I keep hearing about it and the reviews look great but ....

I am an out of shape size 16 , will it kill me ?

I can walk for hours but I wouldn't be able to run for longer than about a minute I reckon .

I have ordered the Nadia Sawallha dvd which looks a bit more doable for me , am I right ?

I have got to get fitter and I am on a mission

TIA

Level one is on youtube, why not try it there to see how you get on.

I like the shred because it doesnt require too much coordination and its only 30 secs of each bit so when you think you're dying the end is easily in sight!

I've not actually got furtherthan level one though as am too tight to buy the dvd, have just upped the weights and added in an extra round of cardio (I didn't really have weight to lose though, justa tiny bit around my middle- it was more that I wanted to up my fitness and tone up a bit.)

Thank you , I didn't even think to look on youtube , I am not sure how my aged laptop will cope with it but I will give it a go .

At least if it is too grim I won't have wasted any money .

I am expecting miracles from the Nadia one but it will take a few days to get here and I need to get off my arse and do something while I am feeling even slightly motivated .

I had noticeable results within a week with shred, after 3 weeks i'd lost 2 inches off my belly and 1.5 off my waist. My thighs were visibly more toned as were my upper arms. Then i had a few slack weeks and so am trying to get back to where I was by starting again today. It was hard work today but I know it gets easier very quickly.

I'm shredding at the moment, and loving it!! The DVD is £5 on Amazon. There's an easier adaptation of each exercise (where possible) at each level. Definitely try out level 1 on youtube. I'm a bit of a convert - and rubbish at all those dance based exercise DVDs. I have no coordination, and this is good for that. No nonsense and easy to follow!

Thank you , so within a month I will be all slim and marvellous ? Grin

I can dream !

As she says on the dvd, 'I have 400lb people doing this so so can you'.

It is tough but you work your way up through the levels, and it's only 20 mins per session for really good results. And as someone else said, cheap on Amazon.

Go for it.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 18:15

I have ordered it and if I die I will blame you lot Grin

Wish me luck !

I was size 18 nearly 12st so I found it extremely hard as I havent been fit since my early 20's so 20 years ago. I would recommend you do it in stages and not push yourself too hard as its painful and exhausting to start with.

If you set yourself a goal of 3 times a week for the first week just so your body gets used to it. Please do more stretching than she does, you need to warm up (do before vid) for 5 mins and do stretches holding for 15 secs on each only completed do more stretches holding for 45 secs. If you dont stretch properly you will be in pain and its of no benefit. I would recommend a swim inbetween to lossen the body and have a rest.

I found it repeatative and boring after a while so mixing vids would be a great idea. I find classes now suit me better.

Thanks bacon I have just done day one and I am still alive which is good .

It is bloody hard work so it had better be worth it .

I am going to aim for every other day as I know if I say every day and then miss a day I will give up , I need this to be a long term change so pushing too much early on will just put me off .
