1.5 Stone to lose by February

butterflyexperience · 28/12/2011 07:16

After dd2 was born I was 2.5 Stone over of what I weighed before DC's.

Earlier this year I managed to lose 1.5 of it but in the past 2 months have put 0.5 back on, from lack of excersise and eating crap.

So...to help motivate me and anyone else who would care to join I'm looking to lose 1.5 Stone in 2 months.

The plan is:
to run 3-4 times a week around 5K each run.
Low Carb it
Stop eating meat, only fish and eggs

My weight today is: 10 Stone

Anyone care to join me?

Hi butterfly - I also have a February deadline and would like to lose at least half a stone, which is a pound a week.

My plan:

no processed food
loads veg
3+ no-carb days a week
no sugar
food diary
Shred

I'm about 12 stone but weighing in on Friday.

Are you still in?

butterflyexperience · 28/12/2011 22:01

Can I join.

543Ty1HappyNewYear · 28/12/2011 22:06

way2serious · 28/12/2011 22:51

Hi. I would also like to lose a stone and half by the middle of February. I have a really sweet tooth and anything sugary or chocolatey is my downfall. I really detest salad but am going to have to grin and bare it! I am going to try to low carb as much as poss and be really tough on myself for 6 weeks or so. I am aiming to start on January 2nd as I have family staying until the 4th. I find the exercise bit tricky as I work long hours. I have thought about the shred DVD but would be embarrassed to do it with anyone in the house! I started the couch to 5k but can only run in the morning and it is too dark and the moment. We live in the country and I ended up in several ditches because I couldn't see where I was running! I was also going to join the 'princessing' thread on style and beauty to give myself a positive boost. is there a set weigh in day?

racingheart · 28/12/2011 23:52

Can I join you? I have just under 2 stone to lose in total. I'm 11 stone and ideal weight is 9.4.
I know it needs to go but my motivation is almost non existent. I keep forgetting I'm massive and bursting out of my clothes. It would be great to lose it quickly then get on with sensible eating to stay on track.

Happy to shred and do C25K to get there.

butterflyexperience · 29/12/2011 06:47

All are welcome and shall we have Friday as a weigh in day?

This morning I'm planning on having fruit for breakfast instead of my usual porridge

Good luck for today ladies!

543 I am about the same weight as you and need to get down to 10 ish stone. Had decided to have a very strict January, no booze, low carb and C25K/shred. Away this weekend so will start on 2 nd jan and post here for company.

ObviouslyOblivious · 29/12/2011 07:22

Can I join? I'm 5ft 2 ish. After DS was born 11 months ago I was nearly 13 stone. When I eventually started dieting using weightwatchers I've gone down to just under 11 stone - but I've hit a bit of a wall.
I want to get to 9.5 stone by my return to work at the end of February as I want a new wardrobe! I'm doing WW online and it gets a bit lonely so it'd be lovely to have support on here :)

ObviouslyOblivious · 29/12/2011 07:24

Forgot to say, I shredded for 2 weeks but it has absolutely shredded my back! So I've had to stop; I walk the dogs twice a day, walk with DS whenever possible, will do C25K and try to swim!

LuckyC · 29/12/2011 09:42

Yay, more of us. I might be a bit on-off until 2nd as I have filthy cold, DD at home and people staying, so cooking and eating and drinking loads.
Today B: fruit / yog L: soup NO BREAD D: chilli / rice / veg / beans E: what I can fit in

butterflyexperience · 29/12/2011 10:16

Lucky - sounds like good meal planning Smile
What soup are you having?

I'm thinking of making some parsnip and sweede soup (left over from Xmas food) could I add Creme fresh? Or us that a bad idea?

Also meant to add that I'm calorie counting too with My Fitness Pal

I am going to try low carbing but could do with some breakfast ideas that don't involve eggs. Any suggestions?

racingheart · 29/12/2011 16:06

way2serious
grilled lean bacon with grilled tomatoes?
Baked beans
Sauteed mushrooms?
Fresh fruit salad with vanilla yoghurt

way2serious · 29/12/2011 16:30

Thanks Racing.
Are baked beans low in carbs? I love mushrooms so that is definitely going on the menu. Not so keen on tomatoes but certainly bacon would be good - could have that with the mushrooms.
Fruit and vanilla yoghurt sound very healthy as well.

butterflyexperience · 29/12/2011 17:14

I have sinned again!
Ate chocolates after my lunch Sad
Had 2 scrambled eggs on 1 toast which feel satisfy me and still have chocolates in the house from Christmas
Bah
Tomorrow is a new day ...

I've had another bad day :(
In my defence DS has had diarrhoea for 9 days and is breastfeeding like a newborn (he's 11 months)!

racingheart · 29/12/2011 22:00

way2 maybe baked beans aren't low carb. I think of them as protein but they may not be.

I'm not even attempting to start until Jan 1st. We have cheese in the house, though I've managed to finish the chocs almost single-handed already. :(

chocolatecheesecake · 29/12/2011 22:33

Can I join? I'm 5ft 6 and this morning weighed in at 11st8lb. Pre DD I was 10st 2. I got down to 10st6lb using weightwatchers then dukan, but started TTC and lost the plot eating-wise. However 6 months in I have faced up that I may not get pregnant anytime soon and if I carry on like I am I will be huge. So I would like to lose a stone by the end of Feb.

Plan:

  • shred DVD
  • no booze
  • no sugary snacks and puds
  • more fruit
  • portion control
TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 30/12/2011 02:19

I'll join you too...I have gained about half a stone over Christmas and would really like to shift that and another half a stone ideally by the end of January - but if not then February! I would like to lose 2 stone in 2012.

Low carb (or poss SW red days), no alcohol, lots of water, a bit of running and the wii-fit for me. Got a meal out tomorrow and a couple of parties over New Year but will be firmly on plan by the time I go back to work on the 3rd.

Good luck everyone!

way2serious · 30/12/2011 11:58

Well I weighed in this morning and definitely need to lose at least a stone by the middle of February.

I am not really starting properly til Tuesday/Wednesday next week when I am back at work and DS is back at school and family have gone home.

However, I thought that if I made some efforts now it would hold me in good stead for next week. So I had a glass of water and a cup of tea for breakfast - I know that I should eat something properly but I thought that I as I wasn't hungry I could get away with it today. I am starving now and so am munching my way through some fruit. I have a terrible headache (sugar and carb withdrawl I am guessing). I sort of have some sympathy for addicts because if I feel lousy because of carbs and sugar goodness knows how they must feel!!!

I am also going to stay off the scales until next Friday - I am always terrible at jumping on them everyday!

Good luck to everyone else.

LuckyC · 30/12/2011 18:52

W/in today and appalled to find I am 12 stone again, ie right back where I started at beginning Nov. Trying to keep a lid on it this weekend though. I promise I will be back on Mon/Tues. Happy New Year everyone!

PS butterfly sorry I was not around - soup was not very low-carb as essentially just a bunch of root veg and a handful of lentils. Yum though. I have no idea about creme fraiche??? Surely better than cream or butter though?

LuckyC · 30/12/2011 18:54

PPS obviously I feel for you! No sleep for me means I go straight for the carbs and sugar. It's so hard to eat well when you feel underwater. Hope DS is feeling better.

ObviouslyOblivious · 30/12/2011 19:06

Thanks Lucky! Poor DS is really under the weather, the 10th day of diarrhoea, a fever and a cold on top :( We've got our own chair in the GP waiting room :o
So yes he's feeding tons, I'm eating tons plenty, but I weighed myself today and I'm 10st 10 which is soooo much better than I was expecting! Breastfeeding is amazing :o

kasbah72 · 30/12/2011 19:12

Can I join you next Friday? With Xmas/New Year/Birthday celebrations still going on it is pointless getting wound up about the next few days!

Am currently 13s 11 and would like to reach 12 11 by end Feb. I then want to get to 11 11 by the summer. Ideally I would like to be nearer 11 by December for my 40th but I am a heavy set 5'10" so that might be very difficult without going down the semi starvation route that only ever leads to short term loss and long term gain!

Anything below 12 and toned is great for me.

Aiming to be low carb when poss and carb conscious when not. I will run twice a week and shred twice a week as my realistic minimum. Anything above that will be brilliant.
