Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Okay I will keep going! I really don't want to give up/switch to low carb as I am off to America in the last week of August. It will be the first time I meet my DP extended family who live there so I really don't want to be fat!

At the moment I am 13 stone 7lbs and 5 ft 7 and size 14 although pushing it there.

My goal is 10 stone. Not sure if that's achievable in 3 months though!!

No adverse reactions I don't think. Never been allergic to anything before and I feel today the same as day one!

I actually just remembered that the day before yesterday I ate a wine gum Sad. It was a total accident though, my sister gave me one and I popped it in my mouth without thinking! Maybe that's why I feel so terrible now.

Thanks ladies!

TenbyChristmas · 28/05/2013 07:33

How do you feel this morning wowserz? Day 2 for me. Feeling ok, expected headache and fur filled mouth but so far so good. Im pretty sure my breath could strip paint though. Resisting urge to get on scales, have decided only going to weigh in once a week. Forcing myself to the gym for circuits, would much rather recline on sofa and watch This Morning but that's how I ended up in this fat mess. As gym instructor says you didn't get fat by accident, you got fat cos you ate it!!
Have a good day everyone.

Wowserz129 · 28/05/2013 07:44

Feeling a bit better thanks. Not miles better but not sicky! Thinking the wine gum has probably knocked me back to day one, this day 2. Annoyed at myself on that front as it was a total accident. If i was going to knock me out of ketosis i would have picked something better than a frigging wine gum!! How do you feel up to circuits on day 2? I am jealous, I just wanted to climb into bed on day 2!!

Wowserz129 · 28/05/2013 07:45

Also with you on the breath front, Scone does that go away? How are you fairing now Scone on the scales front?

SconeInSixtySeconds · 28/05/2013 10:15

Not official weigh day until tomorrow but as a sneaky every day weigher (Blush) I am down 3.5 pounds this week. Now teetering on 15st 1/4 pound and I started on 17th April at 16st 13.

I am 5ft7 too and starting to fit comfortably into size 16s. Yay!

Wowserz129 · 28/05/2013 11:20

Well done scone, that's great! I am aiming for 3 stone 7 in 3 months which is probably aiming a little high but hopefully somewhere in the 10s would be great!

Did you notice your losses change at all when you swapped to lifestyle?

TenbyChristmas · 28/05/2013 12:54

Well circuits nearly killed me this morning but I feel loads better for it. Was tempted for a snack when I got home. Discovered I had been mindlessly opening cupboards and the fridge for about 10 minutes. Settled for a cuppa and a teaspoon of peanut butter! No headache as yet which means it'll kick in 2moro most likely and ruin my day. Think the breath thing does go away over time. If I shifted 7lbs or more this first week I'd be delirious. I found an prediction thingy online yesterday. You input your age, start weight etc how many calories you'll be consuming on a daily basis and it gives you the predicted weightloss for each week. According to that I should hit my target mid November. Sorry I didn't save the link going to have a trawl and see if I can find it.
Trying to summon the energy now to go walk the dog, I'll have my second shake when I get back. Early doors but generally feeling much more positive this time around.

bbpants · 28/05/2013 16:06

Well done Ten by for avoiding temptation - I've MASSIVELY fallen off the wagon this afternoon - been struggling for days and couldn't fight temptation any longer. Won't make my 4 st off this Friday, that's for sure. However, it's done now. Going to draw a line and start afresh tomorrow.

How are you doing today, wowserz?

Go Scone - that's GREAT!

Wowserz129 · 28/05/2013 16:12

I am still feeling unwell but have not ate anything I am not meant too.

We are planning a meal out and a picnic this weekend. I definitely have to eat at the meal out. Any suggestions of what I can order that isn't cheating?

Tomoro is a new day Bb! Getting close to losing 4 stone is incredible! How long have you been on VLCD?

bbpants · 28/05/2013 16:37

Steak and salad is my failsafe meal out, wowserz. Or grilled fish/shellfish.

I did a 10 week stint from mid January to march - then went away on holiday over easter and VERY MUCH enjoyed putting a few pounds back on! I then restarted in mid April and am planning on finishing this block on the day the schools break up in July. I'm then going to try the fast diet over the summer holidays in an attempt to maintain my loss over the six weeks. I may then do another block of slim and save on the run up to Christmas.

I've been so pleased with my loss so far, but I really am only half way there, unfortunately.

sammac · 28/05/2013 18:11

Welcome to everyone joining in. Don't have a weight loss for this week as we were away the weekend. But have kept to it so will just have to wait till Saturday. I'm hoping to be almost at 3 stones .
Scone, we sound similar in height and weight - I'm also in my 16s and today, for the first time in work, a lot of people noticed and made positive comments - felt great. Last week in work was a cake and choc fest in the staff room - I did a lot of sniffing but no tasting.
I've not found the breath thing to go. I have umpteen wee bottles of breath freshener planked -including one in my bra. Also buy bottles of mouth wash for home and work. Am very aware of it too!!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 28/05/2013 18:44

Thanks everyone - I am quite proud of myself as it has been a long weekend of temptation.

The dc had Dominos on Saturday night, I was baking cakes all day Sunday for the Church Fete where I was running a stall, managed not to buy or eat any of the delicious cakes while we were there and went to the cinema and didn't mindlessly stuff myself with popcorn.

I just want to find myself again. I'm sure I'm in here somewhere!

Wowserz129 · 28/05/2013 20:29

I am going away to a lodge for a week at the start of July so really worried what I will do then. My DP thinks I should eat what I want just for that week and I want to so I can enjoy it. But worried I will put on a scary amount and don't want to be fat for America!

Everyone's stories of success is keeping me going at this point! Can't believe some people on this thread have lost 3/4 stone in such little time!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 29/05/2013 06:53

Official weigh day result -4lbs. So I am now 15st exactly, 27 pounds lighter than when I joined this thread. Thanks to you lot. (Warm grin and hugs all round)

Wowserz129 · 29/05/2013 07:41

Wow well done Scone that is crazy good! Keep plodding along and you will be at your goal in no time!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 29/05/2013 07:57

Thanks wowser, another 5 stone to go, but hopefully I will be there by December. All ready for a Christmas reveal!

bbpants · 29/05/2013 08:10

Well done Scone! I'm planning a bit of a Christmas party reveal myself, but being realistic, I know I struggle sticking to a strict diet in the autumn when work is crazy. So I have a target that I would like to be by the end of December, and then will aim to lose the last couple of stone in the first half of 2014.

Stood on the scales after my disastrous day - oops! Only have 2 days to undo the damage but am feeling stronger today.

Wowserz129 · 29/05/2013 08:54

Scone if you have lost over two stone this quick, there's a good chance you will be at your goal before December!

I am worried this lodge holiday in July will interfere with me getting to my goal by end of August. Also have DP birthday, Father's Day and mums birthday to get through. Blush

TenbyChristmas · 29/05/2013 09:20

Had a sneaky step on the scales this morning at start of day three, four pounds down! AND I had a sneaky glass of wine watching Britains got Talent last night! Could.not.resist. But I had burned a load of calories at circuits so it hasn't done me much damage. Still no headache which I cannot get over, previously by this stage the headache was crippling. Breath....worse than the dogs! Bbpants -am I reading right that you lost 4 stone in ten weeks? That's just fabulous, very well done! Think we're all doing well :) I'm going to body pump tonight and hoping to maybe squeeze in a small run on treadmill.
Come Christmas we will be goddesses Grin
Have a great day everyone x

SconeInSixtySeconds · 29/05/2013 09:36

Is the lodge holiday self catering? It doesn't sound like you are going with DP is that right?

If you are going with your not very supportive family why not just low-carb that week. you can have really lovely lovely food, really indulgent stuff and still be in ketosis (although with higher calories obv. but not a significant hiccup to weight loss).

I think that you need to make a plan - all those events are possible if you plan ahead, but if you try and busk it - that's when problems start.

So, is it cake for DP's birthday that is the problem? Cos there are low carb cakes (and they are yummy), is it alcohol? Because Gin and slimline tonic is ok (IF YOU ARE LOW CARBING NOT VLCDING AT THE TIME). These are not insurmountable events - you can do it!

Wowserz129 · 29/05/2013 09:49

I am thinking about doing a picnic and a hike for his birthday (his choice). Don't want to sit down and eat a bar on his birthday as know he won't be impressed. I was thinking about wrapping chicken and jalapeños in iceburg lettuce like a wrap. However I don't have any scales to weigh it out between now and then.

Lodge is self catering but lots of planned meals out and a trip to a Chinese we go to every year and order fried rice and chilli chicken.

bbpants · 29/05/2013 10:35

Tenby - no, in the first block of 10 weeks I lost nearly 3 stone. I then lost the lbs I put on over easter and another stone since I restarted mid april. I struggle on this diet when I'm at home during school holidays (as this week has proved) so I now plan to do it in blocks of school terms. The idea is that I learn to maintain during the holidays as I go back to old habits very quickly. I realise that it will take me longer to get to goal but it's the way that works best for me.

Wowserz -could you do just low-carbing whilst you're at the lodge rather than the vlcd? Then life could carry on more normally and it would be easier to return to the shakes when you get home?

bbpants · 29/05/2013 10:37

Oops sorry - I'm just repeating what others have said!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 29/05/2013 10:48

As long as you don't use mayo I wouldn't worry too much about weighing it out i am a heretic just eat it and enjoy it.

Chinese is harder to Locarb than Indian. I will have a think :)
