Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

hello all i'm back fe my jolly holibags! what a lovely lot of pauling chat there is to catch up on, i especially like the BBQ talk - i find now that merely walking past a green park in the sun is enough to trigger burger cravings! but seriously, you guys are all inspirational. Smile

OMG i totally agree about the heat stopping appetite, when we were having a magic time in la belle france the heatwave came to us too (35°c, aaaiiiieee!!), & i found myself just totally uninterested in food between ~11am & 5pm! having said that the rest of the time i enjoyed a fair whack of chips, Wine chocolate & cheese (& even baguette, overbloodyjoyed it didn't gurgle my guts like other wheat products do??!) but i'm happy to report i've lost a whopping half a stone & 1" off my tum ! it takes me back to when i first came on here & lovely faithy pointed out that even if it was unrealistic to lose all my weight before holiday (9weeks i had), that i wouldny suffer with the same dieter's holiday splurge weight gain if i was Pauling - thanks & how true! Thanks

rules have you tried dr. stuart's valerian tea for sleeping? me & my mum swear by it.

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 01:50

Hi Very nice to see you again. Glad you had a wonderful holiday. And Wow!!!!.....well done on the weight loss....go you !!! Grin
No I havnt tried Valerian tea. Will have to get some. I think the heat has stopped me sleeping. When I was a little girl in Oz and I couldn't sleep because of the heat, my dad used to put a wet wrung out towel over me and this kept me cool whilst also giving me the feeling of a secure cover. Am seriously considering doing that again. But the weather is lovely isn't it. I went to the gym again today. Weights, biking, lunges, sit ups etc. When im on the bike I have to read mumsnet just to take my mind of the time and before I now it 20 mins has gone. Legs getting much more toned now. Yay.

KeepTheFaithBaby · 15/07/2013 07:41

I love it when I'm right! Grin glad yoi had a nice time berry!

veryberrybug · 15/07/2013 11:28

good morning all Smile

rules i like the sound of your gym-shed Grin but don't you find it hard to motivate yourself to do it? i used to do weights & a stepping machine in my bedroom but found that when life got busy i would just do this, that & the other first & then oops no time left...

i totally love this warm weather! especially after last year's pisspoor effort at summer. i can't believe we've been away for the best bit of british summer since forever! but now i'm back i'll need to watch as my appetite seems to have massively increased again Hmm & if i've been on the Wine (never on a school night... oh! pished every night for next month then?!) the next morning i can just eat chocolate til it comes out my ears! don't want to set back my good result... oh no does that sound like dieter talk?Shock

i mean on holiday it's easy to be mindful & take your time with eating but back here i may be rushing off with kids & well, it's easier to go to pot... onto my pot belly! i'll just need to remind myself how horrifyingly nice it was when i'd a pp moment on return journey: got out of car & troos nearly fell down!! Grin Grin Grin

ppeatfruit · 15/07/2013 12:08

That is sooo weird i thought I posted but it didn't seem to take Hmm .Anyway I'm sooo glad you had a lovely holyers and our weather (which is the same as Eng. ATM) Veryberry and congrats on the weight loss and waist loss Grin Did you make La Rochelle? Lol at your PP moment !!!

rules I'm a bit like very about gym stuff I admire your dedication!! While I'm doing housework (i sometimes go on my tip toes, plie and remember to pull in my belly it's very effective for toning).

HadA summer is special with a L.O. when you don't have to worry about them running about and getting into everything!!

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 12:34

Hi Ladies,

I opened the curtains and I was like " O Where is the sun"!? It is completely misty outside. I live right by the sea so that is usually where the mist rolls in from and I am sure that the sun is up there high above the mist. Sigh....still its a welcome cool break.

very pp I think my motivation comes from the fact that my gym shed is only a stones through away. Its a very big shed and is about the size of a double bedroom. It has a running maching, a weights bench, exercise bike, yoga mats, extension bench, etc etc and has a man in the corner for doing martial arts practice on. High kicks etc. It has electricity and music and heating so there really is no excuse is there. My dh built it about 8 years ago and we all use it. When you open both the doors you can exercise with views of the sea. And when doing yoga its very tranquil. I used to do a lot of running till I got my shin splints and although I still do it a little I have found the bike my best friend. I have an outdoor bike too but don't get out on that as much...sooo many mountains round here.

ppeatfruit · 15/07/2013 13:07

Wow effing'ell Rules [envy Envy Grin you lucky thing !!!! can I come to yours and just look at the sea (not in the mist of course though I love sea mist actually it's magical Grin)

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 14:45

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 14:47

Mist rolling back....boeth boeth boeth!!!!

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 15:00

hot hot hot.....yn Gymraeg (Welsh)

ppeatfruit · 15/07/2013 15:46

We' re related by marriage to Welsh people now but i'm ashamed I don't speak it. (stealth boast alert !) we're related to Jimmy Nail now!!

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 19:07

Ooo used to love Jimmy

Rulesgirl · 15/07/2013 20:35

Do they actually speak Welsh then pp.?

veryberrybug · 15/07/2013 22:40

my mum's fella is welsh & i have to admit i love the accent, especially the way he says "over here" like "ovah yeuuh" ach sod it it looks crap written phonetically! rules do you know folk that speak welsh? i'm assuming being aussie you never grew up with it... can i pop down to your glorious glam-shed too? sounds magic, nae wonder you're a toned wafting in the mist goddess!! Grin

pp didny make it to la rochelle after all, TBH after 2days in car didny want to go anywhere further than walking distance for a good few days. then it was roasting & i thought kids would be happier in pool, also DP was just melted into a wee scottish puddle so i never got to see nearly as much of the local area as i'd've liked Sad we made it down to les sables d'olonne zoo (to meet up with friends also on hols) 2 days before we left which was good & leafy ! maybe i'll live in hope we go back & it's cooler, but i won't suggest it at least until a while after the credit card's paid off!

Rulesgirl · 16/07/2013 00:32

very Im up in the very Welsh speaking area of North Wales or Gogledd as its known. So the accent is very different to down south Smile. Welsh is the everyday spoken language here and is spoken everywhere and schools, shops, hospitals, offices etc all speak Welsh every day. English is spoken by tourists and incomers. My husband is Welsh and speaks it every day as do my children except when talking to English friends. My Dad and my Nain are Welsh too and I also speak Welsh but only use it when speaking to Welsh people or if im feeling like it.
Your hols sound lovely. Glad you had a good time albeit a hot one. Were all going very brown here just doing the normal day to day stuff. Everyone everywhere seems to look like they have just spent 2 weeks in Spain lol.

Rulesgirl · 16/07/2013 02:59

Please do join us in the "shed" very......plenty of room Grin Grin Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/07/2013 08:23

Morning !! Your area sounds full on Welsh Rules our lot are from Cardiff so speak some but not hugely IYSWIM. Jimmy came to the wedding ceremony but is very (celebrity shy) Grin so didn't hang around.

Were you in a gite with no shade then very? we've got lots of trees and shutters and it's a very old stone house so we're quite cool and lovely! shame you couldn't have made La Rochelle but IKWYM about the car in the heat I hate it too.

ppeatfruit · 16/07/2013 08:26

Next time we're over it would be great to attend a 'shed' party!!!! how far is it from London? Grin

KeepTheFaithBaby · 16/07/2013 09:09

Morning!

I went to uni in Cardiff so was there for 4 years. I liked it but it rained, a lot! Not much Welsh spoken as a general rule but my housemate studied for a degree in Welsh.

I am generally liking the weather but its too hot at night! Worrying about Faithlet overcooking! Still feeling good about Pauling and managed to listen to the CD the last two nights. I used headphones but I hate that at night so have ordered a speaker pillow online.

I want to come to the shed too! :)

ppeatfruit · 16/07/2013 10:43

Hey Rules it looks like we'll ALL be up your way this summer!!! You better start cleaning and making the elderflower wine now!! (i'd bring some but it doesn't travel well esp. if we come by plane! Grin).

Rulesgirl · 16/07/2013 11:14

hehe!!! I'm about eight hours from London....up near Anglesey.Wink

ppeatfruit · 16/07/2013 12:05

Oh dear Sad it won't be just yet then (that's as far away as we live from London Shock)

Rulesgirl · 16/07/2013 12:35

he he .....sorry. People always think of Wales and think of South Wales where the (Gavin) and Stacy accent is from. Here up North were Welshy Welsh . Our newspapers are in Welsh, Tv Channel and everything conducted through the medium of Welsh lol!!

Rulesgirl · 16/07/2013 13:02

I'm a Welsh Australian. But my mother is Irish American.
