Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Sylvia I bet you'll find you eat a bit better if we can see your diary so make sure you set it as open (as long as you want us nosing at what you eat!).

I was mooching around in the MFP forum and saw a guy posting who had lost 311 lbs! Incredible dedication.

MrGeresHamster · 23/02/2013 16:01

Yeay, thank you Doublemum and RandallFloyd for adding me.

Currently addicted to sugar free jelly. I have a selection in the fridge in case one takes my fancy! Mikado sticks and curly wurlies though, I may have to try! Mmmmm...

In an ideal world I would lose at least five more stones... eek. Small goals are a good plan. My first goal was to lose a stone (baby weight), which I've done. My next goal would be down to 14 stone (another two stones) so that I can feel less whale like.

My inspiration is my 6mo ds who requires a mum who'll run around and play with him rather than one more likely to sit and eat cake.

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/02/2013 16:10

I have the daim mikado sticks, bloody delicious they are too! Fab for just that tiny chocolate/sweet hit.

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 16:26

I don't think I could stick to just 1 Mikado. Plus my kids would eat them all. Mind you having said that they have this afternoon cleated me out of carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes and now miso soup. I didn't even get any of the latter!

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 16:27

cleated me?! cleared me out.

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/02/2013 16:33

Mmm, miso soup.

Tbh I've really surprised myself with the mikados. Just one or two really help if I'm craving something sweet but don't have many calories left.

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 16:37

My main memory of mikados is binge eating packets of them while living on my own in Japan so perhaps that doesn't help. I need to source some miso, too expensive buying the sachets when all 4 of us like it.

MrGeresHamster · 23/02/2013 17:15

Love that your kids are snacking on carrot sticks, cherry toms and miso soup though. It's my childhood obsession with snacking on bad things that got me here today. Good on em!

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 18:29

Well it's unusual that they're being quite so healthy!

WiseKneeHair · 23/02/2013 18:33

Ooo, new blood. Grin
Welcome. I'm HappyKite on MFP, feel free to add me.
It sounds as if you are all doing well anyway, but the guys on here are great support.
I've been debating about whether to ip my calories or not, finally decided to do it yesterday and now find I've got 500 calories left Shock we went to a Christening this afternoon where my boys, big and small, pigged out on the buffet. I had some raw veg and the snacks I brought with me. So, I'm ready for the Hairy bikers chicken karma I was planning to make and noone else wants to eat. I can't be bothered to make it just for me and, tbh, don't feel particularly hungry at the moment. I'll try and have something healthy later. at least I've got calories left for wine
Hope that ramble makes sense, but I'm on my phone and its difficult to review before posting.

WiseKneeHair · 23/02/2013 18:34

Love the idea of the chicken karma - you obviously get the curry you deserve. Grin

kalidanger · 23/02/2013 18:37

I'm in! Got a bit obsessed with the adding and the scan feature is fun. This is Day 6 and the only day I've stayed green is yesterday as I had a bottle of wine instead of dinner Hmm

I've only read the last two pages so apologies if I'm repeating stuff but this past week has been invaluable in terms of seeing quite clearly why I'm fat :o I like a toasted bagel with a thin scraping of peanut butter for breakfast. Stupid fucking bagels are 216 cals Sad The scraping is only 30ish. Who knew? Not me, cuz I'm an idiot.

I weighed myself maybe three months ago (need to buy scales obvs) and know I've lost a bit through non-purposeful-dieting (break up! yay!) so the weight number is way off. But I do think I need to sort out an ordinary calorie intake first, before I start obsessing about the weigh-ins.

Does that sound sensible?

My MFP username is the same as this one. I'd be fascinated to make a friend or two and nose at what you're all up to.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 23/02/2013 18:53

kalidanger I only recently got some decent scales and have become obsessed, weighing every morning. That is stopping now, I will weigh in twice a week, one midweek to see how it's going and one proper recorded weigh in.

I try to avoid bread as much as possible but love bagels, croissants, toast. Will be making batches of soup so I have something easy and quick to get to.

Dh is away until Monday night so need all the willpower I have not to binge. If no one is around I tend to look for anything to eat. It's a v bad habit. May need someone to shout "Step away from the snacks!"

BsshBossh · 23/02/2013 18:56

Hello to all the new Chiefs :) Are we on Chat then? Please link.

I'm Bssh on MFP so feel free to add. I'm a relative newbie compared to the rest of the Chiefs here and currently don't keep my food log on MFP updated except for exercise but I love nosying around diaries for food ideas Grin.

Today we went to a very nice fish and chips restaurant for lunch where I ate scampi with chips and mushy peas followed by half and half of treacle and chocolate sponge puddings with ice cream. I defintely overate and am still feeling full at 7pm. But what I love about MFP and being on this thread is how I know now that I can adjust calories for the rest of the day/week. In the past I would simply see over-eating at lunch as an excuse to carry on pigging out but now I know my weekly calorific goal (not that I log anymore but I have an instinctive idea now) I simply won't have dinner tonight. I may even skip breakfast tomorrow too (which I should do as we're eating out again tomorrow at lunch).

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 19:41

Kalidanger I'm rather partial to a bagel too, and the fresh Sainsburys ones are almost 300 cals. It's doable though if that's what you want to spend your calories on.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 23/02/2013 19:53

Happy Saturday evening Chiefs.

I have been a very naughty Chief ... and not just because 3YO son told me I was a naughty girl for making smoke (with the hot food) and telling him off for touching things (a mirror) but because I am drinking real ale and have had an egg custard tart [sobs]. Today has been slightly trying as DH has baaargered arf to watch England vs France at Twickers and I have been left. Outnumbered. When it's so cold I can't just tip them all out for a game of football [sobs some more]. I have had to shout because I'm not being listened to and repeated myself sooooo many times I'm sick of myself [wipes nose on jumper] [tear drops into pint of beer].

Anyway feck it. Today's a bad day. Hopefully I will run tomorrow. And I might just use Forrest Gump as my inspiration and run off to the North East and back for some peace!

Welcome new Chiefs. I'm WillStillNeedTeaAndGin and think I've caught a couple of new joiners.

I did my first set of weight loss whilst BFing - all nice and steady - until I got to stopping BFing when I plummeted from a GG to a C cup and lost half a stone in a week. Both my norks and I were in shock for about a year after!

Mmmmmmmm bagels.

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 19:59

Never mind Tea tomorrow will be a better day.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 23/02/2013 20:44

Enjoy the ale Tea, tomorrow will be better I'm sure.

I am now sat enjoying quiet. Kids in bed and I hope they wake up happier than today. Dd (2.7) has been very hard work. She waited for my Mum to come around before announcing she wanted to play her brothers game with the "bloody cats and bloody dogs!" (Nintendogs)Shock where she got that from I don't know. Then she had a meltdown when I told her off. Said meltdown lasted nearly an hour, she wasn't really much better for the rest of the day. Now she's looking all angelic in her bed.

Tomorrow will be my first proper day back on the calorie counting. Feeling motivated now I've signed up here. Smile

DoubleMum · 23/02/2013 20:50

Go for it tomorrow Sylvia.
We've had a stressful day today as DD cried at the rabbit workshop because she was too scared to hold the rabbit and thinks that means we won't let her get them, and DS's fish seems to be sitting on the bottom of the tank and not eating. Pets and kids eh?
Luckily it doesn't appear to be driving me to food.

WiseKneeHair · 23/02/2013 21:47

Evening chiefs.
Almost all quiet, just had DS1 (11yo) shouting down for his nightly hug! We think he might still want one when he's 18. Which is nice, but weird Grin
Had a slightly odd day food wise, but pretty much spot on calorie wise.
Never mind about today Tea I think you did well not drink a whole crate of beer. Sometimes they can just be very trying. You've been doing brilliantly, so one off day isn't going to spoil things.
Good luck with tomorrow Sylvia, we'll cheer you on, or give you a kick when necessary.
Kali I love the bar code reader, after two months, I'm still obsessed.

MrGeresHamster · 23/02/2013 21:51

Wow. I did not know about the scanner. I've just ran off into the kitchen to play... Wow.

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/02/2013 00:53

Slightly odd day to say the least. Had a couple of friends round for drinks this evening which was fab but a bit random food-wise.

Decided to clean the oven so slathered it in oven pride before bed last night then realised at 6o'clock this evening that I don't have any kitchen roll so couldn't clean it out to cook tea!

Anyway, managed to stay under my cal goal but not sure cider, vodka and stuffed jalapeños are a nutritious alternative to a main meal Blush

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 24/02/2013 08:52

Morning!

Did an unofficial weigh in this morning....need to be strict this week in order to lose anything. As I've only just re started mfp yesterday Saturday am will be my weigh in day (with a sneaky look mid week).

Wise my 11 yr old ds always wants a kiss and hug at bedtime. Still my baby when it suits him!

Randall you were still under your calories for yesterday and I bet the cider and vodka was enjoyed!

Ds is making cheese scones this morning so that will be lunch (only one for me though). He made some at school and they were fab. We ate them all so I said he could make some to take to my parents tomorrow.

Will take dd out for a walk and to the park before lunch. Exercise for me and gives her a chance to wear herself out.

Meatloaf for dinner with Jackets and veg.

Have a great Sunday everyone! Smile

kalidanger · 24/02/2013 09:04

Morning! Thanks for all the adds. Just had a nosey and someone had two baked potatoes yesterday and did some curves training! This is fun! It has to be fun, doesn't it? Or it's miserable :o It's also informative - a baked spud with extra light cheese spread and salad is a low cal and delicious lunch and I'll have it later.

Anyone got any good cous cous recipes? I love it pre-prepared but just can't make it nice at home.

kalidanger · 24/02/2013 09:23

Thinking about weight... I'm 38 39 in two months, 5'4 and around 200lbs Shock Thinking in nice round numbers maybe 150lb is a decent goal? I'll still be overweight and undertall but that's life sometimes. This has some interesting links

As a Brit, thinking in pounds is a bit weird but I'm sort of getting used to it.
