Welcome to all those who left me alone on the old thread. May this one be more fruitful!

My WI today, I lost .2 kilos so basically stayed the same. A bit disappointed as I worked very hard, but at least I didn't gain. Still 10st 5.

We went shopping today and I bought slim fit jeans for the first time ever, and a dress!

Sorry, the above should read "welcome to all those who joined me on the old thread after everyone else buggered off!"

Diet and be merry!

I have also taken the sellophane off my Shred DVD.

(2nd copy, DS2 scratched the first one, about 6 months ago Blush)

My trainers are in the sitting room and my yoga mat and weights are out from the blackhole cupboard under the stairs. Alarm clock is set for 6am.

catinboots · 22/01/2012 19:54

Hey Ben10!

My mum swears by WW. Done it on and off her whole life with good results! My best friend has lost 4st in 2yrs and kept it off with WW!

I find low carb works better for me, so trying to low carb/low cal to shift this weight......

ObviouslyOblivious · 22/01/2012 20:09

I'm doing weightwatchers online (loving the iPhone app!) and so far I've lost 16 kilos. Still got 5 more to go until my first goal post, then I'll probably keep going for now. Fantastic to see you all!

I lost 8lb at the begiining of the month doing the Jason Vale 7 day juice diet.

Now low carbing but still trying to do juice for one meal a day..

catinboots · 23/01/2012 08:44

Just had tomatoes on dry toast for breakfast.

Now drinking hot water and lemon.

ObviouslyOblivious · 23/01/2012 09:07

I had porridge with skimmed milk, and a cup of tea with 1% milk

mrsbossyboots · 23/01/2012 13:35

Can I join in please?

I lost nearly a stone and a half last year (low carb, my fitness pay) but have had a self destructive Jan (I only put 1 lb on over Christmas so can't even blame that!). I now need to lose 8 lbs to get to my target weight and have strugged to get motivated. But I'm starting again today so here goes...

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, activia fat free yogurt and fruit tea.

Lunch: home made celery soup and an apple.

I've also had a two cups of fruit tea and a cup of normal tea.

catinboots · 23/01/2012 13:46

Hello bossy! I hope you will be bossy with us.

I am starving today. It's psychological I'm sure.

Just had half a cheese sandwich, a small tuna salad and a cup-a-soup. Not a good start.

My Fitness Pal says is 521 calories so far.

It was bad planning today - I didn't make anything to bring with me to work.

ObviouslyOblivious · 23/01/2012 13:56

Hi Bossy! :) DS and I are about to have baked potatoes for lunch. He eats more than I do now! (He's twelve months!)

Have either of you used weightwatchers? I really like the way that it's reeducating me about portion sizes and helps me think about dinner so that I can plan the day around it IYSWIM.

mrsbossyboots · 23/01/2012 14:28

Never tried WW had a quick look at their website but as cash is tight decided to keep to my fitness pal!

I lost weight last year by keeping my intake to about 1200 cals per day focusing on higher protein and lower carbs (tried the high protein/no carbs and although I lost 5 lbs in a week, felt awful!). I power walked twice a week (sometimes 3) and was generally "in the zone"! I just need to get back in it again.

Obviously, you're right about portion size thanks for reminding me. I used to weigh my porridge oats out for breakfast so that I ate the right amount but lately have just been pouring them out; I know that I was making too much but still ate it! Back to the kitchen scales too.

mrsbossyboots · 23/01/2012 18:09

Yum I had tuna salad for tea and DH & DCs had lasagna.

How do we track weight? Do you have weekly weigh in?

ObviouslyOblivious · 23/01/2012 21:20

We didn't have an organised weigh in on't old thread. Would you like one? Could I suggest Sunday (it's my WW day)?

OP posts:
ijustwanttobeme · 23/01/2012 21:40

Can I join in too please?

Am 5' and weigh 9 st 7lbs.

Ideally would like to lose 1st 7lbs.

Have joined Slimming World, but can't get to grips with being able to eat so much pasta, rice and potatoes on green days.

ijustwanttobeme · 23/01/2012 21:42

Aah, just reread title.

Obv won't be able to sensibly lose 1.5 stone by mid Feb- can I still join in though?

catinboots · 23/01/2012 21:44

Studying tonight and resisting the call of the fridge wine bottle

Had cod and sald for supper. Tummy feels empty though so going to bed in a minute Sad

I tried SW for a while last year. I lost about 6lbs in the first fortnight then the weight loss completley stopped. FWIW, I have no appetitie control whatsoever so that's probably why. I also think it works better for people who have a larger amount of weight to lose, and are used to eating a large volume of the wrong sort of food.

Correct me if I'm wrong Smile

Sunday weigh in sounds good to me Grin

mrsbossyboots · 23/01/2012 21:49

Sunday suits me. It will stop me being good all week and then splurging at the weekend.

ObviouslyOblivious · 23/01/2012 21:56

Well Ijustwanttobeme the title comes from a previous, now defunct thread. So why doesn't everyone state their goal date and then we can go from there?
I still have a target which is to lose as much as I can by return to work (23rd February), but I'll be going on past that.

Oooo.....I'd like to join too please......

Was on a thread before Christmas but then a couple of weeks away, illness and injuries put paid to the diet and exercise. Put back on what I'd lost and today at 10st 2. Really want to start back up and now Christmas and family birthdays out of the way I've no excuses......

So here goes.....I would like to be a stone lighter by the beginning of march. (that'll mean I'm the same weight I was 10 years and 3 children ago!)

I would like to lose a bit more and be 9st or under for the summer and be more toned and slimmer.

My plan is to start back running, would live to one day do a marathon but couch to 5k will do for now!!

Tooblunt2012 · 24/01/2012 10:06

Can I join too please? Currently doing Slimming World since birth of my 3rd child last May.

Have lost 1st 8 1/2 lb so far but need to lose another 1st 10lb to get to target.

Height 5ft 4" and weighed 11st 4lb at last Wed weigh in.

catinboots · 24/01/2012 15:50

Can people recommend me some filling, tasty, very low cal suppers.

I get stuck in a rut with my cooking, bored and then start picking....

mrsbossyboots · 25/01/2012 08:11

Morning all. Catinboots, have you tried cauliflower mash? I eat it instead of potato mash and it's yum. Steam or boil cauliflower pieces until soft then puree with a tiny bit of butter, teaspoon (not heaped!) of sour cream or even mayo. Lots of black pepper for me and that's it. You can make a big batch as it freezes well. Yi then eat with grilled chicken, fish, meatballs etc. It's low carb.
