Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

That does indeed look dinner party pretty BlackAffronted :)

I had Total yog, a tablespoon of Waitrose frozen berries (defrosted overnight) and half the tiffinlike for breakfast today. It was yummy.

Have STS this week which is a) expected and b) better than I deserve as I drank quite a lot of red wine the other night. I have been good on the carb food front though - even made biscuits the other day and didn't grapple with DS to lick the spoon!

Yama · 05/02/2013 18:39

Looks like I have a couple of hundred posts to catch up with.

Hope everyone is well.

I have been noticing the indent at my waist - you know when you put your hands on your hips? I like it. Smile

I have a weekend away with the girls and while I am looking forward to it I'm a bit of a wuss, don't like a fuss and as such have made no requests for the internet shop. We are staying in a holiday house. I'm just hoping that there will be tonnes of food (usually is) and that I'll just eat the meat.

PennyHofstadter · 05/02/2013 18:40

Following on from my earlier post i experimented and I've just had two squares of 85% dark chocolate and my stomach is fine. Possibly the nuts that caused the issue then.

Carrotcakeisace · 05/02/2013 18:45

3 lbs down for me this week and I've just had my first session with my new personal trainer. I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to stand up again tonight but he's all about weight training so hopefully all the flab and excess skin will shrink away.

Week 2 off the LC period here, really hope it doesn't last much longer

JustasmallGless · 05/02/2013 18:49

Skandi- are you my twin?!! I have had all those plus a few more.

Not got time to post now but I promise that the long term health benefits will help.

Keep the faith!!

And we are all here to keep you on the straight and narrow - big hugs

JustasmallGless · 05/02/2013 18:50

Black affronted - just a quick post to you too to keep on keeping on.

And keep the faith

Cold - if there is pizza and pasta can there not be also salad Nicoise? That's what I have at pizza express (minus potatoes, dough sticks and dressing - so don,t go very often...)

Greek yog for brekkie (as ever...toyed with the idea of adding double cream and decided against it)
Salad from protein counter at work (which by the way they now WEIGH so my bargain massive lunch of old at £3.20 now comes in at £3.70 Hmm) grated cheese, 2 hard boiled eggs, salad leaves, cucumber, coleslaw, olives
Tea is going to be a tescos ready meal (the shame) of chicken wrapped in cheese and pancetta with some sort of veg. Leaving it up to dh.

Masses of water, masses of decaf black coffee and a ginormous glass of white wine. This is what a 9-6 day in the office does to me, not used to it!!!

littlermissstan · 05/02/2013 19:25

Bolognese sauce is smelling good on the hob, pasta for DP and buttery courgetti for me. If it's Pizza Express, could you have their aubergine parmigiana? It's gorgeous!

Doshusallie · 05/02/2013 19:27

20 g of carbs in that though little miss

skandi1 · 05/02/2013 19:33

Haha Gless. I always suspected I had a secret twin and now I have found you!! Grin

DC in bed tidied up after their dinner (DS is into food throwing just now Hmm).

. And now for the mammoth task of taking everything out of the playroom as decorators announced this afternoon that they want to start in there tomorrow. Argh. It's a big room and its stacked with toys.

I am worried I will end up like one of those hoarders buried under their stuff! Grin If you don't hear from me later you can safely assume I am squashed under a ton of plastic tat. Joy.

Not sorted dinner yet as I have no idea when dH will be appearing. Most likely around the time I finish sorting the playroom. Grrr.

WillieWaggledagger · 05/02/2013 19:34

Do they add breadcrumbs to the parmigiana? I'm always a bit wary of that as it's a common ingredient

coldethyl can you not ring the restaurant in advance and explain that you can't eat that menu, and ask for a salad instead?

thenightsky · 05/02/2013 19:55

coldethyl can you claim wheat intolerance or something and ask for pasta sauce (carbonara or such) with a salad instead of pasta? I should think you'd have a better chance of getting that at an indie place than you would at a chain Italian place.

I did similar at an Indian place... Salmon Masala on a bed of pilau rice became Salmon Masala on a bed of shredded lettuce and cucumber.

ShebaQueen · 05/02/2013 20:09

Hello all, just sloshing in from work, I have drunk more water than ever today.

Breakfast was two poached eggs with buttery spinach
Lunch chicken salad with mayonnaise
Dinner 2 homemade burgers with a bit of cheese melted on top and a huge salad with an oil and mustard dressing I concocted myself.

Thanks for the motivation. I struggle to keep up with the thread but I really enjoy reading your posts.

NellVarnish · 05/02/2013 20:20

STS. Have updated The Spreadsheet of Doom.

:(

littlermissstan · 05/02/2013 20:21

Hmm, that is a lot! Though if you just have very little carbs for the rest of the day you'd probably come in about 30g which is ok right?

I think I'd claim gluten intolerance too and see what they say - if one of the pasta options is bolognese you could have that with green salad which surely wouldn't be more pricey than with pasta?

helpingout · 05/02/2013 20:26

Evening everyone!

B - cheese omelette
L- chicken curry (made with coconut)
D- turnip, boiled leeks and gammon of a joint cooked in cream (like a gratin) with cheese on top.

Almost finished a 2 litre bottle of sparkling water alongside a litre of still today.

fatzak · 05/02/2013 20:35

Evening! Have been lurking for a long time and thought I would finally say hello.

I have absolutely no excuse for not being able to low carb, as DS has been on the ketogenic diet for epilepsy for three years, so every day is a low carb day for him. I'm not sure how much I've lost in the last three weeks as only bought some scales two weeks ago and don't know how much I had put on over Christmas from my usual too much weight Blush I I've lost about 7lb.

I'll post it on the recipe thread, but I went on a ketogenic cooking day last week and nearly jumped up and down when we got this recipe. It's made to a ketogenic diet prescription, so mess around with it till it works for you

Flax Bread
80g flax seeds
2 eggs
25g butter
salt to taste
2g baking powder (gluten free)
Mix all together. Put in plastic sandwich container. Microwave for 3 mins. And that's it Grin Slice it up and have with butter! It toasts well (it's actually better toasted I think) and you can make a sweet version with berries, sweetner, cinnamon etc which is almost cake-like!

queribus · 05/02/2013 20:45

Cock! I've messed up.

I fell off the wagon over the weekend and haven't managed to climb back on yet. I suspect that I've sabotaged all efforts and have to start again.

Why do I do this to myself!?

Yama · 05/02/2013 21:00

Fatzak - ground flaxseeds or whole.

WillieWaggledagger · 05/02/2013 21:02

oh dear queribus, but never mind, it's happened now and you can't change the past

start tomorrow with a really decent low carb breakfast - eggs, bacon, mushrooms cooked in butter, whatever you have in

plan yourself some indulgent low carb meals that you can really look forward to - pork belly, creamed cabbage, whatever it is that you particularly like, remind yourself why you enjoy this WOE

go back to strict bootcamp, three meals a day, try not to snack but if you're really craving make sure you have low carb snacks handy

plenty of water

you know the drill, you can do it!

fatzak · 05/02/2013 21:03

Ground! Although the chef who ran the course was saying thatas it works out quite expensive, if you've got a coffee grinder, buy the whole ones and grind them yourself!
