Make me shred

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 01/08/2013 07:53

The table is pulled out of the way. The jingly music is playing. Jillian is grinning at me and waiting to introduce me to her "two best girls helping us out". But I cannot bring myself to press play.
I did so well last week, a full week of shredding and watching what I eat. This week, Mr Motivation has left the building. I've already hada a square of chocolate.

Binks you may be onto something, fill water bottles as weights but put G&T in them, obv you'd need more than 2 but hey, needs must :)

Day 10 level 1 done.

I've just done my waist and hip measurements again and have added thigh (don't know why I didn't in the first place) and they are:

waist: 34 inch
hip: 38 inch.
Thigh: 22 inch each, they are definitely thinner, they no longer rub together all the way down to knee!

so pleased, that is a massive 3 inches off my waist and 2 off my hips. Today I am a very happy ostrich :)

RippingYarns · 20/08/2013 08:56

Ostrich, that's fantastic!

Day 2 level 2 here I come

wallpaperaddict · 20/08/2013 09:10

Morning! Good luck to everyone shredding today, I'll be doing mine this evening as off out with DC today and haven't found the time!

wallpaperaddict · 20/08/2013 09:13

glen that's an impressive inch loss! Well done!

glenthebattleostrich · 20/08/2013 09:19

Thanks, very pleased. Just tried on a dress which was a bit to tight but I want to wear for a wedding in 2 weeks (hence the shred dedication) and it almost fits - another couple of inches and I'm there.

BalloonSlayer · 20/08/2013 09:31

Gah!

Level 1 Day 3 done.

Getting a bit easier.

Was shocked and dismayed at how hard I found starting again. Still - onwards and upwards!

wallpaperaddict · 20/08/2013 09:35

glen I'm sure you'll fit in the dress!

I just weighed myself for this week, lost 2lbs! Happy with that!

balloon after day 5 it gets much easier! Keep at it!

BinksToEnlightenment · 20/08/2013 10:22

glenthebattleostrich - :o

I did a sober shred this morning. It was much easier. Damn! It would have been perfect if the key to success was vodka!

Day four level two. If I tense, I'm getting bum dimples. And my tummy looks tons flatter.

plusonemore - I'd say four days to see a little toning difference. Eight days to see some good tightening. By two weeks, you'll have a massive improvement. Level two is a big jump, but not as bad as the first day of level one. Level one day one is the worst.

Crunchymunchyhoneycakes · 20/08/2013 10:48

Just done level 1 day three! Oooft!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 20/08/2013 14:18

Day 16 done, shred level 2 15 mins steps cardio and 10 mins steps tone, not as much as I wanted to do but ds woke up!

BinksToEnlightenment · 20/08/2013 15:17

I have put on weight since starting this! But I look thinner. I hope muscle really does weigh as much as they say it does.

lifesgreatquestions · 20/08/2013 16:13

Wonderful to hear about all the physical changes!

I'd decided not to shred today and just get on with my period. Then I got to work and two people commented on my flatter stomach - they know I shred but I do trust at least one of them! So, damn it, I am now gearing up for a shred when I get home from work. I'm telling myself that being able to shred after work means that I won't have the rush and can laze in the bath afterward...

plusonemore · 20/08/2013 20:01

thanks binks. Now tell me about the aching- its murder today! Crunchy- does day 3 feel better?!
lifesgreat- did you manage it after work? I'm wondering if I will manage to do it before work in September as I plan to (am teacher) or if I'll end up dreading it when I get home!!

TwentyTinyToes · 20/08/2013 20:29

Hey, good to read all the positive changes and well done everyone! Grin

Well i have had an enforced rest from shredding, i had Saturday as a planned rest day and was going to start level 2 on Sunday. However, my granny was taken very ill on Saturday evening so Sunday i bundled both DC into the car and drove to my home town a couple of hours away so i could visit her. We are staying with my parents still and there is no time, or room, to shred. My granny is slightly better than she was but still very poorly, think we will be here until the weekend. So shredding is on hold, i have done lots of power walking with the buggy but it is not the same. My knees do work again though. Definitely back on it next week but might revisit level 1 for a few days. Lots of people have commented on how much slimmer/ toned i am looking so it must be working. I am missing it, or at least i miss the buzz when i have finished Wink

Good luck everyone.

lifesgreatquestions · 20/08/2013 21:41

I'm sorry to hear about your granny twenty. Hope she recuperates quickly.

Thanks plus, I did, and as it was day 10 of level 2, and as I did a crap half shred yesterday, I followed it with the level 3 shred, feeling virtuous again!

wallpaperaddict · 20/08/2013 22:44

twenty sorry to here your granny has been taken ill. Hope she makes a speedy recovery.

life well done on level 3 shred! How was it?

Well I didn't shred today. Took the DC for a day at the beach, making sure they had suncream, hats, plenty to eat and drink etc, only I didn't really eat, hardly drank and failed to adequately plaster myself in suncream! The result being that once I got everyone to bed this evening I was feeling really ropey. Blush So my plan is to do it first thing and start level 3! I've lost track what day I'm on with L2 but feel ready to progress now.

MrsMcGregor · 21/08/2013 10:03

Twenty, sorry to hear about your Granny. Hope she makes a good recovery.

Wallpaper ... level 3??? Yikes! Well done and good luck.

Everyone else - I think about this thread during the night when I wake up and think that I must do it tomorrow. So today I did ... day 12 and still sticking to Level 1. Put a bit more heart into it today and feeling better for it. I will do my utmost to spread daily on Thirs and Friday. Sat is out because I'm out from early til late but if I do the next two days I won't feel guilty.

BinksToEnlightenment · 21/08/2013 10:17

plusonemore - the aches continue, but in different places. Aches are a good sign though! It meansyou're getting stronger. Or as Jillian puts it, it's "fear leaving the body". :o

Day five level two done for me. I've nearly lost all my cellulite.

Crunchymunchyhoneycakes · 21/08/2013 10:53

Day 4 done, just read a thing on myfitnesspal forum that says Gm didn't intend it to be done every day but 3 or 4 times a week? Are people doing it every day or do you take days off? I'm sure this has been answered further up thread but too knackered to read back through!!!

Feel good though - feel like my waist is already more waist like!
Grin

Crunchymunchyhoneycakes · 21/08/2013 10:55

Oh and I'm logging it on myfitnesspal app so I keep track - if anyone was looking for a way that would work even if you don't want to count calories you could just enter your exercise alone.

IcedCoffeeQueen · 21/08/2013 11:17

will be doing day 17 after lunch, trying to decide what to order for finishing the shred, either ripped in 30 or 6 week 6 pack

IcedCoffeeQueen · 21/08/2013 14:04

Done level2, followed by steps aerobics and steps body combat - sweaty!

oh and ive ordered ripped in 30 Grin

wallpaperaddict · 21/08/2013 14:49

Ooh I need ideas for what to do after! I'll check out ripped in 30.

crunchy I've done it everyday, well 18 days then I had a day off, then yesterday I was unwell so missed a day, but will be back on it tonight. Generally we all try to do it everyday, but RL gets in the way from time to time!

Well done binks and mrsmc! iced That's so much, as my DS would say "that's epic"!

Today I was told I've slimmed down and my legs look fantastic! Glad someone's noticed all my hard work, cheers Jillian! Wink

glenthebattleostrich · 21/08/2013 16:59

I'm bidding on ripped in 30 and 6 weeks to 6 pack on ebay.

Think I want to do ripped next then the 6 pack one.

Feel rubbish today but determined to start level 2 once DD is in bed. I've just finished an epic nap and will diet coke up to give me the energy!

lifesgreatquestions · 21/08/2013 17:37

Wallpaper, I imagine you've done it by now but level three I think the time goes really quickly. That could also be because I've moved to doing it after work though and am not having to watch the clock so much. Totally easier than level 2. My upper arms are getting more of a work out though! let me know what you think!

Let me know how you get on those of you who are getting the ripped disc. When I bought this I also bought another dvd form trainers from the biggest loser show, it has a few different workouts. However, as time has moved on I'm thinking about compiling the moves I like and arranging them into my own routine so that I can listen to real music.

Hey ho, level three day 1 done! I have strong thigh muscles in place of marshmallows, loving that!
