I am all geared up to start on this tomorrow. Lost 10lbs with weightwatchers over last 6 weeks but at a plateau so going Dukan!

Filled the fridge with all the right stuff, plan for tomorrow is:

Brek: 2xeggs, ham and cot cheese
Snack: Cot cheese & tuna and vanilla fat free yog
Lunch: oat pancake thingy, smoked salmon, chicken, cot cheese (?!?!?)
snack: yog
Dinner: prawns, turkey breast wrapped in ham and going to try and make dukan mayo to go with it

plus.... all the water of course!

Planning to do attack for 3 days....

How are we all doing? I had a little lapse yesterday.just a bit of bread though not a chocolate bar or anything major.I feel so much better for it though and found it alot easier to be strict again today.

zingzillachinchilla · 04/07/2011 16:39

I fell off the wagon for a week or so - visitors staying & business trip abroad. Haven't gained much - a pound or so (miraculous!!) so getting back on track with 3-day attack phase. Hope everyone is doing ok.

I'm eating lots of Rachels organic low fat yoghurt - probably not the best one to use but it's tasty and it seemed to work before. Anyone else using them?

zingzillachinchilla · 04/07/2011 16:41

Well done, fairy doll! Your little lapse shouldn't set you back?

genial · 04/07/2011 19:31

Hello again.. had a bit of a false start last week... managed 2 days of attack (loss 2kgs) then fell off the wagon for the rest of the week.. TOTM (no excuse I know) .. I was very naughty and ate loads of bad things and didn't really get myself organized.. and the 2kgs went straight back on (no doubt due to the two big bags of crisps, my downfall, that I chomped through!!)

Anyway, I restarted again on Saturday with two days of PP and by this morning I was 2kg down.. PV today, had baked salmon steak with spinach for dinner.. strawberry jelly mixed with 0% fromage frais for dessert.. and LOTS of water (sugar-free squash mostly) during the day..

Have prepared lunch for tomorrow (quiche made with cottage cheese, eggs and ham) and will be off to the supermarket again to fill up on all things dukan (and avoid the crisp aisle!!)

goingtogodukan · 04/07/2011 20:12

Hi all - I am still going with it on cruise - i do have some treats over weekend and have just managed to lose another 1lb... weigh in tomorrow hoping for a bit more of a loss to.

The best thing is people are really noticing the weight loss now and my stomach is no longer a jelly belly :D I don't really miss carbs anymore - just chocolate, fruit and wine :D

how is everyone else doing?

Well done Goingtogo and genial.
How does the quiche thing work? do you use ham instead of pastry?

genial · 05/07/2011 07:35

Fairydoll... no, I just mix up the chopped up ham with the cottage cheese and eggs and cook it in the oven.. not QUITE as delish as a quiche with pastry, but edible enough.. sometimes I make it with prawns, sometimes chopped up smoked salmon.. or chicken if I have some leftovers.. I used a 200g pot of low-fat cottage cheese and 2 eggs, plus seasoning to taste.

PV day yesterday, no loss on scales this morning.. PP day today..

How is everyone else getting on?

tipp2chicago · 05/07/2011 18:43

Hi everyone, I've been on Dukan for 5 weeks and lost 18lb, only another 42lb to go. Blush

Notanexpert · 05/07/2011 19:37

Hi, I'm new here, and on Day 3 attack. it's just dull really. I'm making chips for family to go with salmon, and they smell divine. I run a group on Tuesday mornings, and always provide lovely refreshments, and do home baking, so I kept that up as normal today, which was hard. Leaving aside my hazelnut biscuits, the cherries and raspberries looked so inviting...
I'm going to need your support to keep going. Lunch with v glamorous friend tomorrow, usually a very boozy occasion, so she's going to think I've gone mad! Hoping restaurant will do steak (and I'll have some salad). I've got a long way to go.

goingtogodukan · 06/07/2011 16:56

Hi NOTANEXPERT

The attack is the hardest part.... just getting used to it. Make sure you have some nice fat free yogs in if you need a sweet treat is my advice!

Seriously though once the weight starts coming off it is soooo encouraging - yes I have had a few blips... i allow myself naughty stuff on saturday night ie. wine and crisps and cake... but not masses of it!

Keep going, you will be very pleased you did

Thanks Goingto. The restaurant were fab, as was my friend, and I had chicken in lemon and thyme, which was fine. And mineral water! I'm hoping to be able to keep the motivation up, and went for a long walk (for me) after work. My friend was telling me to bath in Epsom salts to get rid of toxins. Has anyone else tried this?

zingzillachinchilla · 07/07/2011 11:44

Well done tipp! Look at it in the most positive way - you are already more than a quarter into achieving your goal... in only 5 weeks. Almost a third of the way there - good effort.

Genial - quiche sounds lovely, will have to try that.

Notanexpert - I had a similar experience with raspberries - suddenly they became the most desirable food in the world!

foreverondiet · 07/07/2011 12:23

Not sure how many of your have seen this:

link

I basically follow dukan cruise now, have kept weight off so far (and my current weight is a stone under what the website said my "true weight" was at the start), but I do not do the weekly protein only day... but probably have instead a couple of PV only days a week (well PV plus 2 apples!). I too am not convinced that eating so much protein is either desirable or healthy, prefer to eat stacks of vegetables!

spiderpig8 · 07/07/2011 17:01

Last day of Attack today.i have been on attack for 10 days and lost 9lbs!! Although I have another 60lbs to lose to get into my healthy weight range.I had some pains in my kidneys to begin in spite of huge quantities of water, but they disappeared after a couple of days , so I wonder if it was just the kidneys adapting to more protein.
I am not having vast quantities of protein and amazed how little food i need to keep hunger at bay.
typically
oatbran and skimmed milk for brekky
couple of slices of ham/beef with mustard, and mullerlight vanilla yogurt for lunch
sugar free jelly or yogurt for snacks
steak/chickenn breast/salmon fillet for tea

I am loving the diet though, I feel so well and I can tell my face a nd neck are thinner and clothes slightly looser.
Strangely my muscles feel bigger? Although I have bben doing the walking and exercises every day.

goingtogodukan · 13/07/2011 07:02

This thread gone quiet..... tiptoes around...

Anyway, I reached my goal weight today wooo hoooooooooooooo! thats the good news!!!

Today I go on holiday and its all inclusive......... i am certainly NOT going to diet though to be honest will keep away from carbs to some extent as i feel so much better for it!

Will let you know on the weigh in when i get back.......... think i will go back on attack then as no doubt will have put a few (hopefully not more than that) pounds back on.................

How is everyone doing?

Just logging on.
Started this morning. Not really, properly. But really I haven't prepared enough. I haven't managed to buy any Oat bran.
So far I have eaten :
Breakfast: 3 rashes bacon, 2 eggs. ( Not the best start then, prob should cut that down to 2 of each)
Lunch:small amount of sainsburys chilli chicken, lettuce and spring onions. ( think the packets of plain chicken would be better. am sure I can make my own chilli or curry sauce that would be better). Plus I now read I am not supposed to be eating lettuce or spring onionsd at this stage, of attack. oh bugger.
2 spoonfulls of onken fat free natural youghurt. I really like this, and think I could use it alot in sauces and things . (please don't tell me its a bad thing, coz thta would be a pain)
lots of water.
green tea. for the first time in my life. is fine, i thought it would be rank.
pukka detox tea. also o.k. thought it would be vile, seeing as i normally drink builders tea.
weighed myself. mid afternoon. 11 stone. not good. I normally weigh myself, once a month, naked, at 6am.
Need to get to 9 1/2 stone.

Oblomov · 18/07/2011 07:58

Last night I ate mince, with onion and herbs made into meatballs and cooked in the oven. Made a curry dip with fat free youghurt. I did spag bol with dough balls and garlic dip for the boys and dh.
Weighed myself, naked at the normal time, 6am.
10 stone 9 1/2.
Don't think dukan has made me lose those lbs, down from 11 stone. think it was just the time of weighing.
Am eating fat free youghurt, as I type.
Off to do schol run. Atleast that'll be my exercise done.

kalitixi · 19/07/2011 18:30

hello! I am in the middle of attack. I didn't lose much at the start of attack and a French friend of mine is a veteran of the original diet, she told not to have the sweet Muller fat free yogurts as they have quite a lot of sugar (plus sweeteners) in them: eg the vanilla has fructose plus aspartame and fructose is sugar (I didn't know that!). So, now I flavour plain fat free yogurts with vanilla essence and sweetener and I am losing consistently.

Boo81 · 21/07/2011 12:25

Hello!

Well I'm back here and back on the wagon after a couple of weeks away. I tried to eat relatively low-carb while I was away but also had quite a few sneaky portions of chips, crisps and cake.

The damage wasn't too bad - a 2lb gain from when I last weighed in 3 weeks ago. I've been back on Dukan since Tuesday and doing 4 days of attack to kick start the weight loss. I'm a little worried about the weekend though as I have a camping trip with friends planned. I think the main meals should be ok as I will have bbq'd meat with salad. But am a bit concerned about snacks - I eat a lot of boiled eggs, yoghurt and slices of ham throughout the day to stave off hunger. Has anyone got any dukan-friendly snack ideas that don't need to be refridgerated? If I boiled a whole load of eggs on friday would they last the weekend???

kalitixi - I'm trying to cut down on fruit flavoured yoghurts so have been adding vanilla to fat free fromage frais. Just one question - what is the difference between vanilla essence and vanilla flavouring??

goingtogodukan · 21/07/2011 14:22

Hi all - back from hols and put on just 2lbs which am very pleased with... although did have some upset tummy on hols which prob helped weight loss....

Back to attack now :)

re: flavoured yoghurt

I haven't found any flavoured yoghurts yet that are allowed on the diet - ie they all contain some added sugar or some sort of other - it might be described as fructose, or corn syrup but its still sugar. You might decide as a cheat you don't mind eat one a day as a treat, but its still a cheat.

If anyone finds let me know.

I buy natural yoghurt and add vanilla essense and stevia, but don't worry about one fruit yoghurt a day once on consolidation.

kalitixi · 24/07/2011 04:10

hiya, tried to post before but that didn't get past the mumsnet maintenance pixies. A few weeks ago I went to the bakery department of tesco, got lots of essences all purporting to be natural (almond, vanilla, orange, lemon, raspberry and orange) and I add a very tiny drop to yogurt (plus splenda): very cheap and the bottles last forever.

Otherwise it seems that vanilla extract is always natural, whereas essence is often artificial (though checking what I have, it does seem to be an extract labelled as a "natural essence"). In my experience vanilla extract is darkly delicious ... vanilla flavouring is probably going to be the chemical stuff: not necessarily nasty but might have a bit of an aftertaste.

I've done OK this week apart from today when I had a glass of champagne at a wedding (a strangely wintery bad news day for a wedding) to ease my cold. I have to say that I think my muscles are getting bigger too! Or perhaps the water retention that was hiding them before is slightly less now?

TMI2008 · 24/07/2011 10:34

Hiya,

Can I join? Starting Dukan today as I have 2 babies worth of weight to shift - 6 stone in total. So doing the attack phase for 10 days. Wish me luck?

Start Weight: 16.8 stone
Target Weight: 10 Stone
