging 1200 steps on that alone!

I was out day yesterday and didn't shred til I got home - not great, so I pushed myself to do it before we went out today, and so far today the pedometer is reading 16000 :-O

I'm tired but in a good way.

I'm ordering 6 week 6 pack now - I will not be fat anymore

lifesgreatquestions · 27/08/2013 18:53

MrsM, I know the morning shred is tough.

Balloon, what a great idea, paying yourself to shred! Looks like a few of us might follow in your footsteps.

Hi Phantom, you'll be fine, dive in!

Hi everyone else!

Day 27 here, or day 7 or level 3, really proud, think I will stick with daily exercise, hopefully regardless of the outcome of my measurements in 3 days!

BinksToEnlightenment · 27/08/2013 19:18

I'm suffering a lull in my motivation. I went out drinking and made myself sick sick sick. It wasn't very fun. I feel like a real banana! Classic mistake of drinking on an empty stomach.

So no shred yesterday and I'm really struggling to convince myself to do it today. I had KFC for dinner. Gah!

Hopefully I'll check in again before bedtime to say I've done it....
