Last one filled up really quickly, so here is a brand, spanking and distinctly thinner thread for you to fill up.

Gloria I really struggle with mornings for a few weeks and anything but yogurt (and maybe berries) would make me heave. So I would just have yogurt then an hour later eggs, bacon etc. I think its because carbs tend to sit on your stomach whereas your body can digest things easier overnight if you don't have carbs/processed food so its really empty in the morning.

As well as sweet cravings I start to go off strong/artificial flavours and find some stuff too rich/salty so my diet ends up quite plain but I end up appreciating more natural flavours of vegetables.

Last night I went to harvester for dinner had loads of chicken and salad and this morning I wasn't hungry or feeling funny at all (but then I did get up at 10:30 instead of 6:00!) I was disappointed that they have changed their blue cheese dressing to low fat as I love it!

Having said that my mind has remembered how lovely the KFC tower burger was a couple of weeks ago so I am battling with that even though I'm not hungry!!!

Anyway, well done with the amazing losses so far and good luck :)

vnmum · 12/01/2013 15:15

pistey which 10k are you doing? I am toying with the idea of doing 1 in may if i think i have time to get the training in.

timidviper · 12/01/2013 15:34

Just agreeing with BIWI and MrsHP, for those of you who started less than 2 weeks ago the inital big loss is water retention going and using the glycogen stores. It is normal for weight loss to slow or even stop for a bit after they go (who was it saying about how many of us on previous bootcamps had a stall on week3?)

To suggest you need to change what you are eating at this point to speed loss is unnecessary as it really is too soon to know and it is unrealistic to expect to keep losing this quickly. It will steady to a sensible, slow and steady loss in time and this is better for your skin and organs than crashing down too fast.

I'm off to a dinner dance tonight. I have picked a sensible menu for low carb eating and will decide when I get there just how sensible I want to be!

Carrotcakeisace · 12/01/2013 16:31

I weighed for the first time this morning and have lost 4.25lbs. I need to up my veg a bit though so have been and got lots of green leafy things from Sainsburys to much this week.

TooImmatureMincePies · 12/01/2013 17:03

I have lost 4lbs since last Sat - am really pleased! I have, however, succumbed to a tiny cheat - 3 bites of DH's pretzel. Blush I Shredded afterwards, so hopefully it will have been burned off already. Must drink more water - it's harder at home, for some reason. I have had 3 pints, though, plus 3 enormous cups of tea.

Went to Lidl today and bought heaps of stuff - the Greek yoghurt, cheddar, Stilton, sausages, prawns, smoked salmon, chicken thighs, mince, lots of veg...A big pack of chicken thighs was nearly £2 cheaper than the same weight of chicken breasts, and so much yummier!

TMI alert: this morning at 6.30 I weighed 9 stone 12, whereas at 9.45 after giving DD a massive bf and then having a poo, I weighed 9 stone 10.5!

slatternlymother · 12/01/2013 17:04

Envy of you starfish eating fish from outside your house!

Baked cupcakes today for DS and his friend, didnt even touch one I tried to think of them as kid food, like chicken teddies or a Happy Meal or something so I wouldn't be tempted.

Didnt have any time for lunch today (perils of having a toddler for you!) so I ate a bit of cheese and some cucumber and celery sticks. Natural yoghurt for breakfast. DH is making some jerk chicken for dinner (I have vetted ingredients), he is having his with rice and I'm having a salad.

NoelHeadbands · 12/01/2013 17:10

Burger with salad for tea tonight, with whipped cream to follow. Then off to see Les Mis, sans popcorn, minstrels and coke

timidviper · 12/01/2013 17:12

I'm also jealous of starfish getting such fresh and lovely fish, I wouldn't want to eat anything that came out of the sea by my house though!

Had a good lunch, Lidl mussels in garlic butter sauce then chicken with mushrooma in cream and green beans. Am just trying to sustain myself with snacks until our meal out tonight.

SavoirFaire · 12/01/2013 17:43

Hello everyone. Hope your weekends are going ok.

I felt absolutely awful when I got up this morning, I thought I was going to vomit. I had a massive craving for a glass of milk and as soon as I had a sip I felt much much better (although a little guilty as I am pretty sure that's not allowed, although I think I am ok with dairy). I wonder if I felt so bad for the reasons auntiemaggie suggests? I certainly perked up a lot after breakfast although I do think there's some kind of virus doing the rounds as well.

Today:

B: scrambled egg with mushrooms and spinach, an a bit of smoked salmon. Beats my normal weekend breakfast by some margin... And a glass of milk
L: THE cabbage. I had with a little ham and mayo. DH with tuna mayo
D: we are having a bolognaise with allowed veg. DH and I will have with the leftover cabbage instead of pasta.

I am 4 pounds down so far which is fabulous although am expecting second week to be much slower based on my previous experience on boot camp. DH is 5lb down, half a pound off 'normal' bmi for his height and over the moon. He is normally a snacker extraordinaire and I am genuinely impressed at how well he has done - not a single cheat!

Just had a real treat dinner, bacon, sausage, egg and mushroom all fried in butter. It was yummy and I really enjoyed it

I really want to start running but it's massively hilly here in Devon too so the last time I tried it I almost killed myself Hmm

BigStickBIWI · 12/01/2013 17:57

SavoirFaire - you may be OK with dairy, but have you worked out how many carbs were in that glass of milk?! 10g carbs in a 200ml serving of semi-skimmed milk! That's a huge chunk of your daily carbs

Doshusallie · 12/01/2013 18:09

Today I have done some amazin' grazin':

2 bacon 1 egg
Greek yoghurt, boiled egg
Boiled egg, cucumber and celery with pâté and cream cheese
packet of hog bites
4 brazil nuts

So far.........

BlackAffronted · 12/01/2013 18:10

Im afraid that I will be partying tonight Grin I dont get invited out often, so am grabbing it with both hands. Will stick to vodka & diet soda, have packed some salted cashews (are these ok?) and some cucumber sticks & sour cream dip to snack on. I will avoid the crisps and peanuts!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 12/01/2013 18:11

Checking in as i am struggling today!!

Went to party with dd2, all sandwiches and cakes and i resisted.

I would sell one of my dd's right now for a bit of chocolate!

I am not going to cave though i have worked so hard this week.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

Yama · 12/01/2013 18:19

Beautiful day here in the West of Scotland. Hope everyone is finding it easy to be booze free this weekend. My tactic (realised retrospectively) is to have steak for dinner and it seems to be working.

B - 3 bacon and a fried egg
L - Chicken leg with salad and mayo
S - Couple of spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt
D - Rump steak with leeks and courgette fried in butter with a Stilton sauce and steamed cauliflower.

Loadsa water, 2 teas and a coffee.

Feeling great. Off to read thread and see what I have missed today.

BigStickBIWI · 12/01/2013 18:23

BlackAffronted - NO! Cashews are very high in carbs - Sainsbury's Basics Roasted Salted Cashews are 21.1g per 100g!

Roasted macadamias or almonds are much better if you can get your hands on some of those.

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2013 18:28

Evening all.

Just catching up. Good day food wise here, actually a good day all round.

I was going to buy some macadamias earlier but stopped as the bag was 200g and if I'd started, I would not have been able to stop. Easier not to have them in the house.

Family are having tacos but I'm having lettuce wrapped ones. Making it now. Yum.

BigStickBIWI · 12/01/2013 18:29

Is that light shining in my eyes the reflection from your halo, Pistey? Wink

OP posts:
BlackAffronted · 12/01/2013 18:36

BIWI, my bag says 7.7g per 100g?

BlackAffronted · 12/01/2013 18:36

Grin No, it was peanuts I picked up! D'oh!

BlackAffronted · 12/01/2013 18:37

Can I have a handful, pretty please?

slatternlymother · 12/01/2013 18:38

Oooh starfish you, me and the kitchenfairy all live rather close! X

slatternlymother · 12/01/2013 18:41

piste I feel the same way, I'm not bothering with nuts even on bout camp light because I will eat and eat and eat and eat...

Do we have to go onto bootcamp light if we don't want? Apart from craving diet coke and apples last night, I've not missed any of it. And I'm definitely getting enough nutrients from my veg I think, and I'm topping up with a multivitamin when I remember, so... What do you think BIWI?
