Another week then!!!

Ball last night was fantastic although I did eat lots (and drank too)!. I did well during the day and only had 6 points running up to it, and I did save a few points during the week but definitely went over. I will have to work really hard this week!

Food was lovely though:
Black marlin on crushed new potatoes
Spinach and nutmeg soup
Veggie tartlets on rosti potato
Sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce (I know!!! But lovely )
Coffee and chocolate

To dink:
Champagne
1/2 bottle of wine
Baileys

Not going to work out the points!!! I did dance thouh and had to work home and up the stairs when got back - does that count?

Have friends staying tonight too so more alcohol.

BTW, I felt really great in my dress, and was told so too Was going to take a photo but forgot Might have to get dressed up again just to do it!

Actually don't know if anyone else has noticed this but after having the food I did get a bit of a dodgy tummy that night and this morning - not used to the richness of the dessert I guess.

I am even more determinerd to lose weight this week.
DP has spurred nme on by saying "I'm not marrying a whale". When I asked when, his reply was "When you are SIZE 10".
That rather upset me as I would look positively anorexic if I was a size 10.

hulababy · 07/02/2004 16:13

JanHR. Only way to successful diet I think is if you do it just for yourself and no one else. Once you are happy with the way you look - that is all that is important and when to stop too.

OP posts:
JanHR · 07/02/2004 16:16

He has now said he will settle for a size 12.
I would be happy with that as well.

lilibet · 07/02/2004 16:51

JanHR, out of curiosity, what size are you know?

When I was 9st 10 (I'm 5'5" my ex told me that he wouldn't have sex with me again until I lost weight and did something to make myself more attractive.

I am now quite a bit heavier than that, with some one else who thinks I look fantastic, have loads of good sex and am going to loose weight because I want to!

lilibet · 07/02/2004 16:52

dont know where that first wink came from!!

JanHR · 07/02/2004 16:58

I am currently a size 16 but can get into some 14s
I am only 4ft 11.5 in

emmatmg · 07/02/2004 17:35

Arrgghhhhhhh. Okay girls, after another rendevouz with cadbury's I'm going to resign...... I'm just so rubbish at dieting and have the will power of an ant so I'm giving up in the hope that these extra pounds will shift themselves before the summer, although I may need a small miracle for that.

I'll email the chief weight taker now.

marthamoo · 07/02/2004 17:47

JanHR, I think us Mumsnet Mamas might have to come round and collectively sit on your DP.

I had a curry and beer last night and am feeling very miserable today so having a Chinese with dh. Hopefully will wake up tomorrow with my go for it head back on.

melsy · 07/02/2004 17:56

Janh & lilibet some men are just SODS. men the sympathy of NATS.

Hula I think there must be a bug going round,as my neice & nephew had this stomach bug & I havent seen them & I now have it too.

Might loose weight this way!!

Lisa78 · 07/02/2004 18:08

Sorry to lose you emma - are you sure?
I haven't really lost anything, but am going to start again with renewed effort - and a points chart from hula! Am so stupid

hulababy · 07/02/2004 18:19

You are not stupid Lisa! It is so easy to put on without noticing over time. I just nbever tried to lose weight after DD was born. I have known for a while that I needed to lose weight but it was onlt because of this that I actually got weighed and realised how much I had to lose But I am getting there. I have lost 12 pounds in these 5 weeks and can now visably see my tummy and thighs getting smaller. Last night I actually felt really good in my cocktail dress and made me even more determined to lose the rest of the weight before my August holiday too.

I have fallen off the waggon the last two weeks but have managed to stick to my points since Thursday. Went to my WW meeting and she passed round a pound of lard flattened in a plastic bag. It was so disgusting that it gave me the kick up the backside I needed.

Mr Cadbury's has a lot to answer for. However, the light chocolate mousse frozen is good, 1.5 points, very chocolately and lasts for ages.

Dinner tonight is Sainsbury's BGTY Chicken Tikka Makhani (3 points) and rice, very tasty for low fat ready meal.

Lisa78 · 07/02/2004 19:23

thanks hula - am just having a bit of a downer on myself lately
must chant "I am fabulous" 10 times a day!

marthamoo · 07/02/2004 22:53

Lisa, you ARE fabulous.

Demented · 08/02/2004 14:16

Glad you had a nice time at the ball Hulababy!

I've had a bad, bad, bad couple of days foodwise, AF is due in the next few days to a week (never been very good at keeping track) and I could eat for Scotland!

Kittypickle · 08/02/2004 15:51

I seem to have deleted half of my last post. Wanted to say Lisa78 that if you haven't had to worry about your weight before it must take a bit of time to adjust. Don't be hard on yourself, you will do it and you might not have lost much yet but at least you haven't put loads more on.

Demented · 08/02/2004 20:43

Tomorrow is another day, today has been a bad one, I am having massive sugar cravings and my DH has had fat cravings, this resulted in him taking me for an all-day-breakfast and me eating the kids' sweets.

Lisa78 · 08/02/2004 20:47

Thanks MM and KP! I am fabulous, I am fabulous!

We went to a christening today and as I was feeding DS2, I sent DH to the buffet on my behalf - was he in trouble when he came back with my food.
Pizza
Pork pie - which I bloody hate
Great slab of fatty lamb and fatty ham - hate fat on meat
Garlic bread
potato salad
chips
egg sandwich - for the egg princess, can't eat egg unless I cook it myself
Cheese, sausage and pickled onions on sticks

I was more pissed off cos he knows I am trying to lose weight for one thing, but to bring me back a plateful of food I don't even like...

Lisa78 · 08/02/2004 20:48

Demented - a pear always helps with my sugar cravings, bananas too
Or some tinned fruit in juice - that tends to taste quite sweet

hulababy · 08/02/2004 20:49

LOL Lisa! My DH can be as bad when choosing food for me. He has even been known to bring me back chicken or ham - yet he has only ever known me as a non-meat eater.

My trick for avoiding the fatty foods when out with DH is - make him do the diet as well

OP posts:
Lisa78 · 08/02/2004 20:55

I sent him back for different food - having made him feel really bad with my sad face! I told him that I felt quite upset that after all our years together, he didn't know my food likes and dislikes or he did but didn't think about it. Especially knowing that I feel fat and frumpy, to not get me salady things, rather than fatty things felt very unsupportive....
His second attempt was much better

And the oscar this year for best actress goes to...

Demented · 08/02/2004 21:04

Oh Lisa, I've had a Tesco all-day-breakfast (three sausages, two rashers of bacon, two hash browns, two fried eggs and a tomato), two cappuccinos and two frys cremes, chicken chow mein (homemade not too bad but probably had too much of it, in a bid not to snack anymore), some jelly babies, some Haribo (yuck, woudn't normally touch them), then in a healthy bid some low fat yoghurt, honey and a banana, then ice cream and maple syrup!!! Arrrrgh! Now this is how I probably got in this mess in the first place!

Demented · 08/02/2004 21:06

Agree that men are useless at picking food!

Lisa78 · 08/02/2004 21:09

So. no tinned fruit then demented!
