Love, love, love the Corset IMST loving even more that you got them in such a miniature size!

Stopping at two biscuits is very commendable north , I bought a Jamaican ginger cake for DF visiting on Weds and helped him polish the lot off!

My Facebook (I know!) is heaving with New Year losers, all dropping between 4 and 8 lbs in their first weeks. Need to remind myself how quick my own fell off at the start and that I'm still playing the long (long long) game!

All my usual classes are still all booked out, and I'm going to have to phone at 0830 on Weds to secure my next weds pilates class!

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/01/2013 11:55

WasIBU to tell IMST's dcs not to knock on the door at 7.45 in the morning!! To be fair they wanted to play with dd in the snow. They get up rediculously early and so 7.45 probably feels like midday to them but I am not a morning person. I almost growled! Blush Sorry IMST. Grin

We had about 1cm of snow here but it was enough for them to get excited about.

Food wise I'm doing ok but I need to lay off the biscuits and start walking more.

InMySpareTime · 18/01/2013 12:20

Sorry Hair, they were up since 6 as usual, had breakfast, were dressed and ready for school. I had no good reason to keep them in. They asked if they could knock at yours, I said "no, it's too early". Might well get an after school snow play in before dark thoughSmile.
Weighed this morning, down to 10st 3Grin
1st to go until healthy BMI.

LollipopViolet · 18/01/2013 12:33

Hmph, been to the job centre in the snow - not impressed. Talk of Mandatory Work Activity Programme, Work Programme and making me apply for bar work/catering etc which I think I'd struggle with.

Back home now, going to have some soup for lunch and then am doing nothing. Might go into hibernation til the snow goes away.

We've had a fair bit of snow here (Midlands) and I am soooooo tempted to make a snowman! Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/01/2013 13:08

Go for it LV and then put a picture on your profile for us to see. Grin

LollipopViolet · 18/01/2013 15:09

I would, but a) it's too cold Grin and b) it doesn't look like good snow to build with. But mostly, it's too cold Grin

On another note, a lot of the buses in my area have stopped running Shock

So glad I accepted that lift to and from the job centre this morning!

gussiegrips · 18/01/2013 16:30

Hi guys, been busy dribbling over corsets...wow!

In my bag of "clothes I can't wear" I have a beautiful black lace polo necked top (it's a lot prettier than it sounds) and a pair of tailored black trousers - both size 14.

If I stick to this, I could, potentially be able to wear them by the summer. With a smashing corset over the top.

There's a motivation for me!

Am doing ok, just resisting weighing myself. I've realised that I allow the scales to dictate my mood - if they are favourable I think "yee-ha!" (and eat some crap to celebrate), if they are not, I think "oh buggrit" (and cosole myself with some crap)

What I CAN report is that I can see a slight difference in my first and second tyres. By which I mean, I have a better view of my third.

LollipopViolet · 18/01/2013 16:52

gussiegrips, cheer all you want! I find I usually notice my weight loss in my clothes and appearance before the scales catch up, so you're doing good!

Snow ruined my plans to go and try on dresses for my friends' wedding, so will have to go once it starts to thaw . Ideally, I'd like whatever dress I buy to be a flattering size 14 on me, but as I'm a 16 now, and the wedding is in March, that's beginning to look doubtful. So, I'll settle for simply not wanting to hide from people taking my picture!

InMySpareTime · 20/01/2013 08:34

Well, it was my 11th anniversary yesterday, went out for cake on Thursday, and Friday (ok, we shared a slice on Friday), stayed in for cake last night, finishing it tonight. There is no way I will have lost anything by Monday! Back on it next weekSmile.

TheOneWithTheHair · 20/01/2013 09:14

I'm dreading weighing tomorrow but I need to do it. I need to stop ignoring things. It's the only way I won't put on everything I've lost.

KatoPotato · 20/01/2013 09:22

IMST it was me and DH's 11th anniversary too yesterday!

northender · 20/01/2013 09:32

Congratulations kato and imst on your anniversaries!
imst, it's partly about realism isnt it? I knew I'd have a rubbish month around Christmas so just tried to minimise the damage. You'll get back on it tomorrow and it may have slowed you down but it won't have stopped you from your long term goal Smile
I've had a good week I think. Hoping for another kilo off when I weigh on Tuesday, fingers crossed.

LollipopViolet · 20/01/2013 10:41

I'm hopeful for tomorrow, which makes a change.

I WAS supposed to be going to the ice hockey tonight - waiting for an announcement to say if it's on or not. If it isn't, I might actually cry, because I haven't been anywhere except the job centre since Friday and am going slightly crazy being stuck in the house!

I'm not holding my breath though.

LollipopViolet · 20/01/2013 11:43

Yeeeeeah game on! That's me happy. Right, better get fed, and ready to go to the rink :)

KatoPotato · 20/01/2013 12:56

Wahoo LV your inspiration is infectious! I'm off to the gym!

LollipopViolet · 20/01/2013 13:52

Haha Kato, I'm not playing, just watching my favourite team, but good on you for going to the gym :)

gussiegrips · 20/01/2013 14:21

Happy to report that I have joined the gym, a class only membership.

I have signed up for classes I like - ad need to cancel them all as I'd forgotten that there's a buch of stuff going on, oops. But, kids and DH all going out in a minute (hurry up, hurry up, hurry up) so I'll re-book.

Am not weighing at all, quite like it. Today, I noticed my belly is slightly less fat. Not much, but a little. It's very boost making.

Good luck for tomorrow, all!

northender · 20/01/2013 15:10

The dc were doing other things yesterday so dh and I went to the gym for the first time in ages. Have had health problems for a couple of years so got out of the habit of going. However although it is a long term thing, I've been well for several months now so have no excuse. Meant to pick up a list of classes but forgot so will have a look online.
The other "regular" thread I'm on is a money saving one so the gym fits in well to both as the monthly subscription has been money wasted for too long.
Enjoy the ice hockey LV
gussiegrips hope you tummy keep shrinking! I don't weigh at home, have got rid of the scales. I weigh once a week when I'm working in clinic, on scales much more accurate than my old home set were and no temptation to keep weighing in between Grin

Tobermory · 21/01/2013 09:14

Morning all,

Snow day here after a fairly snowy weekend so need a plan to keep the DC entertained.

Weigh in - down 3lbs ...hurrayy!!
Im weighing in most mornings, think that might be a bit of a habit forming but find it quite motivating. Maybe need to do somethign about that as I expect when the weight loss slows might find it a bit disheartening.

Also NSV, Im on the last belt hole! I had my DH put extra holes in a few years ago when i was on a diet but i never got to use this last one, not comfortably anyway. But today its done up and Im hoiking my jeans up!

Have been shredding during the week, which whilst not easy, is certainly less hard. Darent start level 2 yet though!

IMST loving the corsets. Maybe in 10kg time I'll go shopping!

LollipopViolet · 21/01/2013 09:37

Morning all!

Well, I'm 2lb down, so that's 2 of the extra 3lb that snuck on last week dispensed with, woohoo!

If the buses are running properly tomorrow, might go for a swim. It's clearly worked, so that's good :)

InMySpareTime · 21/01/2013 09:38

Maintain this week, not bad given conjunction of TOTM and a long weekend full of cake! Back on it aiming for a loss next weekSmile
Loving the snow (we finally have it!)

TheOneWithTheHair · 21/01/2013 09:40

Well done Tober. 3lbs is fantastic.

We have finally had enough snow for the dcs to play in. Yay! They were sooo excited.

Well I bit the bullet and weighed and I've lost (can't remember how much). I seem to have settled at the 10st 13 mark. While I'm happy I haven't gained, I don't want this to be my settling weight. I want to at least be a comfortable size 12.

I feel quite motivated today though as I know I haven't slipped backwards and I'm taking that as a positive about my eating habits. They must have improved. I think I need an ultra strict week to start things going again.

LollipopViolet · 21/01/2013 10:33

Hmmm, looks like I just missed the snow up there then! absolutely none when we drove up for the hockey, or when we drove home.

Really hoping the buses and roads are OK tomorrow - don't like being cooped up all the time!

northender · 21/01/2013 10:42

We have snow too this morning. Went out for a brisk snowy walk with a friend after the school run. We did 4 miles so feeling good.

reastie · 21/01/2013 11:46

Well done on the loses and maintaining. Somhow I've managed to lose 1 lb this week which is great. I'm edging closer to wearing my pre preg clothes.

Lots of snow here, well, quite a bit. At least 5 inches. I spent about an hour this morning clearing the snow from the drive and car. Lots of digging and sweeping snow around so feel like I've had a workout. School where I work is open today (although it's my day off) but sounds like from the emails that most students aren't in and lots of staff struggling in. Dreading driving in this tomorrow but needs must I guess. DH has a snow day from work so is looking after DD whilst I crack on with making curtains for the spare room, which has meant I've been too busy to think about eating - result!

Hair good luck with the strict week - sometimes I find that does really help get me back on track.

north well done in the snow walk - I'm sure you burn extra calories walking in snow too as it makes your legs work harder
