Right! My head is in the right place to start eating healthily. Have logged my details on MFP and have planned a healthy shopping list. Does anyone want to join me to lose 2 stone before Christmas????

I wasn't so good today (it's evening where I live) as I made the kids the best ever chicken pie from scratch and they wouldn't eat it (little sods). I managed to help them out a bit Blush. It's 7pm, my witching hour, when I find it hardest to resist the snacks, so I'm going to get the kids to bed and soak in the bath, which also happens to be furthest away from the fridge Grin

cocktailqueen would love to know what yummy but good for you things you have bought ? my faves are smoked salmon and exotic fruit ? feels like a treat! Need more ideas though. Weekend was good for me except I didnt manage to get into extra exercise last night due to it taking two hours for us to get back from Witterings beach ? about 10 mile journey grrrr this resulted in a 9 pm trip to chippy ! So I need to make up about 200 cals to mitigate against this. Must say I wish you could do this on myfitnesspal though ( a bit like you used to be able to carry points in WW)

Also started my fitness coach on the WII which I must say is actually quite boring ? its good though I know what exercise I PREFER to do now, jogging outside , on the wii, dancing, justdance, yoga, zumba classes etc. I will try to keep up with it a couple of times a week as I?m sure lunges will help me in the quest for skinny jeans.

Tonight for Dinner is student schwartz Tuna Pasta Napolitana as I have not had the chance to get to the shops?oh and ive also bought two little and one big Heston Xmas pudding!

CocktailQueen · 03/10/2011 16:52

CocktailQueen · 04/10/2011 09:55

What eating plans are you all following? I still have not made up my mind what to do as I have managed to lose 3 stone over 18months but nothing over the past year so have reached my plateau and cannot seem to budge!
Also been told I have to go gluten free so dont know how this would impact on SW or WW.
Would be grqateful for any advice!

omydarlin · 04/10/2011 20:07

gailforce- am just calorie counting with my fitness pal. Trying to up my protein , fruit and veg and slow release carbs and not eat biscuits. I don't know about sw but on ww you can eat whatever you like as long as it is within your points allowance. I was sucessful on ww a few years ago purely because of my scary leader and the meetings support. However when my leader changed i could never quite get back in to it and to be honest I think it is really a big con now . It's just a pointed sensible diet in essence.

omydarlin · 04/10/2011 20:15

Cocktailqueen ; friday is good for me.

gailforce1 · 04/10/2011 20:33

omydarlin I have just reread and find that we are both 5'7" but I am slightly heavier at 14st 7lb. Do you think that 2 stone before Christmas is realistic?

omydarlin · 04/10/2011 23:09

it will be just over 2 lbs a week so not unachievable , i suppose what matters most is that we have set ourselves a goal and with determination we would get very near it reach for the stars and all that. You've come so far gailforce i'm sure you will do brilliantly. To focus on my goal i have written a little page in my diary, how I want to look and feel on christmas day.

CocktailQueen · 05/10/2011 13:47

That's a good idea omy - I've started a food diary too to write down everything I eat and to record how I feel when I want to eat/drink wine. I tend to overeat when sad/to reward myself after a long day/out of habit, so I want to stop all those things.

Not sure if 2 stone is achievable in time for Xmas but will give it a go.

how has everyone done today - i'm within my cals on mfp but no exercise today or yesterday which I need to rectify tomorrow. My carb cravings, fluid retention have started ready for t. o. m grrrr but i'm determined not o give into them as I have broken the cycle so far. I was in Poundland today and managed to resist buying giant bars of Toblerone. Likewise in Waitrose managed to avoid buying yummy picky bits - picked up a copy of the mag instead. Just need to work on the exercise thing a bit more.

Having a day out in London on Saturday and meeting friends for Dim sum in China Town..bit worried about that!!

Has anyone else had any successes today with their diet e.g managing to resist stuff , getting in some exercise ?please share to keep me motivated and give me ideas!!!

CocktailQueen · 06/10/2011 13:42

No wine or crisps for a week for me - till last night :( Ah well, that's better than nothing. Feel very motivated again today so big salad for lunch - and a cupasoup is good for filling me up in the mid afternoon.

Well done for resisting the evil toblerone...

Ooh, yes! 2 stone is exactly what I need to lose. Am just under 5'3", was slim pre-kids but never lost the baby weight second time and by the end of this summer was 11st 4lb Blush Have lost 5lb since the start of term, so now 10st 13lb and was hoping to be 10st by Christmas, and 9st by my birthday next spring. But if everyone else is aiming high, I'm going to as well!

omydarlin · 06/10/2011 18:07

welcome wafflenose! Is everyone ok to weigh in friday ? I feel very motivated today after jogging like a nutter up and down the house for 30 minutes . Dinner was jacket potato with spinach and reduced fat cheese. Yum. Should keep those carb cravings at bay. If anyone feels they need a kick up the bum let me know and i'll put my big boots on :)

gailforce1 · 06/10/2011 21:22

Must do some exercise!! Tend to do a lot of walking at the weekends but find it hard to fit in during the week. Am going to start a food diary and exercise diary - weigh in tomorrow, how did that come round so quickly?

Wafflenose · 07/10/2011 10:33

Thanks omy!

Weighed in today - 10st 12.75 lb, which was not a shock as I was 10st 13lb a couple of days before. So I started a month ago, and have lost 5.25lb. Need to be between 8st and 9st to be healthy (quite short and quite a small build pre-kids) but would be delighted with 9st at the moment! How's everyone else today?

omydarlin · 07/10/2011 10:57

I can't weigh in - tried this morning and batteries must have gone on my scales. I did weigh myslef on Monday and had lost 1lb (I now weigh myself in pounds seems less terrifying than stones as I cant compute it as well iykwim)

I will havea look for the batteries today and hopefully be back on tonight. Still trackiing on MFP which is good. Feeling in control which is great for this time of the month although husband was moaning about the lack of biscuits in the house last night!!

Day out in London tommorow Dim Sum, Liberty Christmas shop and Hamleys - cant wait!! Shall try and invit myself to MIL on sunday she will probably do a roast but she does so many veggies its great.

I think you can definitely lose a stone before christmas wafflenose go for it!!

fatchip · 07/10/2011 11:19

Please may I join you? I weigh exactly 11st 10 today, am 5ft 7 and would like to lose about a stone before Xmas. I seem to be stuck at this weight no matter what I do, it's really frustrating.

Used Food focus successfully in the past, think I will rejoin as even though I feel I eat healthily, my portion sizes or something must be off.,

And sadly, I just don't think I actually need that much food to survive. Shame, as I really enjoy it!

CocktailQueen · 07/10/2011 13:36

Weigh in today!

I have lost 4lbs, down from 13st 8 to 13st 4. Yay!

How about everyone else?

omydarlin · 07/10/2011 14:15

Well done cocktailqueen thats fab seems like you deserved that wine anyways :)

Welcome fatchip i'm 5ft 7 too and so is gailforce1 10st 11 was a really good weight for me and my frame - stick with us and you'll get there some of us are on myfitnesspal have a look and see what you think!

Looking forward to christmas more and more now ;-)

Cant wait for mine.

fatchip · 07/10/2011 17:46

Thanks omydarlin, 10st 11 was good for me too. I was a nice, comfortable 12 at that point rather than a straining at the seams on a generous size one!

Spoke to a friend today who is a personal trainer and nutritionist. She reckons I'm not eating enough Hmm which doesn't make sense to me. She wants me to write down everything I eat for the next week and she's going to do me a plan.

omydarlin · 07/10/2011 19:59

weighed in once i'd been to poundland 2lb off. Chuffed. Now 195 lb which i think is below 14 st but i daren't look pmsl. fatchip I managed to put all this weight on by eating very little putting my body in 'survival' mode then having the occasional binge. So it is possible to gain weight by not eating enough and even reach a plateau etc Lucky you with your trainer friend let us know what she says.

omydarlin · 07/10/2011 20:01

ahem once i'd been to poundland to get the batteries for my scales.
