Last one filled up really quickly, so here is a brand, spanking and distinctly thinner thread for you to fill up.

Did I dream it or did someone post a recipe for cheese 'scones'? Would like to try making them so if anyone took note of the recipe I'd be v grateful. Smile

Off to bed now with my trusty bottle of water, no doubt will be up and down to the loo all night!

This thread is keeping me on track thank you everyone. When I did C25K (sadly lapsed), I found the thread with Pistey, sybil et al at great support.

All hail MN!

Night all.

JessicaWakefield · 11/01/2013 22:11

Lucy and Bessie and anyone else struggling a little bit keep on posting and if you can stick with it. This is such a natural, healthy and delicious way to eat. I don't consider it to be a diet anymore. I'm probably maintaining now and so it's just a woe the benefits of which are weight loss, energy, clear skin, no bloating, no guilt about "syns", points, calories, confidence, wearing nice clothes... Stick with BIWI's threads girls, the support and friendship on here will see you through.

Slatternly sorry to hear about your rubbish day but brilliant you ignored temptation.

Bessie123 · 11/01/2013 23:13

Thankyou jessica I will keep going, at least till the end of bootcamp. After that I may want a large glass of wine to drown my disappointment...

frenchfries22 · 12/01/2013 01:40

After an initial amazing 6lb loss in the first four days it has slowed although not due to weigh until tomorrow, I think I am going to limit cheese to one meal a day as its obviously too much dairy. Its a bit tougher being a veggie I think. Last night I had a huge plate of veg with melted butter and a big bowl of cauliflower rice with butter - it was lovely so I think I will make this my go to evening meal.

Ilovemyteddy · 12/01/2013 07:16

Morning all

I was 153.2lb this morning so I am finally in the 10st+ zone. Can't quite believe it! Only 6.2lbs to go to reach the target of losing 77lbs I set myself on Jan 15th 2012. I may just hang around to try and get down to 140lbs, although a lot of people, including DH are saying that I don't need to lose any more weight (I do!)

I can't tell you how much better I feel, physically and mentally. I get a lot more done during the day as I am so full of beans (not literally, because they aren't low-carb Grin )

Keep the faith everyone.

WillieWaggledagger · 12/01/2013 07:24

Lovely post Jess

Fab teddy - agree about full of beans too!

Yama · 12/01/2013 07:33

I'm like Frenchfries - seem to be maintaining. Have teetered at 10.1 and a quarter since Tuesday (started last Wednesday). Not sure what my initial loss was as I didn't have scales.

Anyway, at 5.6 I'm wondering if this is the weight I'm meant to be.

So, despite not losing any weight all week I am happy to report the following:

Clear skin
Loads more energy at work
Cognitive abilities have improved
No food cravings
Ability to drink less caffeine
The best week's food I've ever had

All in all, I'm happy. Will be happier when I've been able to use the toilet. Don't feel constipated in the usual way but I get anxious if I can't go.

Yama · 12/01/2013 07:37

Oh, and the butter chat has reminded me that my Nana lived until she was 94 and practically lived on full fat everything. She would always start any conversation with her GP by making a statement about how they would not make her change. Grin

TheHumancatapult · 12/01/2013 07:52

Yama

I'm aiming for 10 stone am around 5.6/5.7 think a lot depends on how your weight is made up to still have a little way to go I am top heavy without a doubt

Ilovemyteddy · 12/01/2013 07:55

Yama my step-grandad lived till he was 94 too, and ate full-fat everything. His son just died and he was 100. Both of them were very active right up until the end. Although Grandad wasn't my biological grandparent I think he passed on the cheese-eating gene to me. I never saw him without a piece of cheese, paring bits off with his penknife before putting the rest of the cheese in his pocket Smile. Bless him.

EwanHoozami · 12/01/2013 07:55

teddy - hurrah for getting to the 10's! It's such a boost to see the 'big number' change, isn't it. You've had such an inspiring loss and positive attitude

Lucy if you do not feel your jeans waistband getting flappy by this time next week I will eat my (low carb) hat.

On the subject of which, I only now have one pair of jeans that fit me and a bag full of flappy size 16's. If anyone has seen any links to amazing jeans bargains in the sales, do please share Wink

The spicy beef casserole that I had last night was delish...

Chipolte paste (23g/100g but you only need a teaspoon for four portions) and chopped jalapenos, shallots, chopped toms and cheapo stewing steak all bunged in the slow cooker. Leave house. Come back six hours later and feel very smug

Yama · 12/01/2013 07:58

You are right TheHumanCataput. I have skinny arms and legs so the weight is congregating at my waist. If I lose my waist though, the boobs go too.

Ilovemyteddy · 12/01/2013 07:58

I'm 5ft 7 and aiming for 10.5st although 10 would be nice. What remains of my fat is all around my tummy so once I get to 10.5st I am going to start exercising more seriously ( currently swim 4 times a week which has sorted out my bingo wings and back fat!). Need to hit the gym though.

BigStickBIWI · 12/01/2013 08:02

Brilliant, ilovemyteddy, and how inspiring Thanks

It is interesting how people suddenly start getting worried about your weight though. I've had this too - people saying "you won't lose too much, will you?" I don't know why they do it. I wonder if, in some cases, they are jealous. Perhaps they see you in a certain way - you're the one supposed to be the fat one/they are supposed to be the thin one, etc.

It's irritating though. I know full well that even at my pre-Christmas weight I still had more to lose. You can see it on my tummy!

Yama - you will not and should not expect to lose weight every day. If you keep on keeping on, though, it will go.

Ewan - Grin @ smug! Sounds delicious.

Yama · 12/01/2013 08:02

ILove - yes active. I forgot that she was very active too. Not as in exercise as such but she walked everywhere, joined walking groups.

Good to know a correlation between cheese and long life. Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2013 08:03

Morning all lovelies

Not sure where I'm aiming. I'm 5:8 and when I was 9 upper something's I possibly was too low. You could see the bones on my chest. So I'm thinking around 10 -10:7. But I'm running a 10K in May so have to get my arse into fitness training. I do go rowing twice a week, but running is something else!

BigStickBIWI · 12/01/2013 08:08

The weight range for you, according to the BMI charts, is 130-159lbs, which is a pretty big range!

So I guess it's about what you feel most comfortable with, in combination with what looks good on you/how your clothes are fitting. Remember that as you train for the run, combined with your rowing, you will be laying down muscle (so weighing more) and likely to change your shape as you tone up.

So the fit of your clothes is probably the best measure

LucyVFood · 12/01/2013 08:26

Thanks for the encouragement Jess and Ewan. I'll keep the faith, even through the prospect of snow makes me think about hot chocolate and toddies Grin

Valdeeves · 12/01/2013 08:35

Hi guys - really impressed by the weightloss - my scales are broken but I think I've lost at least a pound as I look a little but less baggy round the middle - not enough to get into the jeans I planned for.
Whoever posted stay away from the cake I love you! ( I always up reading all before bed as kids are very young so lose track of who said what.
Also will try the asparagus too!
I have an underlining medical condition and I have found this diet amazing - I think I buried my head in the sand about sugar and how much it messes with my blood ( I can't keep enough salt in my blood.)
Brekkie and lunch : salmon and cream cheese rolled together.
Tea: Salmon baked with ginger, soy and butter with a watercress, rocket and spinach salad.
I just went to the cinema tonight and for the first ever in my life we had no snacks not even a drink and I wasn't bothered! Bizarre!
We saw Les Mis - it was absolutely amazing, made even better by the fact that hubby and I never get out together. My MIL babysat and we are all off to our neices party today - step away for the cake!!!
Keep it up guys, amazing weightloss and food ideas - you are doing so brilliantly and it's so encouraging for me!

  • am off to get up and have breakfast and try and get three adults and two children out the house in and an hour and a half - wish me luck xxxx
Valdeeves · 12/01/2013 08:36

As I can't keep enough salt in my blood I should add - I'm allowed more - so salty butter is my best friend xxxx

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2013 08:39

Wow. That is a huuuuuuuuge range! I'm aiming for the middle

I'm doing all the training low carb, feel confident about that. Less confident about the running! But yes, muscle build up. I'll bear that in mind. Am losing weight at the mo which feels great.

Going on the water tomorrow, first time since before Christmas. The river has been bonkers, lots of flooding, but 7.30 tommorrow morning. Think it might be ffffrrrrizzzzzin and think ill be exhausted!!

MegTheCat · 12/01/2013 08:58

Morning all. I'm just waiting for my ipod to charge up before going out on my C25k run. There are some very impressive losses here already - well done! And well done to those who haven't lost yet but are still keeping on - it seems to be quite random when the weight falls off but it does...
I have not really lost so far but will ignore until the weigh in on Monday.
Ewan - I got new jeans for £5 in Primark sale. I am skint economising at the moment and it seems silly to spend much when it won't fit in a few months anyway. (Learnt that the hard way - bought 2 suits in October and they are falling off me now)

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 12/01/2013 08:59

Anyone thinking of having a little cheat .... Say, a Chinese and a couple of drinks, please learn from my mistake .... You can't! My night out was lovely but a bit disastrous on the food front due to an awful restaurant that wouldn't let you order what you wanted [hmmm] waiting staff that failed to bring the jug of water requested 4 times ....and me possibly being a bit weak in my choices I have gained almost three pounds [waill]. Oh and the carb hangover is grim, grim, grim. Off to buy some low carb foods and get straight back on that wagon!

MegTheCat · 12/01/2013 09:02

I've been doing ok sticking to bootcamp btw - a bit processed on Thursday as I stayed late after work for a social / quiz and ate my emergency snacks (2 pepperamis and an atkins breakfast bar) It was probably as well though as it kept me off the buffet. Why are buffets always really carby?

MegTheCat · 12/01/2013 09:08

Oh that's rotten Taffy. Bastards.
Just watch out in the coming week as you may well get carb cravings / find yourself inexplicably accepting carby things people offer you
