Motivational Monday - where we are motivated to stick to our diet and exercise plans for the rest of the week.
Progess logged on Kato's spreadsheet (if you want to of course)

Glad to hear it's going well Kato. How's the house? Have you unpacked everything yet?

Tobermory · 08/01/2013 11:29

Morning all,

Am feeling quite virtuous this morning. Had a good day yesterday, well within calories and a good start this morning.
Been for a 3 mile walk - some of which was very uphill which reinforced how scarily unfit i am but according to MFP it burned off 238 calories!!

Ordered the hairy dieters book - thanks for that Hair

A slice of toast and glass of juice from breakfast.
I bought some weight watchers pitta breads yesterday which are great for calories....will try at lunchtime i think and say how they taste!
Tea - a 'Look what we found' packet or jacket and salad

KatoPotato · 08/01/2013 11:32

Yes, all unpacked and organised! I've decluttered, taken three trips to the tip, vacuum packed and donated!

We were previously in an impossibly tiny house with DH working FT from home in our bedroom, now he has an attic office and I have a lovely bedroom. I've got more than one functioning kitchen cupboard, a hall for coats, a secure garden and a room for DS to play in (and no more toys in the living room!)

I'm sure it will all got to pot on Monday when it's DS third birthday, we've got masses of plastic toot heading this way I fear!

I did have intentions of FLYladying - but alas my sink was not shined last night!

BonkeyMollocks · 08/01/2013 11:38

Kato It takes time to get everything sorted but it sounds like your doing well.

I have had coco pops for brekkie (yes I know - they are back) and ever since I have had dtomach pains coming and going . Starting to wonder if there may be something in the dairy thing Confused . Doc said that dairy was fine as long as I wasn't suffering from the squits but I was fine until I had the milk!

Tober Sounds like a good start! Keep it up! :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/01/2013 11:39

Three miles is impressive Tober and I'd be interested to know about the pitta. We eat loads of it here but it is quite calorific.

That sounds brilliant Kato. I can't believe you're so organised, especially as you moved right before Christmas. Your new house sounds ideal. Dh is working from home now and he's doing my head in. He won't leave me in peace!! Grrrrr.

KatoPotato · 08/01/2013 11:50

Three miles is awesome Tober

I did the first ever couch 2 5k run on Sunday, must have missed the first few seconds and just started running, to the music, got a stitch, and then a voice kicked in 'Okay so you've completed your 5 minute brisk walk, you're ready for your first 60 second run! so I was completely out of synch for the rest of the run!

I just sorted of jogged and walked and ended up in ASDA browsing bras whilst being told 'well done, you're going GREAT!'

Will try again tonight!

Tobermory · 08/01/2013 12:15

I've heard of C25k but feel not at all enthusiastic about running. I am in awe of those people you see effortlessly jogging.
Maybe, ill be brave .....

I do like that idea of setting off to do excersise and somehow end up shopping Grin

WW pitta..... I was impressed and only 100 calories, I'll be buying them again!

laughalot · 08/01/2013 13:24

Hi can I join please :) I was ashamed when I weighed in yesterday I was 14 stone 5lb :( . I go away in July so this is the kick up the backside that I need.

InMySpareTime · 08/01/2013 13:26

I finally got that cup of tea I was going to make this morningHmm.
I changed plans on the roast chicken, now having gammon and egg for dinner.
The weather is really gloomy, not conducive to exercise at all. I am in awe of all you winter joggers, it's really not my skill set at all!

InMySpareTime · 08/01/2013 13:28

Welcome in Laugh, I was not far off that when I started on here, and I did not carry it wellBlush. Still here 3+ stone lighter though, ready to help a new batch of motivated MNersSmile.

laughalot · 08/01/2013 13:37

InMySpareTime · 08/01/2013 14:02

Laugh, I don't have a magic solution, just smaller portions, listening to my body and stopping when I wasn't hungry (instead of stopping when completely full)
Drinking water, walking more, not snacking mindlessly.
Instead of hoovering up boxes of chocolate, I now eat one chocolate slowly, enjoying all of it.
Those things, week in week out, added up to 2lb average loss a week, which is a lot over 6 months.

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/01/2013 15:00

Haha Kato I was going to link to the Munchy box yesterday but I thought you might want to bury the memory. I remember the conversation about it lasted days. Grin

Welcome laughalot. Great that you've got started. IMST is I think the most consistent on the thread so far and she's done brilliantly. I'd be sceptical and jealous if I didn't know her in rl. Grin

I've lost 1.5st since I started on here but I didn't lose any over the whole of the summer. About 8 weeks. This thread does keep you going though. :)

BonkeyMollocks · 08/01/2013 15:41

Ahhh the Munchy box is back Grin

Welcome Laughalot !

I love that we have loads of newbies :)

reastie · 08/01/2013 16:21

roulade · 08/01/2013 17:39

Hi all

I had a good day yesterday with a long walk and stuck to my calories on mfp. Today I walked around three miles in the morning and then started my new Zumba dvds this afternoon. I have also cooked up a big pot of veg soup for some healthy lunches this week. I will check out the Hairy Bikers book too!

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/01/2013 17:42

Well done roulade. Stick with it and you'll see results on the scales soon! :)

reastie · 08/01/2013 18:28

Right, I'm back

Hair Grin

roulade soup is great - it's the way forward. I've managed 4 stone loss this last year and one of the ways I did it was by having soup for dinner every day. This thread has really helped me - I would have given up so much before now.

Well, first day back to work today after extended break as was signed off for MH issues pre christmas. Apparently rumours have been rife that I've been off as I'm pg (I was signed off last pg with sickness for pretty much the whole time). Even a teacher off work on maternity leave who hasn't even been in school for months somehow heard the news! People were saying to me 'is there anything you should tell us' and giving me lots of sympathetic smiles and wanting to chat to me Hmm . All very awkward but slightly funny at the same time hope my tummy isn't so fat that this is why they think I'm pg

MilkshakeMaker · 08/01/2013 18:38

Awww, I've just been looking back to the 1st thread, People have come so far!

I've managed another day well under cals and not sure where the motivation has come from but its like another wave has come over me and i'm feeling very positive, challenging myself to get to 11st.0 by valentines day so 6lb in just over 5 weeks.

Waiting for ds to go to bed and shall be back to actually join in on the convo!

SPBInDisguise · 08/01/2013 19:16

No, just a fast moving thread and I don't aways have time to catch up :o I'm ding well I think. feeling very motivated at the moment. Eating under calories and losing weight. I was this mornin to be the last tim I ever see an 11 at the start of the scales

laughalot · 08/01/2013 19:21

munchy box OMG that is all I can say !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/01/2013 19:32

Well done Milkshake and SPB.

Got my fingers crossed for you back at work reastie. Take it easy and you'll do fine.

Has a techy person managed to sort the spreadsheet yet?
