If I told DH he'd be like fair enough if that's what you want to do, but its just easier not to. I can easily have smaller proportions and Im not bothered about snacks etc. He just doesn't understand why I should want to lose weight especially since Im apparently average size (I may be AFAIK, but I have no idea what the average size is). I think he realises that the media encourage us to be size 0 and that those models and celebs you see on the covers of magazines are airbrushed and give an unreal representation so he takes it too far the other way by saying size 16 and a BMI of 27 is fine and not to worry about being slimmer.

Good idea about the weekly calorie goal randall somedays its just soooo much easier to hardly eat anything at all.

kalidanger · 20/03/2013 11:02

I think size 16 is average Grin But that's beside the point Grin

LillethTheCat · 20/03/2013 11:02

I dont cook, DH does all that so weighing things (not that we've even got scales) is all that easy TBH. I can see how many calories are in some things and divide the whole portion by 3 (taking into accounts DC's get 3rd between them, DH a third and me a third) and possibly not eat it all if I get full (I do tend to keep eating once Im full so need to get out of that one today)

I put myself down as very unactive as Im not active usually. I thought Id do that then add on exercise whether thats running 10K, 20 mins on the bike or pottering round the supermarket. Have I done that wrong then?

RandallPinkFloyd · 20/03/2013 11:08

No that sounds fine, you can just add the exercise as you do it that way. I know there's a few on there that do a big exercise in the morning if they know they'll be having a higher cal day. Sort of cancel it out iyswim.

(I prefer to just starve the next day - unless someone with a knife is chasing me I won't be running anywhere)

Tbh once you start reading everyone's diaries you'll see how differently everyone is doing it. It's a great way to pick up ideas. You just have to find which way works for you.

kalidanger · 20/03/2013 11:09

No, not done it wrong! Sorry, I'm not an MFP expert, just trying (& failing) to be helpful Smile

BambieO · 20/03/2013 11:10

Back on the wagon! Thanks all you lovelies Flowers

LillethTheCat · 20/03/2013 11:28

Well Ive sent requests to a couple of you just now. My NN is the same over there as it is here to save confusion. If anyone else wants to add me as a friend, please do so.

DoubleMum · 20/03/2013 11:58

Welcome Lilleth. You might want to have a look at the 'in place of a roadmap' thread on MFP which might give you a more palatable calorie total than stingy old MFP does.
Bambie the wagon slows down to catch people up quite regularly.
Please banish thoughts of mansions - the wardrobes are to go in the children's tiny rooms as kind of fitted wardrobes to maximise the wall space, because they desperately need more storage space for their stuff. At the moment they are laying out taking up most of the living room floor.
I don't think I'll be in a hurry to lick a cake mix spoon again - but then it's a bad idea generally to be making cakes that you can't eat. Best to make and freeze them as quick as poss, then the DCs and DH can have them in their packed lunches and I'm not tempted. I have already succumbed to birthday cake that is sitting on the worktop this morning.

Has anyone ever had colonic irrigation?
Friend at work is trying to get to go.

Bit queasy at the idea, but would like the results.

DoubleMum · 20/03/2013 12:22

Ooh no, don't think I'd like it Lizzy.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 20/03/2013 12:54

Ooh, I love the idea of colonic (realise this may make me weird).

I'm not a bum person per-say, nothing has ever been up there ever (except for 3 doctors and 2 midwives but that doesn't count as it was all in the delivery room and what goes on in there stays in there) but I reckon it would feel great afterwards.

Probably mings pretty hard during but worth it I'll bet.

LillethTheCat · 20/03/2013 12:56

I fancy that, uncomfortable, but would love the results. Aren't you supposed to lose half a stone when you do it? Although I would imagine it would go back on easily enough.

Im allowed another 381 calories today (if I stick to 1200), but Im over on my sugar. Ive only got my dinner to have, but with 20 mins on the exercise bike that should add another 197 calories on. Ive worked out dinner will be 700 calories so thats only 1322 calories today, and that's not taking into account the walking I will do at some point today (school runs and popping into town)

That in place of a road map looks really complicated. Then again I didn't really read it properly, but there seems to be a lot to look at. I think I'll stick to just losing weight and trying to get down dress sizes.

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:00

I had one before my wedding, it was fabulous! My eyes were as white as this page! It was incredible, I felt so much lighter, more energetic and my skin was clear and my eyes sparkled :) go for it! Just use a reputable company.

I plan to have another one when I am back at work and have the money.

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:02

Ps it doesn't hurt at all, it is the dear that makes you panic but when you realise it doesn't hurt it's ok.

The weirdest part is when it starts flushing and you panic thinking I'm going to poo and then you realise that's essentially what you need to do Blush

I kept saying to the lady 'I'm so sorry I'm going to go!' She was laughing saying that's exactly what you are paying me for

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:02

*fear

Lizzylou · 20/03/2013 13:05

[Grin]

Think you may have sold me on the idea Bambie.

Lilibeth, I am on 1390 cals per day. You can just set MFP to a slightly higher cal target, you will get your head round it soon.

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:06

Definitely go lizzy! It's worth it just to feel 'cleansed' and not bloated if nothing else

Lizzylou · 20/03/2013 13:11

Lilleth, I apologise for calling you Lilibeth! Blush

RandallPinkFloyd · 20/03/2013 13:27

How much does it cost Bambie?

Lilleth that sounds fine to me. I'm not an expert by any means but I reckon as long as you're there or thereabouts you'll be fine. It's not an exact science after all.

Forgt to say I'm down another 2.8lb this week. God knows he that appended but I'm not complaining! 1 stone 2lb to healthy, thank you chiefs, couldn't do it without you Thanks

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:47

I recall paying about £50 for mine, I guess it would depend the area, I am in the south east.

Well done Randall! That's brilliant :)

RandallPinkFloyd · 20/03/2013 13:57

That's not as bad as I thought actually. May start saving.

I've forgotten how to count again. It's 14.2lbs to get to healthy not 14 stone 2. That 2lb difference is very important!

Tabbykat · 20/03/2013 13:58

GO Randall!

Just got back form lugging my arse around the park on this c25k thing. Legs really burning today but had to do it as have had biscuits (I know, I know) but will log it, promise! Will have soup for lunch and am having thai beef salad for tea so that is v healthy and I will feel very good (polishes halo) - ha!

Would love colonic I think, as my eyeballs are quite bloodshot as I type and read so much for work. But can't really justify spending £50 on a big poo - literally throwing money down the drain......

BambieO · 20/03/2013 14:01

Hahaha tabby Grin

Great news on the run and your dinner sounds scrumptious Envy

DoubleMum · 20/03/2013 14:13

I stand corrected then, seems I'm in the minority not fancying it
Just found out my work is changing big time and feeling rather stressed about it. Must not eat!

OP posts:
DoubleMum · 20/03/2013 14:14

PS. Randall I don't think you need to poo anymore!
