Right! My head is in the right place to start eating healthily. Have logged my details on MFP and have planned a healthy shopping list. Does anyone want to join me to lose 2 stone before Christmas????

Well I have managed to lose the huge amount of....1lb!!
Still, better than nothing I suppose!

How is everyone doing? Seems a bit quiet on here at the moment..

omydarlin · 10/10/2011 23:36

weekend was good did lots of walking and even though went over about 300 cal

gailforce1 · 12/10/2011 20:27

Well, I gave in to temptation on several fronts, and weighed this am...put on the 1lb I had lost! Doing really badly on the exercise front during the week, simply lack of time! How is everyone else?

Wafflenose · 14/10/2011 11:22

I have lost a massive 1/2 lb this week, taking me to 10st 12.25lb.

BUT... I am thrilled with that, as we went away for the weekend, ended up eating out on Sat night and could then only find really rubbish junk food at the very large amusement park we went to on the Sunday. I honestly thought I'd put on a pound or two, but I guess all the traipsing around must have helped.

It's DD's birthday this weekend so I'm going to try not to get too tempted!

My goal for this week is to reach 10st 11lb for a total loss of half a stone, in what will have been 7 weeks.

omydarlin · 14/10/2011 11:44

stayed the same this week started of well but major binge on Wednesday and i NEVER lose weight if I dont do tons of exercise Oh well that?s life ? onwards and upwards still want to look like ive lost a stone in two weeks time. I?m heading off to Aldi tonight as they have some running bits in gloves, hats, socks etc for £2.99 . really want to start again just being out in daylight in front of people is scaring the bejesus out of me.

How is everyone else ? bit quiet lately !!

gailforce1 · 14/10/2011 21:22

Well after the mid week blip I weighed this morning and I am 14.5 which is a loss of 2lbs!
Must start to do some exercise during the week, always very busy at the weekend doing lots of walking but don't feel that is enough.
omy - did you get your running bits? How will you start off - alternating walking and running?
waffle good luck for this week to make the half stone loss. I would be thrilled to get down to 14st, can't remember when I last weighed that!
Anyone else about?

omydarlin · 16/10/2011 16:08

hi everyone not felt well so been picking last couple of days but not had any dinner. So we'll see that turns out. Gailforce only managed to get to Aldi today not much left but picked up some running socks and headband thing. I will just do a run walk pattern to start will probably follow a couch2 5k from week 3 as i know I can run for at least 5 mins without stopping. I walk loads already and do sprints in my house. My body seems to respond better to natural movements , running , yoga, swimming etc.

Feeling a bit smug and virtuoso this morning as got up at 6.30 for a run/walk although I ached a bit now was not cold at all after about two minutes now and did not feel horrible or anything whilst doing it. It was made especially worth it as I live near the sea so managed to get down to the harbour to see the sun just rising and pepping over the still water which really was breathtakingly beautiful. Going to carry on doing run 5 walk 1 for rest of week - Then follow week 4 of October Zest magazine 6 weeks to 5k plan- plan is to be able to run 5k comfortably Christmas Day !! Well done on your weight loss cocktailqueen very deserved of those crisps I think.

Has anyone got any special events coming up before Christmas or any special outfits they are dying to fit into???

I have my Christmas day outfit planned (Red Cowl neck Jumper thingy Size 14 ) that I think at present I look a bit podgy in. I will look good in it on the day - I will!!

gailforce1 · 18/10/2011 20:50

omy seriously impressed at your early morning morning run/walk and plan to run 5k on Christmas Day. Have not come accross Zest magazine - is it only for those who are already fairly fit?

I have my birthday to dread/look forward to in early December so would love to be able to buy a nice dress. Although i have seen the details of a dressmaker in a local magazine and am wondering how much it would cost to have a dress made as I have not seen anything I like in the shops and mail order ones have had to be sent back!

I am sure if you keep going you will look fantastic in your "red cowl neck jumper thingy"!

Cocktail - wine and crisps are my downfall too! Hope you enjoyed and well done on your weight loss.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

omydarlin · 21/10/2011 11:33

Just weighing in quickly down 2lbs to 192!! very please after last weeks stay the same due to time of month -- must get back to work will be on later to chat!!

omydarlin · 21/10/2011 13:47

gailforce1 Zest is one of those ehalthy lifestyle mags but it has lots for beginners and i find all those fit bodies shaming and vomit inducing aspirational! Go for it with the dressmaker teh ladie who altered my wedding dress was just the most fantastic seamstress she managed to alter my friends dress when she found out she was pregnant for her wedding plus it is good to support local businesses etc plus you can choose your own material pattern etc. There is a shop online that does this too design a dress type thingy but I cant remember whats its called sorry!!

cocktail queen et al how have you been getting on??

Cheeser · 23/10/2011 13:13

Hi everyone. I've been rubbish at getting on to MN lately so not been on this thread, soz.

Going well though, I think. I've not weighed myself yet, the batteries on my scales have given up the ghost.

I tried on some wedding dresses yesterday and I really felt good in most of them. I definitely could do with toning up and losing a few more inches in order to feel amazing but overall I feel quite pleased. I've had a really busy couple of weeks at work which have meant that I've not been able to go to the canteen and buy up their snack counter Blush Hmm

I've been averaging about 3-4 gym stops each week and have found some great classes that I'm enjoying. And I've decided to pay for a personal trainer in November which should keep me on the straight and narrow until W-Day (May, we think).

omydarlin you mentioned a seamstress... are you in London by any chance? I'd really like to have a chat with a dressmaker - I know the kind of thing I want for my wedding dress but what I tried on was really expensive. My mum has kindly offered to pay for the dress but I'd feel dreadful if she shelled out for the one I fell in love with yesterday.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekeng Smile

omydarlin · 24/10/2011 19:23

Hi cheeser i'm afraid I live on the south coast although I am from deepest surrey suburbia so I will ask around for you - a few options you may/may not have considered

sample sales (girl at work had her heart set on a 50s style dress and picked one up in a from her fave designer sample sale for a 1/3rd of the price

wedding ideas forum - great source of info here there is a looking to find thread

Shipping from America and getting altered yourself...if the wedding dress is from a well known american based designer you could get it shipped from a website such as House of Brides but remember lots of dress shops do not actually give you the name of the dress/designer so you may have to search.

I love love love weddingy stuff lol! well done on keeping on straight and narrow!!

gailforce1 · 24/10/2011 21:18

omy well done on the 2lb loss, def going in the right direction! Envious of you living close to the sea - love the coast all the year round and what a great place to exercise. I will have a look at Zest for some inspiration if there is some beginners stuff.

I have remained the same but it has been time of the month and generally I put on a couple of pounds then so nothing happening is a bit of a result!

Cheeser good luck with your wedding plans. The trouble is that big occassions always seem so far away and then, suddenly, they are upon you! Seems you are doing really well with 3/4 visits to the gym and I think a personal trainer is a good investment as they will keep you on track.

Good Luck everyone this week!

gailforce1 · 29/10/2011 16:02

Anyone about?

In the hope that someone will be back I will keep it going!
Have remained the same which I am pleased about as I put my back out and have been on painkillers which have to be taken with food and have not been able to exercise.
Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing!

omydarlin · 31/10/2011 18:11
