toomuch - tomatoes are allowed, but the point I was making is that taken altogether all the carby things you were eating could be adding up to quite a lot. You just need to be aware of that.
butterflies - if you're a daily weigher (and I am too) then you will know that the scales behave in mysterious ways. You can go for days with nothing happening, and then they will suddenly show a loss - or worse, a gain. If you're sure your carbs are low, you're eating enough fat and you're drinking your water, then you will lose weight. And we are only on day 4!
TooImmature - keep on keeping on
My very boozy week last week, with way, way too many carbs (damn MN meet ups!) had a real impact on the scales. I couldn't bring myself to weigh in on Monday morning, but by Tuesday I was showing 9 stone 12.5lbs, which I was
by. 3.5lbs up. But, today I'm down to 9 stone 10.75, so things are definitely moving in the right direction.
For me, this shows two things:
First, going off piste, whilst often thoroughly enjoyable, has a significant impact on weight.
Second, if you get back on the wagon immediately, it can be reversed pretty quickly (especially, I believe, once you are ketogenically adapted, i.e. your body has switched to fat-burning rather than carb-burning)
So if you are going to cheat, you need to be aware that you will not lose weight as quickly, and you could also put a significant of weight back on. Whilst you may lose it quite quickly, in effect it means you will have lost a week from your overall plan.
