Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

Thank you very...i will remember that,...I will have to look at the Gym but i am just doing one thing at a time....I have done a few milestones this year and "ticked" the box as such and a gym is on the list. I will wait till the end of this week for a weigh in. I am trying really hard and I would like this to be a natural way of life for me and everyone that does this.
As for the Gordon Ramsey thing .... well...he doesnt impress me much either but cooking wise..sure he knows his stuff....standing there going off his trolley every 5 minutes...very unattractive lol

Well im off to work now everyone...so have a fantastic day and thank you again for your comments...i am taking them all on board :)

Rules · 28/08/2013 01:22

Have a good day cam.
verycam when Gordons not on his silly Chef show he can be really nice to people and quite the charmer (yes I know hes an adulter too) but just something about him........but my all time favourite is of course Mr. Bruce Willis.....now that man just gets better with age. Mind you, my OH is the real deal.....tall, broad, dark and handsome and an action man with an action job to boot. Sigh!!!

Morning Ladies, since Ive started eating wheat free and cutting out refined sugar im actually feeling a bit better. No wind (taa daa!!!) and headaches seem to have lessened. Although they are just little headaches that come on when I am overexcited or stressed its a positive result. You ladies who don't eat gluten, have you tried any of the lovely paleo blogs that all cook completely without wheat or processed food of any kind. They make some wonderful cakes, deserts, donuts, breakfast cereals ....anything really, you name it. Amazing and all full of healthy ingredients like almond flour, coconut, real maple etc. If you have already found these lovely blogs then what do you think? If you havnt found them I would be more than happy to link to some of the "lovliest ones". Smile
Otherwise food wise everything good. Lost a few more pounds Grin, still listenings to cds and find its such a way of life now and no hating yourself which is always a bonus.

Rules · 28/08/2013 10:05

disclaimer (lol).......when I say "healthy" ingredients I mean that they are ingredients that are not processed do not contained chemicals or additives of any kind and therefor are better for people like me who seem to not do well with the wheat or the sugaror additives etc . Phew!!!!!! Don't want anyone to get me wrong here. Smile

cammry · 28/08/2013 10:27

lol that sounds healthy to me...so no i havent and i am happy to have a look, see how we go ah.....well just had a challenge tonight..had to go out for tea...but i think i did ok....well no doubt i will find out in due course.
glad u have found that wheat and sugar free are working for you. I cut out all refined sugar around 3 mths ago and i dont miss it as long as i have fruit. have fallen off the wagon twice thou...
im not sure what OH is...but guessing its yr husband....so good that u have a good one lol....i have a good one too :)
off to listen to the cd...when do u weigh rules - like once a week or more often or less?

Rules · 28/08/2013 10:43

Well I try and not weight, Im into measuring because the scales don't tell the full story. I have a gym in my garden and I use it most days doing girly weights and treadmill or walking round here on the hills sooooo.......my body is also shrinking size wise but muscles getting bigger and as muscles weigh heavier than fat.......see where im going here? So hence me saying that the scales don't tell the full story.
With regards to not eating sugar, glad that its working for you. Mind you I don't eat sweetners at all, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, yucky things. ha ha.

Rules · 28/08/2013 10:43

weigh!!!!!!! grrrrrrr!!!!! nor weight

Rules · 28/08/2013 10:47

O but to actually answer your question.......I weigh probably once a week sometimes every two weeks but in the beginning its probably best to aim for maintainence.
There is a lady on here who has started on this journey and has a facebook site. She is soooo pleased as she is maintaining her weight, not losing, not gaining, but maintaining and all while eating whatever she wants rather than dieting and she is thrilled. She wants to lose a little but sees the maintaining as a huge victory considering her dieting history. Have a look. she did send a link somewhere if you scrole back a few pages. Shes called "thepuddingprincess".

KeepTheFaithBaby · 28/08/2013 10:48

Hello all! I fell off the thread - I was still following! Things are going ok in Faithland. Just feeding the munchkin before we head into town for DH's birthday present. Will read back and catch up!

cammry · 28/08/2013 11:02

I too do not eat any sweeteners...as u say yukky things...yes must get into the right mind set still...agreed..its not the number on the scale...its how u feel and how the clothes are fitting i reckon...i would love to maintain after i have lost...i do have to get rid of the weight first before i maintain...a definite must...

cammry · 28/08/2013 11:05

sorry faith falling off the thread is probably because of me yappin on....hope u have a lovely day out....

KeepTheFaithBaby · 28/08/2013 11:28

No it's just me not getting round to posting! Hello by the way cammry. I'm Faith, been Pauling about 18 months but had a baby 4 months ago (contributes to lack of posting).

By the way, I think I've been struggling due to the mirena coil. I've been very bloated and craving sugar since I had it. I've had awful mood swings too so it's coming out tomorrow and hopefully things will be a bit easier!

I've got into town but Faithlet had dozed off so I'm MNtting from the car (3G!) while she snoozes!

veryberrybug · 28/08/2013 16:50

hello all.

nice to hear all the positivity here, & yes rules i'd love to have a neb at the link please, i used to like doughnuts. in fact, if i had a car & could drive i'd probably drive out to the krispy kreme donut shop, buy a dozen & eat them all now. sigh it's been a bit of a down day here, i haven't felt the urge to emotionally eat for a long while but i'm feeling it today. the worst thing is: i know it won't hit the spot (what i've had has not tasted that good), i know i'll feel no better (& probably worseSad) but for some reason i'm resisting doing the havening or tapping??! bloody self-sabotage, tsh. just sooo tired & fed up & now i really need to sort my life out but i've got no steam with which to tackle small yet seemingly insurmountable obstacles oops sorry, had to get that off me chest.

anyhoo, i still feel a bit hungry, but i want real meal savoury food so i think i'd better go & make a start on tea. veg required to flush through system as v windy - must be the stress of feeling like everything's shite.

rules glad your dietary changes agreeing with you, it's the nicest feeling when you find out how to feel better.

faith nice to hear from you, reminds me of when i was BFing DD1 & i always used that time to catch up on texts Smile

cammry i know the feeling, i'm happy maintaining but would love to be in the position of maintaining after having shed my spare tyre(s) LOL! oh well, half a stone down, 2 and a half stone to go... Hmm

veryberrybug · 28/08/2013 16:53

p.s. faith i had a similar experience on the mini-pill, my god i went like a crabbit psycho. as soon as i stopped i was fine again, like night & day. hope it's the same for you once coil's out.

Rules · 28/08/2013 17:18

Hi very ....don't worry. Do the havening anyway and it you still want to eat then eat but don't beat yourself up or feel guilty that way it doesn't have as much impact. But make sure you eat something really good that's worthy of your feelings like good choc or good cake if you can.

Rules · 28/08/2013 17:19

and half a stone is brilliant when you consider your eating normally.

Good Morning Everyone

faith well done for keeping this up for so long...you are really committed and with a little munchkin as well (congrats btw)...so well done hey.
very im with rules on this one...try havening but sometimes if u try to be good u end up eating more good stuff and it doesnt cut it for you and you should have just eaten 1 bad thing in the first place....So i get that...dont beat yourself up...u will be back on the wagon tomorrow :) half stone is excellent too btw, as is rules 1 stone...I just hope to get there where u guys are.
rules thanks for the websites,...i will have a look when i get home from work tonight..thank u very much.

Everyone have a great day or more likely night....will speak again really soon.... xx

puddingprincess · 28/08/2013 23:16

Hi everyone haven't been on here for a week or so but still giving this everything I can. I've had some really good experiences in the last 2 weeks, where I've felt completely different to anything I've felt in years! But today has been abit of a down day, I didn't feel very well, which I'm not used to to be honest and I ate things that I wasn't fully hungry for,eg a pudding I didn't really need to eat! Being the pudding princess and all I was hoping it wouldn't matter lol but I feel guilty :( the kind of guilty when I had eaten 'bad' on a diet and this is the first time in 2 and a half weeks I've felt it,and I really don't want it to affect the rest of my week! I've loved reading all of your experiences and was glad to see that it can take 6months to really get the hang of things but had any one else experienced this and if so did u get past it ok and carry on without the guilt? Sounds so silly I know :-/ I also haven't done any exercise which I know always makes me feel more positive so I'm going to do some tomorrow and see if it helps. I'm sorry I can't name specific people in this message,I don't have much battery left to scroll but I really do value this forum,it's great to read and very helpful. Thanku also to people that are following my experiences on Facebook, the advice is very welcome :) good night xx

Rules · 29/08/2013 15:15

Hi pudds what your going through is perfectly normal and is part of you re learning how to eat normally. The thing is to not let it affect you and to not give up at the first hurdle. Like anything this woe has its ups and downs but if you can accept that sometimes you will still eat for the sake of it then you can just let go and move on and start again straight away....ie...don't eat again until you feel that hunger. In fact if you overeat one day and get back on this without beating yourself up about it then you can tune in to your bodies signals and probably find that you don't eat much the next day anyway.

puddingprincess · 29/08/2013 17:21

Thank you Rules that's really encouraging :) x

puddingprincess · 29/08/2013 18:58

I've took a photo of what u wrote,defo good advice!thanku again :) x

Rules · 29/08/2013 23:41

The other ladies will be along at some point with their own words of encouragement cause we all have times when we eat just because we want to.
