Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

I'm with you bullet - I still like sweet things! My comfort is that I don't seem to want them in the vast quantities I did before - so I had a small piece of birthday cake at my friend's 30th at the weekend, but that was enough and I didn't go back to the buffet which I was proud of! Also, today I have turned down a free Krispy Kreme and the fancy meeting biscuits as I wasn't hungry - mega result!

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 17:53

Have just been reading that even when you dont lose pounds on this woe, you are probably still losing fat but the fat cells immeadiately fill with water. When that water is suddenly let go, you get a visit from the whoosh fairy. Didnt know that, hopefully thats what is happening here.

PennyHofstadter · 06/02/2013 17:53

That is a result. I too managed to avoid all of the cakes and samosas on sale in the office today. I feel mighty pleased with myself! Pork belly with roasted broccoli and red cabbage for dinner.

PennyHofstadter · 06/02/2013 17:55

I like that black. That's another thing to remember if the scales aren't going the way I want them to!

Ruprekt · 06/02/2013 18:01

It is odd, the way we lose weight on this plan.

I have honestly not cheated since day 1. Not boasting. Just explaining.

Last week I went from 185lb to 179lb overnight. I knew that I would then put on again within that week but BIWI said to put 179lb on the spreadsheet which I did.

Again no cheating but my weight shot up to 184lb again. I have waited again and today I am 180 lb. Am hoping to get down again by spreadsheet time on Friday.

B - sausage and bacon
L - smoked trout, sprouts and broccoli
D - Portobello mushroom topped with chilli burger, blue cheese served with coleslaw and salad.
S - yog with double cream and blueberries

Rollergirl1 · 06/02/2013 18:06

Hi everyone, sorry I know this has been done to death and is probably on the recipe thread but I don't have time to check through. When people make celeriac chips do you parboil them before putting in the oven?

Rollergirl1 · 06/02/2013 18:11

And then also how long do they tend to take in the oven?

Jacaqueen · 06/02/2013 18:12

First time I did parboil and they were too mushy so now I just bung them in raw.

Jacaqueen · 06/02/2013 18:13

About 30-40 mins depending on thickness

Rollergirl1 · 06/02/2013 18:15

Many thanks for a speedy response Jacaqueen, you're a star! Smile

Valdeeves · 06/02/2013 18:22

Rollergirl - I don't - I just coat them in oil and roll them in curry powder as suggested. They don't take long and are lovely!
What a stressful day house hunting - with a small baby in tow.
No time for lunch again - hoping also to roast some pork belly strips for tea after I've got kids to bed!

Loving soya and almond milk at the mo in tea - they are becoming my treat. It's soooo cold it's making the water drinking harder.

Blackaffronted - you make me laugh!!! Bet you feel so much better!

Iamaslummymummy · 06/02/2013 18:30

Evening all,

I'm not getting any more energy as I'd hoped from this diet. Have got cfs/me and I'm getting worse Sad not anything to do with the diet of course but I'm sure the 10+ cups of tea a day used to keep me awake. Also now have our new dog to walk which is exhausting me too. Although it is good for me of course.

B cheese, frankfurter and salami (waiting for sainsburys)
L 2 hard boiled eggs and buttered spinach
D chicken and shish kebab with salad and no Pita
S pork scratchings and coffee with cream

BIWI · 06/02/2013 19:12

Oh, Sad Iamaslummymummy - that must make life really hard for you.

Fat is your friend. Can you introduce some nuts/seeds to snack on? They should help you with your energy requirements.

Ruprekt - it is truly bizarre! I know that when I see a big drop in weight, I can expect to see a bounce back over the next couple of days. I have no idea why that happens. But something I was once told on a low carb forum I also use is that there is no such thing as a false low reading. So I always accept that low reading and keep it in my head as my 'real' weight. Hang on to that, and just think it's your body fooling with you until it settles down to the lower weight! Much easier psychologically.

I will biwi. I was staying away from them in the typical fat is bad thought process. Thanks. Having plenty of cream in coffees. Are cashews OK? They are my favourite

BlackAffronted · 06/02/2013 19:52

Just back from Zumba and really tired out! How am I going to cope wit the 8 hour Zumbathon on Saturday? Shock eeeeek! Any tips on what I should take to eat? It has to be eaten on the hoof, and will be sitting in a sweaty gym hall most of the day! I doubt I will be very hungry until I stop - does anyone have any experience?

BIWI · 06/02/2013 20:00

Eek! No - no experience at all, you completely mad thing!

I would, in this instance, be looking at energy drinks. Get yourself some sugar-free Red Bull.

Plenty of water as well.

Oh I can't bloody well keep up with you all!

Us woolly huggers have six threads on the go at the mo.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/02/2013 20:21

How many have you got BIWI?

Doshusallie · 06/02/2013 20:25

Black affronted I had a similarly eye watering toilet experience as you this morning. HTH. Grin

BIWI · 06/02/2013 20:26

Sounds like most of us are having pork belly today!

B - wasn't hungry
L - leftover turnip dauphinoise
D - pork belly covered with a sprinkling of crushed chillies and a touch of soy sauce. Served it with wilted spinach cooked in a splash of rice wine vinegar and soy sauce.

Managed to keep away from the doughnuts at work today. I'm full all the time now.

timidviper · 06/02/2013 20:40

I have just had my first experience of swede dauphinoise... Heaven! Had that with chicken and green beans.

I was very good today. SIL visited and, being kind, had picked up a lovely lunch as she had arrived before I got home from work. I explained my way of eating to her and how I was trying to resist cakes, etc even though I insist this is not a diet. She was lovely about it (as she always is) and we both had some curried cauliflower soup, her with her sandwich and me with my avocado and prawns.

JustasmallGless · 06/02/2013 22:34

Evening all
I went out for dinner last night and had a nearly perfect low carb meal - it was yum

Twice baked cheese souffle to start with baby herb salad
Roast duck breast with pancetta and port just on a bed of savoy cabbage and chanteney carrots

Twas yummy.

I had book club friends round tonight. Now for those uninitiated in the tales of woe in my life (of which there are many and I have tried not to bore you all on new bootcamp threads) we meet every two months and although they ask me what I can eat I invariably get served with pasta and some chocolate cake.
I was serving dinner tonight so they got:-

Cream of celeriac, courgette and leek soup (bread for them and some minging low fat double cream - proper cream for me obvs!)
Beef casserole with roast cauliflower in cumin and broccoli (plus jacket potatoes for them)
Meringue nests with creme fraiche and berries (I didn't have the meringue)

3 of them are on SW and were moaning about what they could and couldn't eat. I did try and convert them as always but was unsuccessful. I could cry as one of them in particular is a real foodie and I know she would love this woe!

Anyway well done losers. Good work all.
Onwards and downwards or STS like me

NoelHeadbands · 06/02/2013 22:57

Gless both meals sound amay-zing.

I feel sorry for people following low fat/low cal diets. Ok, I know that sounds incredibly patronising.

It's just that I personally don't enjoy that way of eating. I dont enjoy low fat spread and steamed veg, and as soon as I started to count calories I felt the will to live ebbing away from my hefty body

SavoirFaire · 06/02/2013 23:01

Off the wagon kind of day. Sorry, not going to record. This week was always going to be difficult as we are on holiday from work and we were out for lunch (old eaterie we used to go to years ago) and this evening (friends haven't seen for ages). Chips and wine both involved. No puddings though, which is a success of sorts. Much better than it might have been but nothing to write home about.
