Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Bad day yesterday - went for lunch with DH. Even worse, it was an all-you-can -east Asian buffet place. Went over a bit on calories, as I expected, although not as bad as it could have been, I suppose, and stayed away from all deep fried spring rolls, samosas etc.

Will definitely be shredding later to make up for it and try to have a relatively restrained weekend before Monday weigh-in.....

DoubleMum · 26/01/2013 08:39

Morning Chiefs! Feeling a little bit lost as I haven't figured out what we are eating this weekend and that often means takeaways. Must avoid that as we are away for 2 nights next weekend and will have to eat out.

Herecomesbod · 26/01/2013 09:09

Morning Chiefs!

Am amazed that have lost another pound, despite blowing the last of my calories on some leftover Christmas chocs last night. Well, it would be rude not to, right? They were looking at me begging to be eaten.

I am with you on the strength training as I think long term it tones you up, so even though the number on the scales might not move downwards quite so much, you gain muscle tone which looks nicer in clothes . Am happy to report that after doing some kettle bell squats with the trainer the other day, my bum muscles hurt, but in a good way. Not in a Friday night kind of way...

I know what you mean about weekends/takeaways Doublemum. We are trying to meal plan for the week but it doesn't help that DH is away a lot with work at the moment. Going to try a Hairy Dieters recipe tonight. There is a section on "Fakeaways" in their book which looks interesting. Happy to share recipes with anyone who wants them.

Well done to all the losers and shredders. Some fab results coming in! (Sorry for epic post)

RandallPinkFloyd · 26/01/2013 09:20

Well done here a pound is a pound!

DoubleMum · 26/01/2013 09:50

Well done Herecomesbod! I would make something from Hairy Dieters but it seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Very odd. First someone posts Flakes through my door, then someone hides my healthy cookbooks!

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 26/01/2013 10:22

Morning chiefs! Not had time to post and AF is here which has done nothing for my willpower and I didn't want to derail you all when you are all doing so well by starting to go on about pies again Thanks to Bssh, dinkydoos and missnevermind for befriending on mod - I' m Shrewvole if anyone else wants more mfp pals.

Trip to the seaside today with work friends. Must stay strong in the pub. Plan is to get a bottle of wine and share it with a slow drinker then I won' t feel I can neck it and then have another and have the lowest cal veggie thing possible off the menu.

Well done on some truly impressive weight and inch losses. Also well done to the shredders - spamm mine is still in its plastic wrap too! I''ve had it a good few 18 months too...

Well done losers!

Was at a Burns Dinner last night, set meal, but I think I did OK. Food wise anyway. I did have a fair few glasses of wine. But I did have to do a speech, so needed the dutch courage.
I did do lots of dancing and had a snowy walk home so worked some of it off.

Have some lovely healthy meals planned for this weekend off GoodFood site.

Must do some Jillan today, have been too snowed in to gym.

BsshBossh · 26/01/2013 18:20

Well, binged on Curly Whirly bars today (4!) for no good reason but greed. I knew I shouldn't have bought a 5-pack. Never again. If I'm good I'll still be on calorie-target today but I am mightily Shock and Angry at myself. What a bloody waste of calories (I could have had second helpings of lunch or dinner!).

DoubleMum · 26/01/2013 18:58

Onwards and upwards Bssh.
The Diet Pixies have made me eat 4 squares of the homemade pizza I made for the children's sleepover tonight, but luckily MFP appears to agree with me that HM pizza isn't too awful calorie wise. I suspect my base was thicker than it meant but I also suspect the squares are smaller than a slice so hopefully it evens out. Just hoping I manage to get some sleep tonight, it's DS's birthday party tomorrow morning and I'd rather not be taking a car full of grumpy children on no sleep.

GeekLove · 26/01/2013 19:00

Grrrr weight in on Friday and have 3lb on! And that's after Shredding 4 times this week. Still AF is visiting in 5 days so I've got my sights on that. And it is still the first time since 2007 I have been able to wear my unforgiving but very warm ski pants.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 26/01/2013 19:52

Evening Chiefs.

bssssh At least it was 4 curly wurlys not 4 Snickers! I don't dare eat a cake at the moment I would not stop.

lizzy well done on speech - I love a burns night gala and a wee bit of Rabbie.

geek I feel your pain. I have gone up 2lbs since yesterday according to my new bastard scales! After a week of no loss. I don't know Whether hormones are to blame - I'm on the mirena so it's all hidden from me! I have been really, really good on food and have really upped the moving around. If the next official weigh in, on Thursday, is an increase or the same I will have to resort to desperate measures and jump on the 5:2 bandwagon.

Hope you all have lovely Saturday nights.

GeekLove · 26/01/2013 20:22

My food could be better but I blame the cold and that this part of the year is the pits for SAD. Looking forward to initiating gardening the thaw has been amazing!

spamm · 26/01/2013 20:36

Went to Arlington Cemetary this morning to help clean up the Christmas wreaths. It is an enormous task, as we laid 110,000 wreaths in mid-December. So I am counting that as serious exercise. Lots of weightlifting, walking and squatting!

Well done to all the losers - such great work. I love to see some of your ideas for food- some great new possibilities out there

I am off to the gym and then a quiet evening at home with a Beef Taco Casserole in the slow cooker which should be nice. By the way, I did get the job, so am now waiting for an offer and start date. I am still a bit apprehensive about it, but I may as well get on and enjoy it. I will need some new clothes, my clothes are too big and loose -Yay!

DoubleMum · 26/01/2013 20:46

Good news about the clothes Spamm - that's what counts after all, not numbers on the scale.

BsshBossh · 26/01/2013 21:48

Well done on the job, spamm!

DoubleMum · 26/01/2013 22:04

yes, fantastic news about the job too! (I swear I typed that out before but I think I just meant to.
I'm sitting here wishing I hadn't eaten 4 pieces of pizza. Am uncomfortably full.

RandallPinkFloyd · 26/01/2013 22:20

Well done spamm, fantastic news. And we'll done lizzy on the speech.

I had a tough day today, went to a friends for burns night supper. She is a fabulous cook and Scottish!

She made a beautiful 3 course meal with flying Scotsman as the main, it's my absolute favourite but I knew it was going to be mucho calories.

Anyway, only had bran flakes all day and had to take ds with me so i drove rather than drinking, and I just made it under my calories without using my exercise ones. So pleased! I really thought today would be the first day I went over so massively relieved.

Home now and going to have an early night so I'm not tempted by dirty beer. Will have a couple tomorrow instead.

Notfootball · 26/01/2013 23:07

Well done Randall, you're doing so well with your shredding and staying under the calories.

Spamm brilliant news about your new job. Good work all you losers!

BsshBossh · 26/01/2013 23:33

Well done Randall for staying under.

RandallPinkFloyd · 26/01/2013 23:39

I'm waiting for it to get easier, everyone said it would! They lied, it hurts more every time, poor legs are on fire everything she makes me pretend to skip Sad

I shall keep going though, I can't imagine ever getting past level one but I'll keep wheezing on!

RandallPinkFloyd · 26/01/2013 23:41

It was a close call staying under, and more luck than anything else I think. Although I did leave a third of my chicken, it almost made me cry but I did it!

Tabbykat · 27/01/2013 08:21

Well done Randall for showing such restraint - I've totally not this last couple of days and been over -only by a few calories but still - need to get self back on track.

It'e the jump rope bit on shred I find the killer - my legs hurt so much - that first circuit is the worst by quite a long way for me!

RandallPinkFloyd · 27/01/2013 08:35

Thank god for that! Not that I'm glad your legs hurt but I thought I was being a wuss. I can do all the rest, it's not easy but I can do it, but the skipping bit is torture!

Well I can't do press-ups obviously but that doesn't count because they're impossible.

Lizzylou · 27/01/2013 08:43

I think everyone has bits of the shred that they fond hard. Side lunges with front raises are my killers.
You are suddenly.using loads of muscles that you don't use normally.

What is flying Scotsman?? Well done randall for willpower of steel. And huge congrats to Spamm for new job.
Off to kettlecise now.
