For me, they tick all the boxes: tasty, filling, cheap, protein rich, low fat, easy to make.

What do you eat allmost every day when you're losing weight?

Fruit and Aldi fat free yoghurts every day during the week for lunch at work and yes to poached eggs for lunch at the weekend.

Plus the only thing I ever weigh is my cereal each morning - 1oz of Doves Farm corn flakes. It kind of sets my mind straight so that at least I'm starting each day off with good intentions...! Grin

whyme2 · 16/05/2012 12:34

Poached eggs, apples and bananas.

I even bought a little plastic egg poacher like this

latrucha · 16/05/2012 12:43

That's cute.

YY to apples, yoghurt and banana.

I eat too much cheese. Anything to replace that?

Eggs, eggs and more eggs

TheGreatScootini · 16/05/2012 12:48

Scrambled eggs for breakfast.Rice cakes.

latrucha · 16/05/2012 12:51

So I'm not alone then.

Bum.

Was hoping there was another magic food that I hadn't yet heard of. Hmm

Coddled eggs - with cheese. I love my cheese and can't give it up, so I now buy the strongest of strong cheddar and put a tsp of grated cheese in my egg coddler, all the taste and yummy meltiness in a tiny amount.

aftereight · 16/05/2012 12:53

Hummous, and spicy sweet potato soup.

amillionyears · 16/05/2012 12:54

soup, ice lollies.

  • Scrambled eggs (for breakfast, in lots of different guises)
  • tinned sardines - loads of protein, low calorie
  • wholemeal muffins - not too many more calories than bread, but feel like more of a treat
  • bananas - really filling. High calorie for fruit, but lots of bulk and a good vitamin/mineral whack for 100 calories.
peachypips · 16/05/2012 12:54

Vajazzler · 16/05/2012 13:02

When I want to lose a few pounds quickly I start my day with 25g porridge oats mixed with frozen fruit, one sweetener and water. I microwave it for 3 and a half minutes. I eat other fruits and drink hot water.

I don't need any more of my 'skinny porridge' as it is shite fills me up for the morning. It is only 2 ww pro points.

MsRinky · 16/05/2012 13:45

Cauliflower. I eat fields of the stuff. Raw, steamed, roasted, mashed, shredded into "rice"...

QueenStromba · 16/05/2012 13:48

Fried eggs, streaky bacon, butter, cream, mushrooms, spinach, cheese, more butter.

latrucha · 16/05/2012 13:49

Atkins?

Cauliflower? Really? I never eat cauliflower!

GhostOfAWasp · 16/05/2012 13:50

yy to eggs and soup. And apples.

teaandthorazine · 16/05/2012 13:52

Butter, eggs, cheese, pork crackling...

EmmalinaC · 16/05/2012 13:53

Ryvita 'sandwiches' filled with marmite and Philadelphia extra light. Mmmmmmmmmmm

whyme2 · 16/05/2012 14:07

Ryvita with either pilchards and thick slices of cucumber on top. Or laughing cow very low fat soft cheese (the triangles) with wafer thin ham and cucumber again on top. Delicious and low calorie but lots of crunching involved which makes me think I've eaten lots.

Also sometimes I make a really milky coffee with hot milk - about 60 calories but makes a good snack on it's own so I don't eat any rubbish instead.

nickiminja · 16/05/2012 14:14

massive mushroom and cherry tom omlettes with lime pickle...

crabsticks

fatlazymummy · 16/05/2012 15:07

I'm not that keen on eggs myself, though I do have the odd omelette.
My weight loss staples are -
porridge made with mixed dried fruit, skim milk powder and cinammon
Low fat greek yoghurt with tinned peaches and a drizzle of honey. Absolutely delicious.
Reduced fat cheeses - cheddar, halloumi, feta, cream cheese spread. All find their way into my gob.
Quite a few more, but these are the things I enjoy the most.

fatlazymummy · 16/05/2012 15:10

Plus, I love those sparkling flavoured waters. I don't drink alcohol so a glass of this feels like a little treat. Same with a florida orange juice.

IDismyname · 16/05/2012 15:11

Porridge.

Prawns.

But not together.

(Used to eat eggs all the time, but now allergic :( )
