Motivational Monday - where we are motivated to stick to our diet and exercise plans for the rest of the week.

ohhhh a motivational meet up!

Ok so I live nowhere near Manchester, but I can get excited on your behalf!

TheOneWithTheHair · 07/02/2013 14:35

Can't you find a way to get here anyone who wants to come? I realise this may be totally unrealistic

Loads of places to eat if you want food. Also the Steam House is a nice pub. Good beer apparently. It depends where everyone is staying. We could go to Manchester or stay in Sale.

northender · 07/02/2013 15:03

I'm not a million miles away but not sure I'm up for a meet up Grin. Will have a think on it!
Good day her so far. No snacking other than planned ones.

SPBInDisguise · 07/02/2013 15:05

Aww norrhender we'd love you to come

SPBInDisguise · 07/02/2013 18:00

OK despite my motivation today I have had a bit of a blip but I do have I think, the best possible excuse. Coming back from the childminder and 3yo DD told me she had made a cheese scone "for YOU mummy" and "it's in the shape of a heart mummy because I love you". Ahhhh
She was then having one, and made me have one too - I got away with having half a small one Blush
I'm not even that keen on cheese scones!

TheOneWithTheHair · 07/02/2013 19:27

I think that's a perfect excuse. I'm sure it wouldn't have been worth the heart break if you'd said no. :)

reastie · 08/02/2013 06:41

I agree with hair SPB - best possible excuse, it would have been a shame to say no.

I'm afraid moving up to Manchester for a meet up is out of the question Grin .

Reporting back on the Pilates, DH did not one, but two Pilates workouts (about 40 minutes), then we ate some ice cream (about 1/4 of a small tub between us).
He has agreed to do Pilates every week with me, and while he found some of the exercises hard, he felt better for them.
We talked about the amount we used to eat vs what is quite enough now. For example, we had half a jar of tomato and mascarpone and tomato sauce with 2/3 of a pack of fresh pasta ravioli, 1/4 of a small tub of ice cream and a bottle of wine between us. Back in the old days, we would have had a whole jar, a whole packet (or two) of pasta, and a garlic flatbread, bottle of wine and a cheesecake.
Despite drastically cutting back our date night fare we still felt full. Habits can and do change, and it can be a good thing. I hope we can keep the exercise habit as it's a great thing to do together.

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/02/2013 08:14

There is nothing on this earth that would persuade me to exercise with dh. Grin

Morning everyone. How's it going this week?

KatoPotato · 08/02/2013 10:25

Hey all! I'm sitting enjoying my pilates pain from class last night where I managed a full shoulder stand with arms on thighs (chufty badge please)

Have to agree though there's no way I'd let DH get involved! If in putting my shred DVD on he's under strict instruction to stay up in his studio! He's a lean nut anyway who swims and keeps a swimmers physique despite scoffing creme eggs by the dozen

The custard creams keep getting consumed! I've not weighed yet today but I'm doubtful! I'm not going to get demotivated, because I know I've done well I'm three stone lighter than I was last year and still receive almost daily compliments... Ideally I want to be 9st something at some point!!

KatoPotato · 08/02/2013 11:15

1 pound off. That'll do me! 150lbs dead on the nose.

SPBInDisguise · 08/02/2013 11:24

:o well done

KatoPotato · 08/02/2013 11:38

Well I'm finally back to my pre-xmas weight so here's hoping! Pass the custard creams!

northender · 08/02/2013 17:05

Well I'm happy today, hadn't weighed this week but was doing a clinic today and couldn't resist weighing..........4 more pounds off GrinGrinGrin. 4 pounds more and I'll be under 17st.

SPBInDisguise · 08/02/2013 17:25

fantastic northender, keep it up! :o

reastie · 08/02/2013 17:31

north that's excellent - well done you. You'll be under 17 stone before you know it

kato well done on pre xmas weight. How are you enjoying the new house?

IMST I don't think I could exercise with DH either. I usually banish him away when I do the shred.

SPBInDisguise · 08/02/2013 21:54

Just had a huge motivation boost. Trying to work out what to wear for this presentation I'm doing in Manchester and also have a 40th birthday to go to in April. Went through my wardrobe and have a green skirt suit with cream top for the presentation, and long grey skirt with sparkly black top for the party (both those outfits sound hideous as I describe them :o). All bought in thinner days, combination of size 12 and size 14. But the main thing is when i tried them on and looked in the mirror I actually thought they looked good on me. Not, they'll do I suppose, not as bad as I feared, but good. It's been over a decade since I've done that although I have liked myself more and more as I've lost weight. And it's not about the looks - I know ladies twice my size who are stunners, I am not. But for me the lack of control over my weight was linked to feelings of failure and self hate. I look at myself now and think "see, you can do it"

northender · 08/02/2013 22:21

Thats great SPB. You'll look and feel fab Smile

InMySpareTime · 09/02/2013 06:41

See! We're making great progress and having some brilliant weight loss and NSVsSmile.
Re. Exercising with DH, as a storyteller I need to be comfortable making a fool of myself in public so this was no biggie compared to when I did a nativity story in front of 30 under 5s and about 200 adults in church! Also, there's no way he'd do it if I didn't, and he drives to his office job, so really needs to get into some exercise.

SPBInDisguise · 09/02/2013 12:05

Lol at making a fool of yourself in public.
Am having a day off today, and probably tomorrow too. Trying not to undo all my hard work.
Right, unless you'd prefer I didn't going to start a thread about April, looking forward to meeting you lot and the Manchester MNers :)

InMySpareTime · 09/02/2013 12:24

Go for it, I'll keep an eye out for it.

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/02/2013 12:55

Every one is doing so well. Sounds like a good week all round. :)

Link pls SPB.

SPBInDisguise · 09/02/2013 13:05

Just been baking with kids, much licking out of bowls and pans, uurgh

InMySpareTime · 09/02/2013 13:08

Follow it up with a crazy dance-a-thon and you'll be fineSmile

northender · 09/02/2013 15:19

After yesterdays pleasant surprise I'm right on it now to get under 17st as soon as I can. Keep it up everyone Smile .
