Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Sorry... I should say afternoon ( too used to saying hello in the mornings!)

hazchem · 11/08/2012 14:15

TooImmature we are going to Australia. It's a home coming for me but a whole new life for OH and DS. Really hoping to look good when I arrive so I feel confident returning home.

Emma That's a bummer about the cream. I'm wondering if making a mixture of ground nuts, coconut oil and coco powder might be bootcamp lite friendly. I've made it with dried fruit instead of coconut oil and it was lush! Sadly have just sold my food processor so will be a while before I can try it.

teaandthorazine · 11/08/2012 14:41

Is it really possible that the mocha latte frappe I've just drunk has 95g of carb in it??? Fark me, that was a mistake and a half. It's so strange, I never usually drink those things but since I've been low carbing all I've craved is iced coffees... won't be doing that again though.

On the plus side, the coffee has worked wonders for my (ahem) 'digestive issues'...

I was planning to fast today as well! Am really interested in this intermittent fasting thing as I seem to find it quite easy to go long periods without eating. And now have buggered it all up with a drink. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

mummyduff · 11/08/2012 14:50

Just a quickie, been to tesco and got some Jamie Oliver classic bugers, they have virtually no carbs and taste lovely x

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 11/08/2012 16:17

Oh, it will be lovely to go home, Hazchem! Bet you look stunning by the time you leave.

Have planned a small cheat. cream teas, mmm I was reading a recipe looking for inspiration for DD's christening buffet and all the cakes/puddings looked so good!

ohforfoxsake · 11/08/2012 17:07

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 11/08/2012 18:07

sybilfaulty · 11/08/2012 19:16

Eyes, hope you are OK. Even if you binged, be strict with food tom and generous with water and it'll be fine. You'll see Smile

Will be out for special dinner with DH shortly to celebrate his new job. THe restaurant is reet fancy with a Michelin star and everything! Hope they have something suitable for me to eat.... have checked online but only have last week's menus! Fingers crossed.

Hope you are all well, suitable steeped in water / gin and looking forward to a pleasant night.

emmak86 · 11/08/2012 20:42

Just drink plenty tomorrow Grin x

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 11/08/2012 20:55

Thanks everyone. It is an elderly relative, he always always gets me upset, but this was the first time he had seen my beautiful house and it was too dark, quite cheap, needs a lot of work, etc etc. Just usually manage not to get wound up.

Have however managed to avoid the open bottle of wine which keeps whispering to me from the kitchen. DH is a foul mood and really winding me up. He had a smidge of a hangover this morning and has been out of sorts all day.

Going to pour myself a lemon tonic and pretend it has alcohol in it.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 11/08/2012 22:27

Poor you, Eyes, sounds grim.

Oh no, disaster! I ate my cream tea (mmm!) but then compounded the error by eating haggis for dinner. DH suggested making haggis lasagna, with neep layers and whisky cream sauce. Sounded good to me so he made it. I totally forgot that haggis has oatmeal in it until I started to eat. It's 15g of carbs per 100g, and there was heaps of haggis in my portion. There's also half a lasagna left. This wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had the scones earlier, but I really did intend to eat a proper low-carb dinner. I'm so cross with myself. Am drinking pints of water now.

emmak86 · 12/08/2012 08:41

Morning Smile

SharonGless · 12/08/2012 09:13

Emma what have you got in? Nice omelette? Yoghurt and fruit? Fry up?
Am just about to make a fry up for breakfast here. badvoc am so sorry to hear you are in pain with gallstones.Sad How are you feeling now? Have you managed to do any reading about it as I read a couple of other articles which all said that in the long run low carb high fat is better for gallstones. How long have you been on this woe now? Sending hugs
I don't go on Hols until 21st so with you until then and trying to lose last couple of pounds before I go

mummyduff · 12/08/2012 09:20

Eyes sorry you had a rubbish time, take notice of him, Im sure your house is fabSmile

Well I had 4 pimms and diet lemonades yesterday and not enough water, so slight headache today!!!

Having a bbq today so that should be fine x

Badvoc · 12/08/2012 09:26

Eggs...I have a a relative (by marriage) like that.
The first time she came to our new house she sat n the new sofa, felt it, sifted and said "such a shame to buy cheap leather"
:)
I actually just laugh now.
She is a pretty unhappy person and it shows in her dealings with others.
I am off to mils later so will have a full Sunday lunch!
Interestingly even with all my cheating I was still, slightly down weight wise yesterday....I am also finding that I am not going made when I cheat....interesting!

topsi · 12/08/2012 09:39

Hi I tried an Atkins choc bar yesterday, enjoyed it. What is the general consensus on Atkins stuff. I don't generally have a sweet tooth but tried one out of interest. I also enjoy very dark chocolate. The bar was 145 calories and cost £1.45!! The dark choc is less expensive and 2 squares are prob the same calories, I think the bar was 6 point something carb wise, not sure what the choc is.
The nice thing about the bar was that when it was gone that was it, however the dark choc comes in a big bar and the temptation is to go back for more!
240 calories for 4 squares, I know we are not counting calories but it must make a difference somewhere along the line??

clare8allthepies · 12/08/2012 09:40

Morning everyone!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, was glorious yesterday (which doesn't seem to happen very often here in the west of Scotland!) so we had a day at the seaside. I sooooo wanted fish and chips and ice cream but I restrained myself to a lick each of DP and DDs ice creams and they were lovely but very sickly.
Half a pound down yesterday so 6 pounds to go to the magic figure of 9 stones Smile

sybilfaulty · 12/08/2012 09:44

Hi everyone

My lovely dinner last night was GORGEOUS. Nearly OK on carbs, ate 1 parmesan cracker and 1 bite of bread. Bit too much wine though, so feeling it today. And very tired.

Topsi, I'm no expert but isn't the Atkins bar very processed? I'd also balk at paying £1.45 for it, when you can get a whole bar of G and B for not much more. I store mine in the fridge so I don't think about it very often and am not tempted by the whole thing!

Have a peaceful Sunday.

emmak86 · 12/08/2012 09:52

sharon nofry up for me today i forgot to defrost the bacon Sad
Im still bootcamping ( well trying to, so no fruit for meee) so in tye fridge ive got... Veg, eggs and cheese, ham!

topsi ive also tried the atkins dark chocolate indulgence bar.. Theyre tasty arent they. Im not sure hiw allowed they are myself but ive found if im out for the day and everyone else is having burger and chips ill pop to superdrug and pick me up an atkins bar! Better option i think x

teaandthorazine · 12/08/2012 10:03

Tbh I think the general consensus is that all those bars/shakes etc should be avoided if possible. They're very processed and full of artificial stuff. For a chocolate fix you're much better off going for G&B or my personal favourite, Divine 70% with raspberries - yum. Wrt calories, I don't take any notice of them really. Low carb isn't about counting calories - it's all about the insulin response, and I'd bet those bars will have an effect!

Am trying a bit of a fast today, after yesterday's mocha frappe sabotage Grin. I've not eaten anything since 7pm last night, so 15 hours so far. Plenty of water and herbal tea - feel pretty good!

sybilfaulty · 12/08/2012 10:42

Just fitted into my Orla Kiely Size 12 knitted dress! It needs some Spanx for my post baby tummy but otherwise looks OK!. Hurrah!

emmak86 · 12/08/2012 11:06

sybil woo! Well done Smile

tea just to make sure... Its better to eat dark choc on our diet than the atkins bars?

I presumed it wouldnt be allowed.. Bering in mind im still bootcamping really x
