And the GI diet comes out worst for weight loss. And the message is "eat less food, do more exercise"

I DON'T WANT TO BE TOLD THAT!!!! I WANT A BLOODY MIRACLE, OK?

I want a miracle one too. An eat all you want and still lose weight one. And I would take no notice of anything Gillian McAngry says as she is clearly insane and looks terrible.

I did Rosemary Conley too and lost two stone. And WeightWatchers and lost 3. Not consecutively, I hasten to add - put it back on in between.

And now I need to lose a stone again but I really can't be bothered...

Nbg · 04/01/2006 21:19

A bit simple I know so forgive me for my suggesstion but have you considered weight watchers if you want to lose weight?

It's the only diet that has worked for me and others. My MIL and SIL have started again but the last time they did I could see the results straight away.

emkana · 04/01/2006 21:21

I'm pregnant now and happily putting all the weight back on I lost after having dd2 (four and a half stone).

but generally I'm extremely ped off that I can't have both - eat as much as I want and have the figure I want. It was possible when I was 18 but not anymore, which is a right bugger*.

Caligula · 04/01/2006 21:22

No nothing works for me except having someone else do all the shopping, preparing and cooking that goes with it.

Today I went to Woolworths and bought a whole load of pic'n'mix. I never do that. Except when I'm trying to lose weight.

I saw that programme too and I don't think the woman who did the GI diet was very motivated, whereas some of the others must have been barmy to carry on with the diets they were trying, like the woman that was eating loads of pineapple and running to the loo.

There is someone on MN who has lost loads on GI, is it Puff?

Caligula · 04/01/2006 21:23

emkana, you could have if you rowed.

In my more optimistic moments, I consider rowing, but I know I'm too lazy

I thought that woman was a bit odd too. Like she said she was constipated. On the GI diet? With all those beans? How is that possible?

I'm cheating at the mo. I've got myself a pair of those control/slimming pants to delude myself until I can be bothered to get my butt back down the gym and start seeing results. Strange when everyone tells me that I don't need to loose weight.

Saker · 04/01/2006 21:28

I have been doing the GI diet and think it's good. I lost a stone over last summer and want to lose another stone now. But Puff has lost 7st on the GI diet.

I didn't think that woman was motivated - she said she had trouble fitting it around her lifestyle read "I didn't stick to it".

Nbg · 04/01/2006 21:30

I still have the menu for the 10 day diet. Guarenteed to lose a ridiculous amount of weight.

It's used in hospitals apparently for patients who need to lose a bit of weight before an op, apparently.

I'll post it if you want, it's very simple....

hunkermunker · 04/01/2006 21:31

Rosemary Conley makes me want to eat lard sandwiches.

I saw her discussing how to have a fat-free Christmas dinner once. Had a fry-up to calm my nerves.

marthamoo · 04/01/2006 21:33

I read an interview with Rosemary Conley once where the interviewer asked if she ever went off the rails and pigged out. Ooh yes, she said, about 4 times a year she would "go mad" and have a...wait for it...vanilla slice One vanilla slice? Four times a year? That's no way to live is it?

LIZS · 04/01/2006 21:34

You mean that the Sitting-in-front-of-the-pc,-drinking-tea-and-eating-chocolate-diet is a con

Caligula · 04/01/2006 21:34

Go on NBG!

I once knew someone who did a red wine diet.

Hmmm. I'm beginning to be attracted by that.

(She did faint at work though and was permanently drunk and offering to shag her colleagues.)

Tis very important stuff you know

acnebride · 04/01/2006 21:37

fantastic caligula that's the one for me!

Caligula · 04/01/2006 21:37

Oh God what a joyless existence Rosemary Conley's must be.

OK it is a 3 day set up so you can do it consecutively IYSWIM or have a little break and do it again.

Day 1

Brekkie
Tea
1 small glass of juice
1 Slice of toast with 1 tbsp of peanut butter

Lunch
1/2 Cup of Tuna
1 Slice of toast
Tea

Dinner
3OZ of any lean red meat or chicken
1 cup of green beans
1 cup of carots
1 cup of ice cream
1 apple

Day 2

Brekkie
Tea
1 Egg (boiled, scrambled, omlette)
1/2 banana
1 slice of toast

Lunch
1 Cup of cottage cheese or tuna
8 regular saltine (water)biscuits/crackers

Dinner
2 beef franks (Frankfurt sausages)
1 cup of brocoli or cabbage
1/2 cup of carrots
1/2 banana
1/2 cup of ice cream

Day 3

Brekkie
Tea
5 crackers
1oz cheddar cheese
1 apple

Lunch
1 boiled egg
1 slice of toast
Tea

Dinner
1 cup of tuna

You must drink at least 4 glasses of water too every day. I think it says you should lose 10lbs if you do it.

Hmm. I could alternate it with the GI diet. And supplement it with several kilos of pic'n'mix.

I like the sound of lard sandwiches. They've got to be good for you.

Nbg · 04/01/2006 21:47
