My water diet

I need to loose weight. but how?

I'm far too busy to concentrate on what I eat, how much and when.

It stresses met out when I have to prepare special foods & drinks for myself in advance because we are going to a friends' or have guests or travelling or whatever.

We have 6 kids and I'm just so busy. 4 at school, 2 at home, there's always something more important than weighing and calculating my little portions of pasta.
I always get interrupted and distracted.

Plus baby is only 13 months and is a mummy's girl, so I rarely get anything done - like tidying or being organized.
I'm not even going to talk about lack of sleep.

the house is a mess and I DH is about to have an operation, then there are holidays and birthdays and so on. It's just too much.

Weight Watchers always worked for me, so my plan is to go back in September, but as for now I can not fully commit to it.
I can't do it half-arsed.

that's all very well, but what about for the next 3 months?
my birthday is at the end of August and we are going on holiday and I really want to loose about 2 stones (which I did with WW 2 years ago, so I know I can) and wear my prettier clothes and feel just healthier.

So I came up with an idea.

WATER DIET!

I've heard countless of times and from various sources that half the time (or so) we eat because we are thirsty, not hungry. that not enough water is one of the reasons we over-eat.

so I thought that I will drink 2 litres of water everyday and will not worry about what I eat and when and how much. And see if that makes a difference.

See if it helps me reduce cravings, if it fills me up to reduce food intake.
or flush out toxins. or help me feel less tired.
And most importantly if it helps me to get slimmer.
I've got nothing to loose - just the extra weight!Grin

Join me if you like.

Hello can I come and join you! Read the thread 2 nights ago and it gave me a bit if a kick up the bum to start sorting myself out! I'm a bit like you amazing in that I am waiting until September to get back on the diet properly but until then I am going to concentrate on drinking more water and eating more fruit and veg.
Yesterday i managed my 2 litres of water and weeed for England Grin but it was good tho. Am also starting my mornings of with a massive mug of hot water and lemon
Well done on your losses so far and hopefully will be joining you soon

amazingmumof6 · 20/06/2013 08:06

hi golden!

glad you are here and good plan!Wink

I ate something bad yesterday and feel really sick.
I'm having Brew for now, hopefully I can drink some water later.
I'm getting the kids ready for school, then I might just have to lie down.
I feel awful!

Goldensunnydays81 · 20/06/2013 13:54

How as you feeling now amazing? Hope you aren't too ill!

amazingmumof6 · 20/06/2013 22:42

thanks golden a bit better, but couldn't face any water today.

it seems I can do really well for a week, then I get distracted. it alternates like that.

started 4 weeks ago, and will weigh again tomorrow.
I think even a pound loss is better than nothing, considering I made no effort to eat healthier or exercise more!
we shall see.

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 20/06/2013 22:44

it was cream that caused the trouble, must have been slightly off last night.
sniffed what was left of it in fridge this afternoon - bleurgh!

OP posts:
Goldensunnydays81 · 21/06/2013 07:55

How did the weigh in go? Rubbish about the cream tho!
Managed my 2 litres yesterday done the same as you and filled up a 2 litre bottle and am just sat drinking my mug of warm. Think I am going to struggle a bit today tho as it is working day today at our cafe which is fine but it is on a beach and about a 10 minute walk away from the nearest toilet Shock oh well i shall try!

amazingmumof6 · 21/06/2013 12:40

I put on a bit, but I don't mind.

in all honesty I think my scales are broken.
the display bit looked weird last week ( when I lost a bit) and it weighed itself this morning when I switched it on!

I supposed to lightly tap it, but had to really whack it a few times lately to switch it on at all.

I'm buying a new one next week, and start a fresh.

been out all morning so had no water so farShock Blush
will start after lunch

amazingmumof6 · 21/06/2013 12:40

you need a portapotty! Grin

OP posts:
Goldensunnydays81 · 21/06/2013 14:35

Haha! Portapotty would be good! It was raining so have managed to come home early and am well on my way through the 2 litres Grin
Decided I am going to join you in the Friday morning weigh in! Although wasn't to happy with my scales this morning :(
Rubbish you have got to get new ones but at least you can be sure they are accurately weighing you each week! Do you manage to resist the urge to not weigh in between?
Does anyone else emotionally eat I am really bad at it when I am stressed or upset which seems to be lots of the time at the moment! Just need to find a way to snap out of it!

amazingmumof6 · 22/06/2013 01:27

I bought gorgeous new scales! will post photo when delivered!

I do get tempted on Tuesdays, but by Friday I almost forget to do itGrin

OP posts:
Goldensunnydays81 · 23/06/2013 09:20

Had a water drinking fail yesterday! ManAged about 500 ml Confused but am back on it today! Felt rubbish yesterday!
How is everyone else getting on! Where did you get your scales from amazing? We're they expensive?

amazingmumof6 · 23/06/2013 10:24

I'll link it later.
they are Salter ones, with union flag design.
I ordered 2 for both bathrooms £7.99 each plus p&p.

they arrived on Saturday and are awesome!

amazingmumof6 · 23/06/2013 10:31

and I weighed again this morning - I lost 3lb and a quarter in a month!

not dieting, no extra exercise!
no buying, preparing, cooking, weighing and eating special food just for me!
no counting points, no stress, no guilt!
and I still lost weight!
and I haven't even drank my daily quotas every day!

(and had chicken kebab with chips last night!)

not bad!Wink

Hi, I'm following Paul McKenna's hypnotic garlic band and really need to up my water intake. I've become a bit of a coffee addict, so would really like to cut down on the caffeine and replace some of it with water.

Great that you've managed to lose weight just by water.

Fairygen · 26/06/2013 17:29

Hypnotic GASTRIC band!!! Autocorrect!!

amazingmumof6 · 26/06/2013 19:10

Grin although I do like the idea of a Garlic Band!

like a rock band of vegetables?

I don't know about hypnotic stuff, I'm sceptical about those things.

have you lost weight with it?

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 26/06/2013 19:11

and thanks! Haven't been drinking my target lately as I keep forgettingBlush

OP posts:
Goldensunnydays81 · 26/06/2013 19:29

Can you tell I have been rubbish the last few days! Haven't posted on here as I have felt rubbish about not sticking to my target of 2 litres a day and have eaten too much chocolate Confused
Love the sound of a garlic band he he! Do you think it is working? I have got the Paul McKenna CDs ( I can make you thin) that I found helped a lot with not picking at rubbish food! Must start with those again too!
How's everyone else getting on? Amazing have your scales arrived?

Fairygen · 26/06/2013 19:42

Tbh, this is my second time round with the band. The first time I lost a stone in a month, but didn't use the tapping technique he gives you to make you feel good. After about 6 weeks I gave up because I was so miserable. I think I also over used the cd, it actually worked too well!!

This time I'm following it 100% and feel great.

amazingmumof6 · 26/06/2013 19:55

hi Golden

you see the idea of this thread is to keep posting whether you are having a good day or a bad one!

I try to post everyday, just to remind myself or put my plan in writing, so it's more black and white than just thinking it.

my DD has been ill since Saturday, and the really annoying thing is that if I kept drinking lots of water everyday I would probably cope better.

but I keep forgetting and live on chocolate (are you my twin?Grin) so I make things worse.
just had burgers and chips for dinner, takeaway as I'm too exhausted to cook. so now I can't drink water, I'd be sick.

I do what I used to do at Weight Watchers - draw a line underneath and start afresh.

tomorrow is another day.

221193087663 that is the item number of the scales on Ebay, can't link photo.

Scales are lovely!

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 27/06/2013 21:38

I should be ashamed of myself. I drank hardly any water in the last few days - and the next two days I'll be out a lot, toilet access is limited, so I really can't tank up with water.

my apologies to let anyone down.

I'm starting afresh on Sunday.

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 28/06/2013 10:01

I have put on a bit. quite predictable.

annoying, but it doesn't matter that much. I'm going to drink the 2 litres today, I'm determined.

anyone else is struggling?

or doing well?

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 01/07/2013 23:50

ooh I've been neglecting my own thread!

just finished 2 litres for today [proud]

I must carry on doing that. I really need to loose weight and be healthier.

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 03/07/2013 23:27

did well today again, but not quite the whole lot.

it's fine.

I wish I wasn't talking to myself though.
