So here it is - come and weigh in for the last time and tell us how much you've lost in Bootcamp.

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

Beryl it takes a few day I think, poss up to 5? Once you are ketogencially adapted then I think it gets quicker eg one bad day won't necessarily knock you out for very long if you get straight back on it.

I think your food looks fine. Water will water it down anyway and apparently you don't want it to be too dark on those sticks as it means you aren't drinking enough water if that makes sense. Keep going and try again in a few days time.

sybilfaulty · 19/04/2013 11:25

Hello lovely LC friends. Long time no post. Have been quietly LC away and have lost 4lbs! Hurray. I feel back in the zone again now which is good as I struggled a bit over Easter.

Right off to drink some water then catch up with all the news.

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2013 12:16

I'm just worried if I try to make it without an ice cream maker it won't work... will have a go when I have room in the freezer!

MrsHerculePoirot · 19/04/2013 12:59

Katie on I can cook made ice cream with just marscapone, banana and blueberries mixed and in the freezer in a box so reckon it is somehow possible Wink

WillieWaggledagger · 19/04/2013 13:15

it wouldn't be the same as normal ice cream, but you would at least know what went into it

BIWI · 19/04/2013 16:35

Beryl - as Willie has said, if you're drinking the amount of water you should be, then the ketostix won't be showing anything anyway. This is why I believe they are a waste of money!

If you are eating as few carbs as you have in your menu today, then you will lose weight.

When you say you aren't making any progress do you just mean that you're not seeing your ketostix change colour, or are you not losing weight? If the latter, then since when?

Also, your menu is very heavy on the dairy which could be a problem for you.

Still LCing, just very busy! Im sitting at exactly 2 stone lost since Jan, hoping for a pound or 2 lost by next week, that will take me under the next stone.

NigellasGuest · 19/04/2013 19:18

I think I'm in the zone now - I restarted on Tues and have stayed on the wagon. Got that horrible feeling in my mouth so must be in ketosis!

Bessie123 · 19/04/2013 20:35

This morning I hit the 1 stone mark, yay. Unfortunately I ruined it by eating lots of chocolate puddings. Oh dear. But... (Low carb good news sandwich) I was able to do up my pre-pregnancy jeans this morning. They weren't as loose as I would have liked and they were pre second pregnancy not first but they did up easily. Smile

BerylStreep · 19/04/2013 21:14

BIWI, Willie & Mrs HP, thanks for the pep talk.

I have lost about 3-4kg and I started on 27 March, so I suppose it's still quite good. I am seeing massive fluctuations on the scales every day - by up to a kg from day to day, which is a bit disheartening (and TMI, but I always try to make sure I go to the loo first).

That's why I thought I would check to see how I was doing with the ketostix.

It pains me to admit that I think you are probably right about the diary. I luff cheese and cream. Also when I say I have drunk lots of water, that's by my standards, but probably not as much as I should.

I have started cycling recently - I do about 10 miles 2-3 times a week. I'm hoping to do a big event at the end of August, so plan to increase it gradually.

ChippingInLovesSpring · 19/04/2013 22:38

spilttheteaagain Sorry to hear you are feeling so horrible :( That is FABULOUS news about your Dad though - you and he must both be really really pleased!! I wonder how long it's going to take the NHS to accept and promote LC as a HUGELY beneficial way for diabetics to eat instead of pushing carbs - which makes no sense.

BIWI · 19/04/2013 23:44

Beryl - if you're seeing massive fluctuations on your scales on a day-to-day basis, you should ask yourself if you have a problem with your scales!

OP posts:
WillieWaggledagger · 20/04/2013 07:24

Beryl if you started at the end of march you're also possibly experiencing that tricky week 3-4 stage where weight can stall see biwi's OP here from past bootcamp

Don't lose heart though, you've done the hardest part which is breaking the carb cycle, you just have to keep the faith

AuntieMaggie · 20/04/2013 09:17

Beryl make sure you're drinking enough water for your weight and don't weigh yourself every day! My DP is doing loads of cycling as he's training for a big event and his weight fluctuates massively on a daily basis because of this. So just weigh once a week.

BlackAffronted · 20/04/2013 09:23

I see massive fluctuations on my scales, in a week I can go up by 6lb, but it always seems to be gone in the next 2 days. I take my weight on a Monday as my official weight, and only record that one.

I had 1 (admittedly rather large) tablespoon of rice with my chicken curry last night, and jeezy peeps, it gave me hall :( I sleep like a baby usually when LCing, but I was very disturbed all night, bloated, gassy & tummy pains! Very tired today because of this :(

AuntieMaggie · 20/04/2013 12:54

BlackAffronted I've had the same problem with pizza a few months ago - felt really ill after eating it so I steer clear of bread now (apart from a few slips) but not had the same problem with rice. Unfortunately I sometimes eat bread because its the only option say when I'm working away, but as a general rule I don't touch it and find it much easier to steer clear because of how it makes me feel than because I want to lose weight. I also notice how it affects my blood sugar if I have it for breakfast/lunch.

DP annoyingly has started making really lovely breakfast which uses brioche so I have to try really hard to not have it!

With curry I have an extra veg side dish now rather than rice. Though I still sometimes have lime pickle (which I know is really naughty in this woe but I love it!)

Bessie123 · 20/04/2013 22:55

I really felt like I couldn't be arsed to cook this evening so had total yoghurt with cream. I find I have been eating a lot of dairy recently (including a mr whippy earlier Blush but without the cone and flake; that's better, right?). I am going to try to be more organised and cut out some of the dairy - it's mostly laziness, it's easy to eat cheese for lunch and yoghurt for dinner then I don't have to cook.

biwi could you bring your big stick out a bit early???

Rulesgirl · 21/04/2013 00:53

Hi Ladies....could someone please tell me if this is the new bootcamp thread? Also, is there a separate bootcamp light? Started doing low carb three days ago as am fed up of not eating much but not losing weight.
Thanks.

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 21/04/2013 07:13

Bessie cut yourself a bit of slack, you've had the most horrific time recently. A good übercamp will sort you out but yes one does need to get organised.

Split that's fantastic news about your dad!

Have had a ridiculously busy week but largely kept to woe and seem to be maintaining nicely still.

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 21/04/2013 07:14

Oh and welcome rules!

It's the chat thread (new Bootcamp starts next Monday 29) but all the rules are in the spreadsheet in the OP.

Yama · 21/04/2013 07:29

Morning all. I am looking forward to the next Bootcamp. Not to lose any weight but because I like the camaradarie (probably the wrong word but you know what I mean).

Apart from alcohol and a few nuts, I pretty much bootcamp all the time.

Rulesgirl - welcome. By the way, you shouldn't be eating 'not much' on this woe. Lots of lovely fat will fill you up nicely. Smile Took me awhile to adjust my thinking but I add fat to everything I eat.

Yama · 21/04/2013 07:31

Today's food:

B - Scrambled eggs with ghee and parma ham
L - Roast chicken leg with salad
D - Beef and turnip stew with cauli rice

Won't feel like any snacks with that lot.

BIWI · 21/04/2013 08:40
