Ah I was going to say mugshots til you described them as vile! Have you tried the roast chicken one? I think it's actually quite nice (if you let it stand long enough).

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/04/2012 10:35

Sorry, yes Ds is ok thanks. High temp and couldn't sleep but he's better now.

How many syns for the quorn ones?

debka Mug shots aren't great are they! That's my food tonight at work! You could take a stash of fruit, carrots, tomatoes, packets of ainsley couscous, canned tuna, sardines, mugshots, bread rolls, ryvita and maybe pick up some phili or cheese ttc each day?

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/04/2012 10:38

Damn auto correct should say etc, not ttc obvs! Grin

pixiestix · 01/04/2012 11:06

Sorry to have been quiet this week. I have a lot going on at the moment so am taking a bit of a DoD'er break but will still pop in every now and then to say hi.

Stay slim and focussed y'all Grin

Huffpot · 01/04/2012 11:07

Oh Debka you're very focussed. Have you always kept your syns so low?

I have to say I dont loathe the mug shots - they're good to fill a hole
Cous cous is a good idea - I think some of the Tesco's own brands are lower in syns than the Ainsley Harriot ones too

We're just back from mass with DC's after some of the old ones glaring at us the whole mass for daring to bring children along sigh
The 11.30 mass is rubbish as its their lunch time and the evening one is no good as its their bedtime. So annoying and they're so well behaved through it for 1 and 2 year olds

Food for today
Early breakfast: apple, banana and muller light then a pita with salad and turkey and a cuppa
Lunch: Baked bean curry and rice
Dinner: grilled chicken breast marinated in soy sauce and garlic with mash and veg I think

Happy Sunday

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 01/04/2012 11:24

Debka can you get the tins of tuna that a no drain and add to a bag of salad as other suggested? Or i would have a cooked eg grilled SW friendly breakfast at the hotel and have fruit/ryvita/aplin lites etc for lunch and slurp some cuppa soups to keep you warm if its chilly?

slept in and never got to run as dh was leaving early to go to scotland and watch celtic match, so taking kids on a big nature walk today with sil.
Im aiming high this week and want to lose 5lb to be under 13st i know i can do it if im really strict with myself. I know its not the best way to do things but i know it will give me a great boost and make me want to stick to it even more (ps this is the longest i have stuck to a diet ever as i normally give up and lose then gain the same 7-8lbs).

B - porridge and banana HA and HB
L- Scrambled egg and beans
D - Chicken wrapped in smokey bacon, new pots and other veggies.

Snacks if i want them fruit and muller lights (these are 58p each or 5 for a £1 in morrisons at the min think it finnishes today).

enjoy your sunday folks.

Rianoceros · 01/04/2012 14:33

been shopping as DH is joining me this week after our friend poked fun at his waistline

does anyone have a low-syn/syn free kedgeree recipe please?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/04/2012 20:45

I don't, have you tried minimins or just googling one? I couldn't find one in my SW books either, sorry.

pixie everything alright matey?

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/04/2012 21:08

I posted one for you in Jan ria - was it no good?
Here it is again in case you'd just forgotten/missed it!

Right, lentil & egg kedgeree....

1 large onion, peeled & chopped
2 tsp mild curry powder
250g basmati rice
50g red or yellow split lentils
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
650ml chicken stock
salt/pepper
8 large eggs
chopped coriander to garnish

spray large fry pan with frylight.
high heat, add onion. stir fry 2-3mins then add curry powder, rice, lentils, bay leaf + cinnamon stick. stir and fry for 1-2 mins
pour in stock, season, bring to boil.
cover tightly, reduce heat + cook gently for 15 mins. remove from heat and let it stand undisturbed for 10-12 mins.
whilst standing, boil eggs to your liking. shell and halve and set aside.
remove lid from rice, fluff up with fork and spoon into 4 bowls/plates. top each serving with 4 egg halves. sprinkle over chopped coriander and serve immediately.

That is free on green or EE, though you obv need to have some superfree with it.
If you want it with fish too, just cook a bit in the microwave or oven, and add to the kedgeree for the standing stage.

debka · 01/04/2012 22:06

Evening all,

Thanks everyone for great ideas for our time away. It won't be much of a break, more work really, with in-laws (not a good combination, they're grim). Hey ho. No chance of a trip to the shops for salad etc, but I can have a good breakfast and dinner and takes lots of superfree fruit

huffpot I normally have 10-15 a day but I gained 3lb last week Blush due to being a greedy pig, and want to lose that AND another 3lb (6 in total) to get my 5st award before I see my PiLs!

girders I totally get it about big effort, that;s what I'm doing this week too.

Happy Monday tomorrow everyone Grin

Rianoceros · 01/04/2012 22:21

thanks again CSWS, I remembered about it after I'd posted the question and had a look through the old thread to find it. Whether I can be arsed to make it for DH's breakfast tomorrow is a whole other issue.

went to the first car boot sale of the season todayGrin. It appeals to my nosey streak! And I got DS3 a bargainous new bigger ready bed for when we are at my parents caravan in the summer if DH is there too (DS3 usually sleeps with me because DH doesn't get chance to be there that often). DS1 was v chuffed to unearth a Dad's Army annual from 1975!!! I have promised DH I won't go every weekWink. (Am building up to do a sale myself, but every time I sort some stuff out one of the boys starts playing with it and moves it again, but last time I did one I think we bought as much as we soldBlush). Spent the afternoon gardening and ironing, so quite a reasonable SundaySmile

hope you can enjoy your break debka. will you be able to get online to vent keep in touch?

looking forward to the new week for once. two weeks off pretending to iron school uniformGrin.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/04/2012 06:50

Would you like to take some of my stuff to sell ria? I have loads but am too lazy to get up so early.

debka you are doing so well - your PIL will have to be impressed. Smile

Busy day at work ahead. I failed to get up with my 6am alarm for a run because I realised the park wouldn't be open. I need to think up an early morning route.

Food:

D: pasta marinara with sugar snap peas.

Have a lovely day everyone. I can't believe it's Monday morning again.

kid · 02/04/2012 14:57

I've survived DS's birthday party. Took a group of 10 to a laser place and then to mcdonalds afterwards.
We're now home and have 4 kids here until 4 and then it will be down to 2 kids (my own)

I am always so tired. I get up about 8am but I keep falling asleep during the day too. I didn't go to bed until nearly 1am but i thought that would be enough sleep for me? DH is always saying I sleep too much and u should go and see the Dr, but I can't be bothered as the last time I went, they just ignored me anyway.

SlinkyB · 02/04/2012 20:27

Hey all, just dropping in to say thanks for reminding me about Race for Life - have entered the Swindon one which is on June 10th. Figured it would be an incentive to get fit, so have arranged to do it with a local friend and we're going to train in the evenings. Was meant to start tonight, but am full of cold (thanks ds) so have postponed until tomorrow night. Am no good at running, so it'll be more of a power-walk/jog, but it's a start. Think I found a wedding dress I like too, but don't like my tummy in it! So even more incentive to tone up.

I'm always tired too kid, I've always needed lots of sleep though so don't think there's anything wrong with me. I usually sleep around 10.30 - 7, but grab an afternoon nap at any given opportunity too!

Am impressed with all you determined lot, keep up the good work and will look forward to a fab list on Weds Smile

SlinkyB · 02/04/2012 20:29

P.s Lumpy is rather notable in her absence, hope she's OK and still calorie counting away.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/04/2012 21:54

Oi link a pic of the dress then slinky. Is it, urrrr, slinky? Grin I'm also training for race for life, did week 2 run 2 today. It went OK, though I had a killer stitch by the end.

Glad ds party went well kid. Happy birthday to him!

debka · 02/04/2012 22:07

Still being ridiculously good. Haven't been able to run for nearly a week now though, bloody hip playing up Angry

How many hours a night do you get kid? I need at least 7-8, any less and I start getting weary. Plus after DD2 started sleeping though it took me a good few weeks to work through my sleep 'debt' as it were. Could you be anaemic too? That can make you very tired. Well done on survivng the birthday though :)

slinky oooo yes pics please Grin

Hedgepig · 02/04/2012 22:12

Evening all. A linky to the dress wouuld be lovely slinky , you could always try some of that magic underwear type thing if you need a bit more "support"around the tum

I am well impressed with myself, the lady that runs the excercise class I go to on Monday's is on maternity leave so a few of us from the class met to go for a run, we did 3.6 miles with only a few stops for a walk I am gob smacked I got that far. I ache all over and had a chocolate mini roll to celebrate :-). it is much nicer running with other people than doing it yourself

kid · 02/04/2012 22:43

Running with other people is great as you keep eachother going. I've only ever run with my lazy kids who are no support at all. They give up and just watch me run around the park. I really wish I had a proper running partner who is just as unfit as me!

When I'm at work, I usually get 6-7 hours sleep a night and don't nap in the evenings.
I'm on holiday now and I'm getting between 8-9 hours but I am still falling asleep during the afternoon/early evening. I wonder if its because I am sitting about a bit more? I fell asleep sitting up earlier and ended up with a dead hand as I was resting my head on it.

I'd love to see a link for the dress too.

SlinkyB · 03/04/2012 08:16

Me? Do a link? But that would mean switching the laptop on Grin. Tell ya wot, I'll do one later on the fb group OK? As am paranoid aware dp could see it on here. Have decided I don't like wedding dress shopping - they all look the same to me! And am not one for wanting to look/feel like a 'princess' for the day (fair enough if you do). Cheers for the spanx idea hedge - am meeting a mate in town tomorrow, so will pop to m&s to look for an equivalent (or some huge control pants - sexy!).

Am gutted that I didn't make the inaugural run last night, was SO up for it, but am full of cold and my poor body just screamed 'hotchocolateandbedplease!'.
You're all right about having a running buddy, and she's lovely too (although slender and athletic, so will make me look even more like a fairy elephant around the park). Am sure she's gonna leave me standing, ah well.

Am impressed with your 3.6 miles hedge, and your continued saintlyness debka!

My first official week of p/t hrs this week, so have just waved ds and dp off, as he's going to nursery for the morning whilst I do the housework in peace. Well, that's what I told dp Grin. Will have every Tuesday And Wednesday off from now on, yippee. Had really bad day there yesterday, ended up crying my eyes out in the toilets and couldn't stop, very embarrassing. Put it down to hormones+feeling ill, but the heartless robots I have the misfortune of working with didn't help matters.

Have a good day all

mimisays · 03/04/2012 09:19

Hello, is there room for one more?

I think I posted once a couple of weeks ago, but I got sidetracked with some horrible news. I have been sticking to it loosely, but decided to really make a serious go this time.

I am 15 stone 10, it was a huge shock when I stood on the scales - I am a comfortable size 16, which is baffling to me when I weigh so much. I wonder what size I could be at my target of 9 stone 5? Even at my smallest I was a size 12, yet considered 'overweight' so I am finally realising, actually no, I don't have a curvy frame - I probably have a very petite frame under all this fat! I am only 23 so I am making the change this year, for the rest of my life.

I will be doing all Green Days, as I'm a vegetarian. And I am doing it from home Smile

Is it ok for me to join your thread?

Mimi

SlinkyB · 03/04/2012 11:21

Hey mimi - always room for one more - welcome! I too am always baffled by my weight, I figure we're just heavy-boned?! How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 5ft 7" so seem to 'carry' weight fairly easily without people noticing but my jeans always do. I was a 16ish before starting SW on here (only did it from home too) and am now a 14ish. Would love to be a size 12, but I've had a baby, am 30, and haven't been a size 12 since my late teens. I think you have to be sensible and realistic, and happy with your target, whatever that might be.

If you're only just starting, it's a good idea to take your measurements too - others on here have done it and it's great to see your loss in inches as well as pounds.
