Welcome everyone!
The key to success, you will find, is planning ahead. This is not an easy WOE (way of eating) to follow if you leave things to chance - especially if you are eating on-the-go.
Make sure that you have got plenty of low carb stuff to hand, and that you know what the rules are, and what veg/salad is on the allowed list. You might find it helpful to print the list of veg off, so that it is easily to hand. And remember, for the first couple of weeks of Bootcamp, you should really aim to focus on eating veg/salad that is no more than 3g carbs per 100g.
You also need to prepare yourself for the fact that you might feel a bit shitty for the first few days. This is often called 'carb flu'. The more carb-based your current diet, the more likely this is to happen. If you are feeling dreadful, drink plenty of water and make sure you add more salt to your food. A cup of boiling water with some Marmite/Bovril/Oxo can help here. Take paracetamol if you have a headache. If you are really, really suffering, add back in some carbs, and take it a bit more slowly. A slice of wholemeal toast, for example. (However, the aim of Bootcamp is to get you quickly into ketosis, and thus starting to see weight loss quickly - so if you can resist the carbs in the first few days, this is better).
Ketosis is the state your body goes into when it starts to burn fat for fuel, rather than carbs. It is often confused with ketoacidosis, which is a dangerous condition associated with diabetes.
You will know that you are in ketosis initially, as you will find that you are no longer hungry - you may even forget to eat. (Yes - it's true!). You may also find you have a metallic, unpleasant taste in your mouth. Drink plenty of water, and it should soon disappear.
But above all, come to this thread (and the subsequent ones - I will start a new thread each week), and share your experiences and ask any questions that you may have.
It's a peculiar way of eating to start with, and it will feel like a real leap of faith. We are so conditioned to see carbs as good and fat as bad, that telling you to eat lots of fat will feel very wrong. But what we're doing here is re-balancing the proportions of food that we eat. Currently, 'healthy eating' guidelines tell us that we should be eating carbs:protein:fat. What we will be doing is reversing that, so we are eating fat:protein:carbs. Eating fat does not make you fat! Despite what we have been told for the last 40 years or so, fat is good for us. It's the carbs that are dangerous. High carb diets are associated with obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cancer and Alzheimers.
If you're worried about something, or have a question, ask it here. If I can't answer it, there's bound to be someone who can.
And above all - good luck!
