Welcome to all those who left me alone on the old thread. May this one be more fruitful!

My WI today, I lost .2 kilos so basically stayed the same. A bit disappointed as I worked very hard, but at least I didn't gain. Still 10st 5.

We went shopping today and I bought slim fit jeans for the first time ever, and a dress!

Well done eveyone! And happy birthday to your DS obviously.

12' 5 this morning so have lost 4lbs! (I'm 6' tall) Even with roast chicken yesterday although I did have cauli mask instead of roasties. I'm expecting to lose 2lb this week, the first week of a high protein/low carb diet always works well for me and gives me the motivation to stick at it. It makes me laugh because I spent 20 years as a veggie and only started to eat meat when I was severely anaemic with DC2.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 29/01/2012 12:37

Everyone's doing so well. Official weigh-in today puts me back up to 10st 5, so the 2lbs I'd lost earlier in the week has crept back on.
Apart from a Burns Night supper on Friday when wine was consumed, I don't think I've been too bad.
I do know one other reason why I don't seem to be losing weight really, and I won't go into it here ahem but suffice to say I'm ordering a copy of the F-plan diet today.

casawasa · 29/01/2012 13:08

Can i join in too please. I've lost 2lbs this week but i really need to keep it up! I've cut down on carbs, i'm having smaller portions and as little wine as i can cope with.
I do have a bottle of bubbly in the fridge as dp is back tonight after a business trip so might not weigh myself tomorrow :)
I like the idea of the cauli mash. I will def try that this week.

mrsbossyboots · 29/01/2012 14:50

Shotgun make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids (alcohol does not count unfortunately!).

ObviouslyOblivious · 29/01/2012 23:12

Thanks everyone, I've eaten faaaar too much cake today! Tomorrow is a new day and a new week. Don't fall off the wagon now

Well done if you've lost! Pull your socks up if you haven't :o

How's this week going for everyone?

Getting carb urges because of the cols weather I think but have resisted so far apart from a piece of toast with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for dinner.

Tooblunt2012 · 31/01/2012 22:24

Well done for resisting. I do Slimming World so never really crave food as you can have what you want re carbs but it's good to feel in control. I've been on plan this week & have my weigh in tomorrow, so hoping to have lost at least 1 1/2lb. Will be gutted if I haven't!

Tooblunt2012 · 31/01/2012 22:25

Should also say I've made a big pot of vegetable soup for tomorrows lunch / dinner so will hopefully remain on track for a good week Grin

mrsbossyboots · 31/01/2012 22:59

Good luck for the weigh in tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

Making soup ahead is an excellent plan. I made a big pan of pea soup on Sunday thinking it would last for a few lunches but D Niece turned up with her DP on Sunday afternoon and it all went in one meal! (Shouldn't complain, it was really nice to see them). Never have time during the week so it's been back supermarket soups. I've particularly enjoyed New Covent Garden butternut squash and bacon so far. $

Question to the panel, does anyone actually only eat half a carton or even half a can of soup? The nutritional info is always per serving ie half a carton. I eat the lot and so does everyone I know! Maybe we're just gluttons?!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 31/01/2012 23:09

Covent Garden green lentil and ham is nice. I don't usually eat soup from a carton as it gives me indigestion, but I'm fine after that one.
We had a bean and meatball soup tonight. I wasn't sure the DCs would eat it, but they tucked in. I left out the meat and had extra beans.
Had home-made green lentil and veg on Sunday as well - get me with the soups!
I got to the gym yesterday, so felt pathetically proud - I'm just trying not to panic and dwell on the fact I gained last week, in spite of a good start.

Must press on regardless.

mrsbossyboots · 31/01/2012 23:24

Green lentil and ham sounds good, I'll look out for it.

Try not to be fed up shotgun. You've managed to lose weight before, I'm guessing there were weeks like last week when you were really careful and somehow put weight on and then other weeks when you were quite relaxed about what you ate and didn't gain (you and me at Christmas). It's the overall trend that matters and actually more importantly it's about ensuring we are fit and healthy and your gym session will contribute to that!

Tooblunt2012 · 31/01/2012 23:36

You will get there Shotgun, try not to get too down about it & if you have another good week then you'll see results.

Re soups - I always eat the whole tin & don't know anyone who doesn't Grin. With Slimming World however, you can't really have soup from cans as there are too many syns (which I'd rather use for wine!) so I tend to make my own.

ObviouslyOblivious · 31/01/2012 23:39

I eat half a carton of CG soups now I always used I eat te while lot but when I started WW I decided to try the half carton and was pleasantly surprised at how full I felt.

Tooblunt2012 · 01/02/2012 00:03

What are CG soups? Off to bed now, so have a good day tomorrow all.

mrsbossyboots · 01/02/2012 07:25

CG = New Covent Garden soup

Tooblunt2012 · 01/02/2012 12:03

I haven't tried those soups! Likely too many syns for SW so probably won't try them either until I'm at my target weight.

I lost 3lb this week at my weigh in this morning, so very pleased with that. Plan to have another good week this week Grin. Would love to lose another 2 for next week as that would mean I've lost over 2 stone since having DC3 last May.

mrsbossyboots · 01/02/2012 18:36

Double what you hoped to lose, well done tooblunt!

What are syns?

Tooblunt2012 · 01/02/2012 21:11

Thanks mrs. I had been good all week & no alcohol, so was very pleased to get a result.

Syns are Slimming World version of Weight Watchers points - you're allowed a certain amount per day for things like chocolate, sweets, alcohol etc.

LuckyC · 02/02/2012 15:43

Hi all

12 stone, so back to what I was before Xmas. Now off on hols, back end of Feb, see you then Grin

Tooblunt2012 · 02/02/2012 18:31

Have a great holiday Lucky. Grin

casawasa · 04/02/2012 09:47

I am stuck at home with ds, weather is awful and dp is off enjoying a weekend at the rugby. I need a tasty low carb recipe for tonight otherwise i will cook a pan of mashed potatoes and drink a bottle of wine!
Help! Any suggestions?

ObviouslyOblivious · 04/02/2012 10:36

Stir fry? Something with egg?

OP posts:
Tooblunt2012 · 04/02/2012 14:11

There are loads of lovely curry recipes on the slimming world website if you like that? Otherwise cook up a lovely vegetable soup given the weather outside! I'm actually going to do both later so that we have soup for tomorrow.

ObviouslyOblivious · 04/02/2012 19:53

I'm dreading my WI tomorrow, it's been a bad week :(

ObviouslyOblivious · 05/02/2012 09:03
