ok so the new year is here, and this is when I promised myself I would start to put in the hard work to shed the baby weight! So here goes Smile ...
7):
Healthy eating, for me being: muesli and soya milk, sandwich/soup/salad, casserole/rice dish/ veggies etc. Snacks to be yogurt/fruit if really need it. Going to make an effort to avoid sugar/high gi foods and drink lots of water.

Exercise: 30ds 5 today, then plan to follow that with 6pack in 6 weeks, followed by starting couch to 5k in time for spring! Big plansGrin

Start weight is 9st 7lb, height 5ft 4" but very flabby, in particular tummy area which is my main concern! Will do measurements and photos of progress too. Feel free to join me!

hi all

Up and at em this morning. Early night and I'm off! I am vowing to look after myself today. With a bit of a cold myself and one DC home from school I have good reason. Just lovely healthy food and less caffeine. Here goes...

I enviously read about couch to 5K - I did the first week but my knees just can't cope at all Sad Pity, I rather fancy the idea of nipping out for a quick jog.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 31/01/2012 09:02

handbags when I did the london marathon starters program a few years ago my knees killed, then I went to a running shop and got properly fitted for running shoes and the next run, no knee pain!

your running shoe size is not your normal shoe size, (mine's a 7, I'm a 5.5 normally) and they'll tell you which brand will suit your foot shape and gait.

It is really worth it! I couldn't believe the difference!

mamasunshine · 31/01/2012 16:37

Argh...I just cannot find any motivation to do 30DS today, also haven't been put walking or anything...maybe I should just have the day off rather than stressing over it?! Or does anyone have any hugely motivating words to get me up and moving ? Grin

SaraBellumHertz · 01/02/2012 08:47

Mind if I join?

Something snapped in me last week and for the first time ever I really want to lose weight as opposed to just generally wishing I could.

I am 5'3", weigh 9st 1lb and would ideally like to be 8stone 5lb. I have given myself 10 weeks to achieve this as that coincides with a big event.

I am eating better and tracking in myfitnesspal -I am still BF youngest so loving the extra 300 calls this gives me Grin

I've also started running last night and from having done nothing since before youngest was born 11 mths ago I did 5km. Can't believe I managed it!!

mamasunshine · 01/02/2012 10:51

Welcome sara Smile Well done on the 5km Shock...I'm far from doing that! I'm also bf dd 12mo and really think it's helping with the weightloss now I'm eating a bit less!

I didn't do the shred yesterday, but I AM going to do it this afternoon!! I've just been out for a brisk 45mins walk with double buggy. Had muesli for breakfast and a small piece of homemade flapjack when I got in. The flapjack is just: oats, raisins, olive oil and dessicated coconut so all good for a little snack.

Going to make some sweet potato and lentil soup now for lunch, then beef casserole and olive mash for dinner!

Morning ladies. How are you all? Hi Sara.
I second Reduce on getting fittes for shoes, though I haven't done it yet, my brother had it done last year and said it was the best money he'd spent.which was a lot as he has gigantic feet!!
Have just been on a walk with dd's class this morning so am sitting the car trying to psyche myself up to go for a run. I brought all my gear with me but its like -2 here at the mo so really not wanting to go! I wimped out last night as it was so cold, really must do it today!

mamasunshine · 03/02/2012 08:17

Hello ladies Smile How are you all bearing up with this cold weather?! Not 'good' eating weather is it! All I'm craving every night is chocolate and all day I want to snack. Really trying to be good! But cannot find the motivation to do the shred. Think I'm just too busy this week and with the walking out in the cold (have been brisk walking with double buggy every day for 45-60mins) it's tiring!

Will try over the weekend, will be easier with dh home to watch the dc so Ican get on with it.

Going to make a butterbean and pancetta soup now and cooking Cq au Vin for dinner. Planning a good weekend, no goodies/alcohol.

another 2lbs off this week which is GREAT but!... but if it had been another 3/4s of a pound I'ld have hit my 1stone milestone and midway point! ah well I'll get there next week!

it has been a hard week for motivation hasn't it mamasunshine, I've kept up shred 6 out of 7 days but only did one run! also I've mostly been good with food choices but my portions have gone up, especially in the evening!

Date night/cheat meal tonight, which would be fine if tomorrow wasn't kids party (lethal! all that snacking!) followed by grown-up's party tomorrow evening! I'll have to make SURE I add in those runs next week to make up for it!

ln1981 · 04/02/2012 17:00

well done Reduce!! Im sure you will hit that milestone next week.

Not even dropped an ounce this week-grr!! But i have been keeping up with my exercise despite the cold weather. We dont have any snow here but my goodness it is FREEZING!!!! Its been a battle to get out running this week.

SaraBellumHertz · 04/02/2012 17:05

Disastrous day yesterday at all you can eat champagne brunch. Ate my body weight in food and drunk my months booze allowance Sad meant to run tonight but unsurprisingly head groggy so will get on it tomorrow.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 04/02/2012 17:25

epic fail today, full of cold so couldn't be bothered to exercise! must do better tomorrow!

SaraBellumHertz · 05/02/2012 07:09

Just been out for a run - only managed 2km still stiff from my 5kms last week.

I have dropped 3lb which I'm thrilled about but suspect may just be water and general bloatingness. I really want to lose another 2lb this week and then I'll be the lightest since I had DC2. So no alcohol, minimal carbs and running x4.

God just the though depresses me Grin

mamasunshine · 05/02/2012 22:00

Oooh well done ladies Grin You're all doing so well! Especially with exercise...I'm not, have been bad bad bad! But have just hit 'that time of the month' so at least now I know why Ive been craving so mucg crap! I just hope it hasn't ettected the scales much tomorrow.

And tomorrow's a new day, and beginning of the week for me so will start with a fresh head in the morning, shred here I come Smile

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 06/02/2012 03:48

Yep mama tomorrow is another day. Two weeks ago if I had a bad day I'd allow it to turn into a bad week, now I just keep going.

mamasunshine · 06/02/2012 08:28

Apologies for so many typos Blush !

So weight is 9st3lb no loss, but wasn't expecting any this week TBH!

Have got myself some chromium to start taking today (balances blood sugar/reduces sugar cravings!) Will see how I get on with that!

Need to walk into town today and will do 30DS too. Had Coq au Vin for dinner last night and made double the amount so that's for dinner again...yummy!

SaraBellumHertz · 07/02/2012 08:00

Mama how old is your DC?

DC4 is 11 months in in the past few weeks I've really noticed a reduction in her feeds - especially at night, yay! And was sort of dreading that as I quite liked having the extra calorie allowance from the BF but I have also noticed for the first time since she was born I am barely getting hungry.

I've reduced my calorie intake right down and I would honestly say it is taking half the food it did 2 months ago to get me full. So I am crossing fingers that I am going to be one of those women for whom the weight falls off once they stop BF Grin

I am logging obsessively Blush on myfitnesspal and the best news is that I have lost 2" off my waist measurement, so I am thrilled with that. When I run I can feel my stomach ache and I've really been trying to concentrate on "positive pain" and that is what is making it slim down.

mamasunshine · 07/02/2012 08:44

Sara dd is 12mo (have 2ds's 2yo and 3yo, so haven't got to the point of proper weightless between pg's) tbh she stil bf a lot! I've really struggled getting her to take solids, although she has suddenly started eating much more over the last month! Yay! She still has up to 7feeds a day, trying really hard to reduce them a bit now.

I have found the same with my appetite re it getting much smaller with less feeding. I was eating a mammoth amount of food and then wondering why I wasn't losing Blush also I've read a lot that when you stop bf your body loses the 7lbs of fat it's held onto for emergency supplies for bf! Can't wait for that Grin

Good day yesterday and planning just basic rations again today I.e. 3meals!

Oh and we'll done Sara on inch loss!

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 07/02/2012 16:14

Thanks mama.

I also have DC's 7,6 and I lost a little boy who would be 2 now. I got very slim after DC2, but after the initial grief related weight loss following the birth of DC3 I couldn't be arsed as all I thought about was another baby and tbh although I knew pretty much the minute DC4 was born that another wasn't right for our family, I've only really come to terms with that in the last couple of months hence new enthusiasm for weight loss.

Sorry I digress Blush

mamasunshine · 08/02/2012 11:07

Sara I'm sorry for your loss Sad unimaginable, really glad to hear you're starting to come to terms with things.

You've done very well already! What's your weight now? I think we're aiming for similar weight? I'm 5'4", target weight 8st 7lb. Also where do you live having champagne brunch Envy Grin! I spent Xmas in Dubai and that's big out there on Fridays! My kind of living....in my dreams Grin

Good day food wise yesterday. Lots of brisk walking out in the cold today, and going out to pizza express later so will try and be good with my choices although think we can only order pizza due to vouchers using?!

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 09/02/2012 07:14

Mama thanks. As of this morning I weight 8st 12lb. I'm 5' 3" and could do with getting to 8 st 5lb so pretty similar to you. But I haven't been that since I got married so may not even be possible.

I live in the UAE and seem to end up at brunch every time there is any sort of celebration. I have two more booked in the next 4 weeks as we have family over. Only solution will be to eat fresh air in the intervening weeks Grin

Resist the pizza!

ln1981 · 09/02/2012 11:01

Hi ladies.how are you all? Just catching up with you all.
No weight loss still! But losing inches so must be doing something right. Food is still my downfall so am doing lots of exercise. How you finding the shred Mama? I have moved onto Jillians 6week6pack-only done it twice-never finished it yet!

ReduceRecycleRegift · 09/02/2012 13:31

this week is a bit of a write off, flu so only shredded once, didn't go to gym classes and no C-5king.

Stuck to diet on weekdays, but think portions are creeping up! was bad at the weekend, had 2 whole cheat days instead of one cheat meal

Haven't lost anything but haven't gained at least!
still loosing inches though which is nice (not measuring, just judging by clothes)

ReduceRecycleRegift · 09/02/2012 13:32

Sad Sara, and well done for getting motivated x

mamasunshine · 14/02/2012 08:40

Hello Smile

WEight yesterday 9st2lb so 1lb loss last week....ver ver slow, but I suppose it's the right direction (and I'm not being very strict). Actually can't wait to be under the 9st mark now so that is tempting me to really go for it for 2 weeks to get there!

sara I'm very Envy at the champagne brunches on your doorstep! What's your average diet at the moment each day? I'm trying to stick to just 3 meals and the odd healthy snack if I really need it (and the odd bit of naughty stuff!) Thinking I should start 'encouraging' the weight to come off a bit more quickly now...just to get it done!

1981 - oh the shred Blush I've not been very good, but back on it today, really need to get it done so I can open my 6pk in 6wks! How's that going? Well done on the inch loss Grin

reduce - how are you getting on now? Have you managed to re-motivate?! It's hard when something knocks the cylce, it always takes me a while to get back into it!

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 14/02/2012 09:11

Hello

RRR colds seem to be doing the rounds everywhere and it so difficult to be motivated when you feel rubbish so don't blame you. I never bother running if I feel under the weather - even if I force myself to get out in only ever end up doing a half arsed attempt and wish I'd never bothered.

I'm pretty much eating the same thing everyday as it helps me stay on track- too much choice and I just start stuffing my face Blush

So breakfast: 2 x poached egg and ham

Lunch: grilled chicken and salad wrap or pita

Dinner bolognese/chilli/stir fry but I go very easy on the rice/pasta/noodles

I snack on fresh fruit raisens and pretzels. With the odd slice of toast if I really can't bear the hunger Grin

I am a sucker for demanding bites of the kids choccy bars or the odd sweet (oh who am I kidding - I'm always helping myself to their "leftovers") and I'm still having a glass of wine or two every other night so I know I'm not being strict enough.

I haven't lost this week but following brunch 10 days ago and a very boozy night on the weekend I don't deserve to have even though I've been out running.

Got family here this weekend so disaster ahead no doubt. If I could do another 3lb by 27 I will be over the moon.
