Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

Thank you Biwi, I will write this down to keep! The only thing is I have to go out at 3, back around 3.40 for the school pick up. Can I turn it off and then switch it back on when I get in or will I make us all really bloody ill?

Or could I start cooking it sooner, and have it ready and switched off by 3?

Sorry for dense questions Smile

prettybird · 06/02/2013 11:28

At the same time as starting Boot Camp, I also started setting myself monthly objectives.

The last time I did this was in September, when I promptly ignored them - but I was also probably only about 12 and half stone at the time.

Although I revised most of the other objectives, I left in one even though it was unrealistic given I was 13 stone 2lb at the time which was to be 11 stone 13lb or better.

Well, I am happy to announce that I achieved all of this month's objectives! :):)

OK, I only managed to get the scales to show 11 stone 13lb after my exercises and before my shower, and after the shower resolutely insisted I was 12 stone 0lb (they are dodgy scales and you need to move them about the bathroom floor to try to get a consistent weight) - but at least I have seen 11 stone 13lb before the month was out! :)

PennyHofstadter · 06/02/2013 11:34

Excellent prettybird. You're starting weight is a pound less than mine. I wish I had gotten down to 11st 13 since Bootcamp. I've lost 8lb so far which I'm pleased with but well done you!

I've got a test of willpower today, someone in my office has organised a charity cake/samosa sale. All my colleagues have tucked into homemade victoria sponges and vegetable samosas while I've been swigging my water and having a couple of pork scratchings!

PennyHofstadter · 06/02/2013 11:34

I mean your obviously.

PostBellumBugsy · 06/02/2013 12:08

GuyMSB - can't you just leave the oven on low for 40 mins, while you are out?

Well done those losing too & Penny - stay strong at the cake sale. Keep thinking of that great loss & how those cakes will just taste really sweet & sickly and not nearly as yummy as pork scratchings! Wink

DorisIsWaiting · 06/02/2013 12:23

Yay! Weigh day for me and another 2lb off that now a a full 14lbs! in total. I was beginning to get a bit bored this week as I seemed to have stoped experimenting with new stuff (everything I wanted to try I didn't have the ingredients for) So been to sainbury's this mornig and got flax seed and almonds and splenda type stuff so I can try and be a bit more inventive. I really fancy a lo carb pizza but I'm out tonight so that will have to wait. Well done to all those who have lost and those who have sts.

I have a wedding away this weekend and so I will be falling off the wagon for 24 hrs this weekend (very little I can do as dh and the dd's already have v awkard diets and traveling with them is a nightmare) but I will get right back on and boot camp the rest of the week (althugh I don't think I've moved on from boot camp much).

bulletwithbutterflywings · 06/02/2013 12:29

I've fucked up Sad just eaten 3 amaretti biscuits and some chocolate. Couldn't hold out any longer... Wahhhhh! I had the biggest craving for sweetness Sad
Better drink gallons of water and be super strict now I guess. Boo.

thekitchenfairy · 06/02/2013 13:06

Thank you BIWI

Some great inspiring posts, seems I am not alone in my struggles which is day comforting.

You are right, I had forgotten all your wise words ...

I didn't expect great big whooshes, but I think my current weigh in is a hurdle, I've not seen below it for years. Even tho my BMI is still too high I was starting to think this was the weight for me..

But I have stepped away from the carbs and am certain this is forever and 5 off is a steady move in the right direction! Having awful few weeks, DS1 is poorly, lots of hospital visits, off school now for weeks and he is 10 tomorrow! I have, I confess, had a small glass of wine in the evenings, but I am saying to myself that chocolate cake, toast, won't help. That is a lifetime first and i cannot thank you and the support of this thread enough.

Thank you for getting me back on track Grin

PostBellumBugsy · 06/02/2013 13:51

bullet - onwards, onwards. We all slip up.

Think it is important to try and think why you had the sweet craving. I'm willing to bet that you didn't have this craving as you did 20 laps of the pool, or were on the phone having a really interesting chat to a friend, or were out for a walk, or in a really good meeting? I bet the craving came about because you knew the food was there, you weren't fully engaged in something else or you were feeling stressed or unhappy. Worth having a think about it, as it could help you head off the next craving.

My worst one is boredom - that drift to the cupboard when I'm not really focussed on anything else. All of sudden, I find I really want something to eat & not lettuce either!!!!! I want chocolate, or cake or biscuits. Except I don't want them, I'm not hungry and I don't need to eat - it is just a momentary thing and if I force myself to move away from the food & get stuck into something else I forget very quickly.

bulletwithbutterflywings · 06/02/2013 14:10

It was definitely boredom, and tbh I just wanted it. I like cake/ biscuits/ chocolate and no amount of pork scratchings or weight loss is going to change that! I just need to keep my will power up and keep busy.
I can't believe people are saying how disgusting they are finding sweet things! I really enjoyed the biscuits and chocolate. I do find things taste sweeter but that isn't always a bad thing - the dry wine I ordered in a restaurant tasted so sweet I had to get sil to taste it! She said it was bone dry Grin

BIWI · 06/02/2013 14:18

Guy - just turn the oven down and leave it on.

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 06/02/2013 14:18

I even find water sweet now! And swede - I had it mashed with butter & cheese, salt & pepper and it still tasted like something I'd have for pudding! If nothing else, I think this WOE will help me to stop craving those stupidly sweet things like creme eggs etc and the chocolate I do want to eat will be high quality, bitter and actually taste of chocolate!

HavingAnOffDAy · 06/02/2013 14:30

I just wanted to echo what a lot of posters have been saying over the last few days - Thanks for all the support on here Smile

I don't post often but try & read the threads everyday.

I've not lost a lot up to now and now my scales have broken I've no idea what I currently weigh compared to my starting weight, but I am feeling LOADS better than I have done in ages Grin

I am starting to make the right choices, by choice, and that in itself is a revelation for me.

I've cut way back on wine, biscuits (my downfall) and am loving the food I do eat.

I've got a night out planned on Saturday and actually feel a bit gutted as I really notice the difference in my skin the morning after even a single glass of wine now. I'm going to make sure I drink plenty of water during the meal (normally I'd make sure I drank plenty of wine Grin) and try for damage limitation.

I've got a pair of jeans on today that I couldn't have got near me at Christmas and that has to be worth it!

Thanks everyone

sybilfaulty · 06/02/2013 14:49

Am at home today with a sick child (although she's now watching wall to wall Tracey Beaker and eating toast, so not that ill....). Found it hard to avoid temptation so just had some ham and cheese. I haven't lost that much weight since I started (in June) but my shape has changed enormously. Am glad to be sticking with it.

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 16:41

With a lot of blood, sweat & tears (sadly, not even joking!) I managed to go to the loo today. TMI but it looked & felt the size of a tennis ball :( Taking time to recover now . Blush

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 16:53

Oh wow to whoever posted the recipe a few pages back for microwave flax bread - amazing! I am sat here eating toast & butter Grin tastes just like very wholemeal bread.

PostBellumBugsy · 06/02/2013 16:59

Lordy Black - sorry to hear about your giant poo - my eyes were watering on your behalf.

With any luck that flax bread will keep the new balls moving through, so you you don't get caught in the net with a double fault like that again (sorry, got caught up in the tennis theme)! Wink

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 17:00
Grin
BIWI · 06/02/2013 17:07

Ouch, ow and ooooh!

Hopefully now the floodgates are open, so to speak, all will be well Grin

Dare I ask if the scales have reflected this monstrous achievement?

OP posts:
BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 17:13

I wish Id thought to weigh before & after! Will weigh tomorrow am and see if I am lighter than Mondays weigh in.

ToomuchWaternotWine · 06/02/2013 17:13

Poor black that sounds hideous!

Look away biwi while I tell her this when I was constipated at the start, my Dukan friend recommended oatbran. Not oatmeal etc, proper oatbran. Couple of tablespoons, cover with water, nuke in the micro for 30secs to a min, make palatable by adding whatever you have (I do double cream and some cinnamon) have that for a few days, sorted me out (along with a vicious black coffee and a vitamin c tablet)

Hopefully it won't be as bad ever again!!

catinboots · 06/02/2013 17:33

Ooh what's the recipe for flax bread??

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 17:36

Its about 2 or 3 pages back.
