Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - starts 29/4 - come and sign up!

BIWI · 23/04/2013 08:19

Come and sign up if you want to join us. We start on Monday and Bootcamp will run for 10 weeks.

Each week we will weigh in using the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness which is set up and maintained by the lovely WillieWaggleDagger.

You will also see, if you look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet, the rules as well as the list of allowed veg, and all manner of other resources to help you.

So that Willie can get the spreadsheet set up in time for our first weigh-in on Monday, please can you all sign in if you want to join?

I'll start the list, so just add your name and then cut and past the list and re-post it.

Ive already signed up but realise I weigh 158 lbs (and not 147 as I said earlier). Im nearly as heavy as I was when I was pregnant! Feel awful..

JakeBullet · 28/04/2013 09:18

Don't panic geologygirl, I'm heavier and 158lbs seems a distant dream Grin. I will get there.....and you will be even thinner so I will still be envying you.

geologygirl · 28/04/2013 09:29

Was just a bit of a shock because I weighed 147 a few weeks ago. Ive been stuck in with my chickenpox infected toddler....and have eaten so much crap out of sheer boredom!

But yes we will definitely get there! At least we are doing something about the flab :-)

middleagedspread · 28/04/2013 09:40

Please would someone kindly add me? I can't/don't know how to copy & paste.

changeforthebetter · 28/04/2013 10:19

Plucked up the courage to weigh myself yesterday 10st 3lb Hmm That is about a stone over the weight which makes me feel healthy. It explains why my wardrobe options are narrowing, why I was starting to get breathless after any exertion. I've been sort of lo-carb lite this weekend. No bread, pasta, potatoes or sugar. Based on ideas from the Briffa book. I feel much more energetic and I'm not hungry. Spinach cooked in a ton of olive oil and butter was great Grin I'm sure some of this is psychological but hey, so what Smile

CiderwithBuda · 28/04/2013 11:10

JakeBullet - what is ubercamp please?

topsi · 28/04/2013 12:21

can someone remind me about the levels of carbs we should be eating to lose weight please I have forgotten. Lost weight last year low carbing but they have been creeping back in and my waitline is creeping up again.
My 2 squares of dark choc a day have increased to half a bar 10g carbs!! eeek, I need to get back on the straight and narrow!

DorisIsWaiting · 28/04/2013 12:27

Hi Biwi can I sign up again too. been roughly low carbing since the last boot camp (manageed to lose 1.5 stone last time).

Am now 80.2kg (have been getting my carb cravings out of the way this weekened!)

Finbar · 28/04/2013 12:27

HI BIWI Finbar back again!
...still thankfully much lighter than originally ( It didn't all go back on!)..just need to lose a bit more for summer.

Can you remind me when looking at carb content of foods - it is anything under 3.0 g per 100g is generally ok?

And what the difference between Carbs and the subdivision on some labelling of 'Sugars'? Is one more important than the other?
Cheers

MummyAisha · 28/04/2013 13:01

Thank you plinkyplonks for adding me to the list

Just about to go out to do my shopping in prep to start tomorrow. Scouring the site for meal ideas to plan my weeks menu

toomuchtoask · 28/04/2013 13:42

Can I join? Do I add myself to the spreadsheet? This is my first time doing low carbing.

Yoghurty · 28/04/2013 13:47

Right, I'm all ready.
Did a big shop yesterday and stocked up on meat, veg and butter!
I've been LC-ing since January but have been eating dark chocolate and 'baking', so am looking forward to going back to basics.

Roll on tomoro Grin

Tigglette · 28/04/2013 14:01

Can I join in please, I did the last one very loosely but managed to loose a good bit of weight and have kept it off so far - though I can see carbs creeping back in there. I'm on iPad so can't cut and paste the list....

Off shopping this afternoon for provisions

Ilisten2theradio · 28/04/2013 14:22

Me too please, but I wont be able to start and keep it up until the week after.
I have been low carbing since Jan though and have lost 18lb so far. I will be low carbing as much as possible next week but life is going to get in the way too much to be able to commit to bootcamp until the week after.

TreeLuLa · 28/04/2013 15:56

Hello!

Me too please. Lost a stone on the last bootcamp - hoping for the same again
Grin

Francois · 28/04/2013 16:16

Please can you add me too. Apologies I'm on phone and not mastered copying and pasting yet

Hoping to lose a stone or so, always found low carb very effective in shifting weight in the past. It's keeping it off that's the problem for me!

Lavenderhoney · 28/04/2013 17:04

Mr lavenderhoney wants to join in as well:) he won't be posting though, is he still allowed to be on the spreadsheet?

I am toying with having a final vodka and tonic or a big glass of water. Or a cocktail. Complete with swizzle stick:)

prettybird · 28/04/2013 17:06

My dh (aka Handsomebird) was on the spreadsheet but didn't post.

warzonemummy · 28/04/2013 18:15

Please add me. I weigh 150lb and want to get back to my per baby weight of 120lb. I am breast feeding my almost nine month old. She is having three meals so I guess she should be okay.

I will add myself on spreadsheet and will add my aunt there too she is not on mn so she can't add herself here. Lets call her warzoneaunty

Ilovemyteddy · 28/04/2013 18:43

I'm in, having spectacularly fallen off the wagon in the past few weeks. I need The Big Stick to be waved in my direction Grin

colette · 28/04/2013 18:57

Yama · 28/04/2013 19:54

This has been my carbiest weekend for ages. We had family round yesterday and today. I cooked yesterday and we ate out today. When you are not Bootcamping the carbs just creep up don't they? Peppers and spring onion in the salad, balsamic vinegar in the dressing, Stornaway black pudding in the stuffed chicken. Grin It was lovely though.

Right, am off to munch on a piece of dark chocolate before it's contraband.

Yama · 28/04/2013 20:02

Oh, and for dinner tonight, I fried some sausages in chicken fat (from yesterdays roasted chicken thighs). I made cauli rice then fried it in the chicken/sausage juices, chopped the sausages and re-added. Went down well with the kids (and me). I added peas to the kids portions.

Quick and easy.
