Hello all!
I followed the zoe harcombe diet when I put on over 2st AFTER dd1, had hyperemesis in pregnancy so went wild on food as soon as she was out!
It claims to stop cravings and it worked with me, as I'm an absolute pig for chocolate, and left to my own devices will eat those massive bars of it everyday.
There's a phase 1, where you can eat unlimited amounts of veg, meat, fish, butter, eggs, full fat natural live yogurt, and either a bowl of brown rice, or porridge, decaff tea and coffee. You can cook with olive oil and coconut milk too, which is handy for curries etc. Typical day would be porridge with water and bit of coconut milk, Spanish omelette with salad and chicken, chicken butternut squash curry with coconut and green beans, and loads of live yogurt.
Phase 2 is split into carb meals and fat meals.
Carb meal is anything involving potato, pasta, bread, with unlimited veg, low fat dairy, fruit, olive oil for cooking. Usual lunch would be hummus pitta with roasted veg, salad with fruit and low fat yogurt.
Fat meals, are meat, egg, fish, full fat dairy, berries, unlimited veg.
Usual meal would be chicken salad, or steak with peppercorn sauce, garlic mushrooms, veg, and strawberries and double cream for desert.
Really the book explains it all better than me!
I lost 2.5st in 2.5 months last time I did it.
Agree about the bf- health visitor told me it would drop off, so ploughed into chocolate like no tomorrow, it has helped me maintain my weight though where I would have put on before.
Am going to my 6 wk check before I embark on davina DVDs, apparently you have to wait until your pelvic floor has recovered before bouncing around, how the hell do you know when it's recovered!
I'll weigh on Monday to find out the damage and see if I've lost anything.
Is anyone sensibly eating or following diets?
