Virtual Gastric Band Hypnosis App?!

I've just seen this in the Apple App Store - does anybody know anything about it or tried it? It seems to have good reviews but its not cheap a £7.49!

itunes.apple.com/gb/app/virtual-gastric-band-hypnosis/id504835984?mt=8

I need something to control snacking (eating DDs leftovers in particular) and my portions - which are huge. I also need inspiration to lost about a stone in 7 weeks for a wedding in June, for which I need to fit into a dress I last wore 6 years and 2 DCs ago.
Any thoughts? Shall I give it a go?

Are you going to keep going Knock?

Many years ago, when it first came out, I did the Paul McKenna one for 2 weeks and lost 9lbs before a holiday, I didn't take it up again after the holiday, unfortunately. I followed the instructions and found myself walking really quickly everywhere even when I wasn't in a hurry.

I lent the book and cd out and haven't seen them since. I didn't want to re-buy.

I'm not sure of my weight, I was on and off the scales at the swimming before anyone saw. I think it came to about 2lbs off 13st. So 12.12. I need to be 10 to have the top end of healthy BMI. I'll hover on the scales a little longer next week.

luckyme123 · 04/09/2012 14:58

Dappyhays - I've lost 2stone 10lbs with this now and it's brilliant. Been doing for nearly 3 months. Best weight loss programme I've followed and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Knock - Have you joined the support group on Facebook. If you join you can ask James and Sue questions and they get back to really quick with the answer and there's loads of other people using the app giving advice and swapping ideas. I log on there everyday and i love it.

I don't feel like I'll be overweight ever again now I've done this and I never could say that about any diet I've done before.

DappyHays · 04/09/2012 15:33

That's brilliant luckyme

I've listened to the stage one 3 times now, though once was at bedtime last night and I just fell asleep.

KnockKnockPenny · 06/09/2012 18:35

Yes Im on the FB group, you have probably seen me moaning about my lack of results! Im 2 qnd a half weeks in now and have gained 2lbs. Not sure how long to keep going!

BerylStreep · 07/09/2012 09:57

Ladies,
Do you mind if I join you? I downloaded the app yesterday after seeing your thread. I really need to sort myself out wrt weight. I have a good 2 stone to lose.

I listened to the first session yesterday, and found it quite relaxing. Already I think I have been drinking more water, and I have been taking photos of my meals (although haven't worked out how to load them on to the app).

DappyHays · 07/09/2012 10:06

Hi Beryl. I started on Monday, weigh in on Sunday. I've been drinking lots of water, avoiding the office sweets and having smaller meals. A couple of times, due to not being hungry I've picked at stuff in the kitchen rather than have a dinner.

I've not 100% mastered eating only low fat things or stopping when I'm full though.

Even if I haven't lost much weight, my skin is thanking me for the amount of red wine I'm not drinking and the amount of water being consumed instead.

I'm lucky, my freezer has a built in ice machine and filtered water dispenser.

Has anyone noticed they actually feel very thirsty quite often during the day? It's making me crave water rather than think "oh my diet says I need to drink loads so here I go".

mistressploppy · 10/09/2012 13:58

Reading with interest - DH and I have just signed up for 4 sessions of virtual gastric band hypnosis with a real life hypnotist lady. I didn't know there was an app

So far we have just done the consultation and initial brief advice session; so we are avoiding too many carbs and trying to notice our moods when we eat/have eaten. The session with the actual band stuff comes later.

We can do a comparison! It costs a fucking fortune so I shall be MOST put out if everyone on the £5.99 app does better than me!

Can someone link to the fb support group or do you have to be invited?

lifesabreeze4me · 10/09/2012 16:45

Help! Does anyone know how to get on the FB support group for the app? is it members only does anyone know?

DappyHays · 10/09/2012 19:59

Do a search on easyloss gastric band In Facebook and take it from there

BerylStreep · 10/09/2012 20:38

Hi Dappy, I have also noticed being really thirsty. I am definitely eating substantially smaller portions, but need to get the snacking under control Blush.

I do feel quite relaxed during the sessions. I even went out and got an iPhone to listen to them on!

lifesabreeze4me · 10/09/2012 21:08

Found it, thanks DappyDays :)

BerylStreep · 14/09/2012 20:25

How is everyone getting on?

I'm a week in, and I don't know that there is much progress on the scales. I am definitely eating smaller portions - I can hardly manage my evening meal I feel so full, but I am doing a lot of snacking, and eating wheat which I am pretty sure I am intolerant to.

luckyme123 · 27/09/2012 22:38

Has anyone else updated to version 2? I think it came out today from what I've seen on the facebook group. It's got so much stuff on it now. Even though I've done session 3 and I've lost 2 and a half stone up til now I think I'm going to go back and start from the beginning again as there's extra stuff on everyday now. I've still got a stone to get rid of. Has anyone else started again after getting to session 3? Did it go OK?

Sizzlesaz · 01/10/2012 11:31

Hiya guys,
Hope I can join in on here. I just found this app this morning and am going to listen to it soon, hopefully I'll manage to stay awake. I have around 2 stone to lose and am hoping to see as good a results as some of you on here have had Smile

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 01/10/2012 13:22

Hello

I've upgraded my app. Tbh I find it more irritating as you have to choose the day you're on to get your hypnosis session and it takes longer to get there. There are two sessions each day now, in addition to the existing one, there's a nighttime one, I'm not sure what the difference is as I usually sleep through both.

There also tips every day which are tips from the 100 tips book. There are three videos, i've only seen two. It's the hypnotist giving some encouragement and repetition of the tips.

So there is a lot there and perhaps some people need all the extra repetition but I was happy with it before. I would like to know a bit more about how it works and the differences between the stages. I have lost 6lb in two weeks through using the app and just cutting down. I'm wondering if I need / want to go to stage three as I'm doing so well now.

Sizzles people aren't visiting this thread much now so I've been hanging out virtually on the no excuses thread, if you would like to join us it's full of lovely supportive people.

Bertvde · 02/10/2012 15:09

Hi all,

Yesterday I found this website and instantly bought the app. I listened to it yesterday night for the first time and managed to stay awake.

I know this is called Mumsnet, but maybe any of your husbands/male friends might have tried this. I'm a 26 year old man, aiming to loose about 2 st. Are there any men who have tried this application? What are the results?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

BerylStreep · 03/10/2012 17:15

Well I like version 2 - I like the water bit - which reminds me, I need to drink water ? Smile

lifesabreeze4me · 04/10/2012 14:07

Have had the app for about a year ,but never stuck with it ,I could never find the time to listen to it on a regular basis .....and it never occurred to me to listen to it before bed ...duh!
Really, really inspired by your efforts and will retry it ,I can't face another " muffin top" summer
Would love to join the group x

somerandom · 13/05/2013 19:27

Hi All - I've been using this app for a year now - used to post a lot but went over to the Easyloss FB group. The app has worked so well for me - I lost over 2 1/2 stone and have kept it off for 7 months. Is there anyone still around from last year? How is it going for you linkainka & Frenchtart? The FB group is a very good source of support and there's lots of motivating success stories.

I feel like I've taken a trip down memory lane ....
