Make me shred

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

binks sorry to hear you've hurt your back, I hope it settles soon and you can get back into it.

Well done everyone who has shredded today!

I've just completed level 3 day 2 and I loved it! It's really amazing that in such a short time my strength and stamina has increased so much! For everyone plugging away at level 2 and finding it boring, I promise you, level 3 is fab! Just get through level 2 and you'll see what I mean!!! Grin

BinksToEnlightenment · 23/08/2013 21:22

I hope so too. It's the one thing I don't want to mess about with. Bad back is the worst

IcedCoffeeQueen · 23/08/2013 21:59

I decided to go ahead and start level 3 early cant see the harm its harder for longer this way right? oh my god its hard! walking planks I can just about manage, walking push ups no chance only on knees, jumping jacks with weights WTF? hard good though I followed it with davina super body for 20 mins too

Has anyone that's done level 3 thought that the faces anita pulls at the end during the side planks looks like she's in a porn shot, whats with that?! and during the supermans when jillian says, your gonna fly away arnt you buddy I literally LOL puts me off!

wallpaperaddict · 23/08/2013 22:48

iced well done! I really like the jumping jacks with weights! And the boxing with weights! I don't like the stupid rock star jumps, I can't see the point of those! The travelling push-ups are hard, but I manage to do them.

I've not really looked at their faces when they workout, I'll look tomorrow! I'm usually delirious with overheating by that point!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 23/08/2013 22:59

thanks im feeling mega motivated and actually really pleased with myself for sticking this out :)

I was only watching the screen cause I wasn't sure what I was meant to be doing, she almost made me blush lol, it really is a hard work out though the rock star jumps are ridiculous!

RippingYarns · 24/08/2013 12:04

Lots of hot and cold compresses should help your back , binks

Wallpaper, you are keeping me going, about to do D5 on L2 with raging hormones. This is gonna make or break me

lifesgreatquestions · 24/08/2013 13:00

Day 24, I've done two levels so this morning so a little additional work. I'm finding doing another level in addition to level 3 gets my heart rate up and the copious sweating so I feel better for it.

Iced, thatcomment makes me laugh too!

wallpaperaddict · 24/08/2013 13:48

Hey ripping! How did you get on? How are you finding L2?

Well done on day 24 life!

glenthebattleostrich · 24/08/2013 13:49

Level 2 Day 3 done :)

Binks, really sorry you've hurt yourself. Hope you feel better soon

I HATE plank pose. I mean, I really hate plank pose. Roll on level 3!!

RippingYarns · 24/08/2013 14:35

well, i'm not broken Grin

that was great. bloody hard going but great.

see you all tomorrow Wink

BinksToEnlightenment · 24/08/2013 14:56

Well, this was probably not the wisest move, but I did day eight of level two. I really didn't want to miss a day. I'm hooked - how weird! I never thought I'd be the type to catch the exercise bug.

I swapped any that hurt my back though, so no star jumps or the twisty jump. They got swapped for skipping. And I didn't do the abs move where you hold the weights up as I suspect that's what did me the mischief.

Apart from my back hurting, it was all kinda ok. I didn't get much of the usual PLEASEGODLETTHISENDSOON feeling.

glenthebattleostrich · 24/08/2013 15:39

Binks if I could raise my arms that high at the minute I'd take my hat off to you!! I am super impressed.

BinksToEnlightenment · 24/08/2013 17:05

Thank you glenthebattleostrich!

I would have been nursing my bad back in KFC this time a month ago. I'm impressed with myself!

wallpaperaddict · 24/08/2013 18:06

I'm feeling really deflated. I've got an old neck/ back injury which has had a monumental flare up today. I don't know if I pushed myself to hard yesterday, or if its the dire weather, but it hurts so much. I've just taken painkillers and am sat with a cold compress on. So no shred for me today. It's even more annoying as today I have on some skinny jeans that at the beginning of the month I couldn't even get on and it's really made me see the benefit of my hard work and gave me encouragement to keep it up. Sad Sad Sad

BinksToEnlightenment · 24/08/2013 21:38

wallpaperaddict - sorry to hear that you're having back problems too. A rest is sensible and then maybe an easier version for a few days?

lifesgreatquestions · 24/08/2013 22:09

Really sorry to hear about all the injuries, it's like a mini battle this regime!! keep your eye on those skinnies wall paper, I envy that kind of weight loss, I'm just building strength and tone, which I value, but I started on this to lose weight! Grr!

RippingYarns · 25/08/2013 09:37

So many injuries :(

Lots of rest and agree maybe back to L1 for a couple of days?

L2 is a hard slog, just done D6, blimey it's heavy going. But I did it :-D

wallpaperaddict · 25/08/2013 10:15

Morning everyone. No shred again for me today, my neck is agony.

ripping well done on completing day 6!

RippingYarns · 25/08/2013 10:19

Sorry to see that, wallpaper

I used those heat pads - and voltarol gel at night. Did I link to those yoga type exercises upthread? They have helped me no end

MrsMcGregor · 25/08/2013 10:42

Oh. My. God. I did it!!! Day 1 of Level 2. Loved it. Hard? Yes, very! Feel like I'm going to melt but what a breath of fresh air after 14 days on L1. Struggled with some bits, so much plank work but surprised myself with some exercises too. The final plank cardio in Circuit 3 where you jump your legs out to the side - well it was so much easier jumping out than stepping out. Even the last plank abs wasn't too bad. Those v-raises are tough by the time the second set of them comes round. Anyway, I'm on a high!

Now, remind me to read this back on Friday when I'm cussing it up and down!

So sorry to read of all the injuries - hope a day or two of rest or lighter stretches might help.

Huge well domes to everyone else. And to all those speaking of the horrors of L3, well I'm running for the hills!! Grin

BinksToEnlightenment · 25/08/2013 10:44

Level two day eight done. My back is still not right, but I did the star and twist jumps today.

milk · 25/08/2013 10:55

I'm back Grin

My thighs are better and come Tuesday I shall start shredding again Grin

Who else would like to start again on Tuesday?

TwentyTinyToes · 25/08/2013 16:23

I'm back too. Going to do 5 more days of level 1 before moving up. So, day 11, level 1 complete.

Will catch up later. Good luck to those shredding, hope those with injuries are soon back up to full strength.

BinksToEnlightenment · 25/08/2013 16:39

MrsMcGregor - I hate those V raises more than anything!

RippingYarns · 25/08/2013 17:22

Brilliant to see so many back on the shredmill ;)
