Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

That sounds lovely, halfthesize

Thanks BigStickBIWI - Would some turkey and an avocado with a large spoon of mayo suffice as a lunch?

BigStickBIWI · 16/01/2013 14:27

Yes, I think so.

I had to buy lunch on the hop today, running from work to collect my son. What would you buy in the supermarket that you could eat in the car that would tick all the boxes. So - no cutlery, no cooking - no nothing :)

thekitchenfairy · 16/01/2013 14:43

Hellooooo

Well, the bad fat test didn't happen as trainer is ill, but, I shaved 2 minutes off my bootcamp workout time and I have lost 3 tummy inches Grin, since December and I no longer get asked if I am pregnant when wearing a t-shirt Grin Grin

But, oh the shame, I am rather well blessed in the norkage department... My bra pinged open mid sit-up, such was my enthusiasm for this particular task, i didnt realise the effect immediately, and somehow it escaped out of my top and ended up round my neck.

Can laugh about it now but it was awful. But i didn't run for the consolation cake or even a coffee, I just wasn't hungry, in fact this has never happened before I even had to remind myself to eat lunch!

BigStickBIWI · 16/01/2013 14:58

Blushing for you, thekitchenfairy!!!

TheEarlyBird - sliced meats - ham/corned beef/turkey; some supermarkets sell individual portions of cheese; check if they have a 'food to go' section - rotisserie chicken, if you want something hot (avoid the flavoured chicken pieces as they have sugar on them)

Well done to all those brilliant losses!

Sorry about your fall starfish - at least he's 2 and not 4 months like when I dropped DS.

Just shared a link with my mum over email from our beach holiday photos (we live in Kenya and she's not seen me since June last year when I was only 3 months post birth) so she hasn't seen my weight loss, and her exact words were:

"You are looking so thin, you are not starving yourself are you, really skinny, need to put a bit of meat on, have you been ill?"

Love mums - they always think you need fattening up, eh?

BigStick - what I actually had was a small portion of prawns with chili flakes and a packet of pre-sliced hard cheese and a bottle of water. Any good? Think I should have had some fat as well but couldn't think what Confused

halfthesize · 16/01/2013 15:07

thekitchenfairy I am blushing for youBlush but is rather funny.

boobz it's great to get comments about weight loss, I think it keeps you motivated and just feels fab, your mum sounds just like my mother in lawWink

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 15:08

Oooooh halfthesize that sounds bloody lovely! I might have that for my dinner actually. I forgot to get anything out of the freezer like a tit.

Hi thekitchenfairy At least you've lost though, it's really helpful doing measurements as well. I may start doing that. My waist has gone down an inch and a half from 32" to 30.5" so that's nice. I must get the measuring tape out again, although it is a rather unhelpful tapemeasure, since it is the tapemeasure used for all household tasks, and has been dropped in a tin of white emulsion. There are big splodges of paint where I failed to clean it properly Hmm So measuring my waist is good practice for Friday scratchies Grin

(scratchies are scratchcards, for all those non - Plymouth born folk; must be screeched whilst wearing a dressing gown, flip flops and swigging a can of Special Brew for full effect, as in 'Ere, ahm goin down the offie to do me lotteries an five scratchies'.)

Lavenderhoney · 16/01/2013 15:09

I think I need to eat something more exciting than the veg and meat from the dc dinner:)

B- Fried egg, cabbage and mushrooms
L- very short of time so a few cherry tomatoes and very soft cheese
D- roast chicken, green beans. Didnt touch the left over roasties, nor the lovely smelling apple crumble I made them which they had with ice cream.

Lots of water and a couple of skimmed milk cappuchinos.

I couldn't see the celeriac in the supermarket today and asked the young lady manning the section. She looked at me in in a pitying manner and said ' you mean celery - its over there. Long green sticks":)

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 16/01/2013 15:09

Epic catch up, slightly reeling.

Hope you and your DS are feeling better today Starfish, sounded very scary.

Thanks all for the lovely recipe ideas, please keep coming. Last night did the chicken with mushrooms, leeks and cream thing, delicious.

Today's lunch included enormous mound of buttery, creamy spinach slurped juices gluttonously with soup spoon

I am missing the wine, but isn't it lovely to be able to eat all these other things that have been off limits for years?

BigStickBIWI · 16/01/2013 15:09

Well, plenty of fat in the cheese, so not too bad. It's hard to find LC options when you're on the go.

Doshusallie · 16/01/2013 15:11

that was deffo worth saying twice Boobz - my mum always used to say I looked too skinny, bless her.

Well, meal of the day goes to...................... my lunch. WHAT WAS IT? I hear you cry....some exotic venison steak with celeriac jus and swede dauphinois on a bed of rocket and spinach with a homemade oily dressing???? NO!

2 egg, 2 bacon, mushrooms fried in butter, with a liberal sprinkling of salt, washed down with a pint of cold water, with a cup of builder's decaf tea for pudding. Is there anything more delicious, when very very hungry as I was at 2.45, than the above? I challenge you to beat it. Grin Simple, but effective. I am replete.

Oh and to whoever said that this WOE also makes you a better cook I would second that - in that I never used to and now I do. Smile

WillieWaggledagger · 16/01/2013 15:42

yy this woe has improved my cooking no end, and i'm much more adventurous now i'm not afraid of fat!

lavender in sainsbury's the celeriac is near the ginger/chillis/herbs etc (??!), and having assumed it would be with root veg (as it is in waitrose) for ages I thought they didn't sell it! (mind you, in my sainsbury's courgettes are in the 'exotic veg' section which doesn't say much for their categorisation imo!)

halfthesize · 16/01/2013 15:52

I third it Dosh my cooking has improved no end and much more variety.

slatternlymother it is scrummy and takes not time to prepare and cookSmile

littlermissstan · 16/01/2013 16:04

I just TURNED DOWN BIRTHDAY CAKE. It was an actual superhuman effort, was my very favourite fondant icing-sponge-jam-creamy filling kind. My colleague was all "you can have a tiny bit", and I SAID NO.

Sorry for the caps, but it's a bit of a victory for me, I have all sorts of ishoos with turning down food/being able to only have a little bit of something.

halfthesize · 16/01/2013 16:05

Well done LittlemissstanGrin

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 16:07

YEAH!

PostBellumBugsy · 16/01/2013 16:25

Whoohoo - well done littlermisstan! Spongy, jammy, creamy fondant cake is pure sugar & carb & the work of the devil!!!!! You deserve a million gold stars for turning it down. Grin

littlermissstan · 16/01/2013 16:33

Well, I would have thought that olives, chorizo, anchovies and oysters from the starter list were all good... Then best for mains maybe bouilliabaisse? Though I would maybe have the mussels mariniere and ask for a side salad instead of the fries.

I'm sure that someone more knowledgeable than me will come along though!

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 16:37

littlemiss Thanks I thought the bouilliabaisse sounded alright, but didn't know what aioli was?

Can I have the mussels and just ask for no fries? Or DH have them?
