Some of you have already weighed-in/reported your weight on last week's thread - apologies for the tardiness in setting up this new thread.

If you're new, you're very welcome. The rules of Bootcamp are here

Well - not that bad, mummy (although the cider is not good!)

You could have done an awful lot worse! (Although that is not me throwing down the gauntlet!)

Thanks LoopingLizard! But please know this - this is as much for my benefit as it is for anyone else's.

mummyduff · 07/05/2012 19:02

Thanks BIWI, best thing is didnt even enjoy the cider and don't worry am back on the straight and narrow now.
Gym 1st thing tomorrow to burn off my sins x

BIWItheBold · 07/05/2012 19:06

Mind you, I didn't ask you how many pints you drank ... Grin

OP posts:
mummyduff · 07/05/2012 19:08

Grin only the one honest Miss x

OliviaLMumsnet · 07/05/2012 19:40

I haven't DRUNK anything Miss.

I have 4 events coming up
12 May - likely to be quite boozy - wine is REALLY bad isn't it? Will have to be v good all week in prep for it?

17 May - will have one glass of something fizzy to celebrate with friends

Jubilee nonsense (may not drink at all this w/e if I can get away with it)

Problem is, slightly apply tummy + not drinking = rumours where I live...Grin

Must be slimmer by 16 June

ANTagony · 07/05/2012 20:26

Oops posted on wrong thread.

I'm starting week 4 at 15st5

DH is 16st5.

BIWItheBold · 07/05/2012 20:30

Dry white wine or red wine is not so bad - it just depends on how many bottles much you're drinking! Vodka and soda is the best thing - it's zero carbs.

However, it's not just the carbs that are the problem. Alcohol is the easiest source of fuel for the body to burn, so if you're drinking, you will be burning that rather than any fat.

You could always try the 'I'm on antibiotics and the doctor has told me that I can't drink' nonsense line.

OP posts:
SharonGless · 07/05/2012 20:44

Everyone will assume Olivia is pregnant. Can't you come out with a half truth - trying to cut down on the drinking.

Or how about you are in training for some sporting event?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/05/2012 21:01

Evening. I start this thread 7 pounds down at bang on 10st.

Am really pleased because I had stalled for two weeks.

BIWItheBold · 07/05/2012 21:33

Brilliant, pistey!

Good sloshing.

OP posts:
ohforfoxsake · 07/05/2012 21:35

That happens to me Sharongless - I see them eyeing up my belly, thinking "no 5?".

I say "Its because I'm fat". Wink

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/05/2012 21:45

Thanks lovely BIWI

SharonGless · 07/05/2012 22:06

OFFS - me too. I find it better to be up front
Although as I am tall have always been called " the big one" eg can the "big bridesmaid" just move over to the right.

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 07/05/2012 22:19

Evening all,
I posted on the other thread but here it is again -
Last week - 11.3, this week - 10.10.6

... and another mention for Mr Spam who has lost a whole stone (git).

SharonGless · 08/05/2012 06:02

As I suspected no movement on scales at 12st 8lbs but clothes are a lot looser. I need another hole in my belt for work trousers yippee!

Jacaqueen · 08/05/2012 07:58

Didn't see this yesterday.

Starting week 4 at 13st 10lbs

15lbs downafter 3 weeks.

mummyduff · 08/05/2012 08:20

Fantastic Jacaqueen x

vnmum · 08/05/2012 08:21

forgot to WI yesterday so starting the week at 10st 2 which is a STS again for me. It is TOM though so not taking this weeks weight too seriously

doradoo · 08/05/2012 08:42

Starting week 4 at 81.7kg - which is no loss and may be a small gain...

BUT have been very bad over the weekend - visitors and DSs birthday so lots (and lots) of wine consumed, oh and biscuits and birthday cake so to still be under 82kg is an achievement for me.

One wierd thing was that I had a very bad sneezy/wheezy reaction on Saturday night - after I'd had cake/biscuits - can wheat allergy present in that way?

All fine now - visitors departed and back on the straight and narrow.

mummyduff · 08/05/2012 13:27

Afternoon all, its warm and sunny here Grin

I was up early, after yet another bad night with DS2, and went to the gym.

However really need to go shopping:
Breakfast was left over pork
Lunch was tuna salad
Dinner - whatever I buy at shopping Smile

survivingspring · 08/05/2012 13:57

Starting week 2 at 9st 7

Lost 4 lb last week - would be lovely to do the same this week!

That's very useful info about alcohol BIWI - didn't realise the body did that. My book says alcohol is unlimited so have been rather taking that at its word [hic] Hmm

BIWItheBold · 08/05/2012 14:38

Blimey, which book is that, survivingspring?!

But no alcohol is a rule of Bootcamp!

OP posts:
survivingspring · 08/05/2012 14:52

It's The New High Protein Healthy Fast Food Diet by Charles and Maureen Clark.

I will observe from now on!! Did think it was slightly bizarre Smile

BerylStreep · 08/05/2012 17:04

Hi all,
Unfortunately I am up this week. Was DS birthday, and I had 2 teeny sandwiches, a rice krispie bun and a top hat. I resisted cake (all 3 of his cakes!), but boy have I paid. I have put on 2 kilos, yes, 2 kilos, in 2 days. On Saturday I felt awful, really fatigued, like I was wading through treacle.

So, I am 89.4kg today, up from 87.4 on Friday (grrrr), although I have to remind myself I am 6.6kg down from the start of the year.

I ordered the John Briffa book, which I am enjoying reading. Hopefully it will give me a bit more of a push.

heartstart · 08/05/2012 17:19

Hi this is my first weigh in am down 3lbs which I am v v happy with after weekend away
