I am all geared up to start on this tomorrow. Lost 10lbs with weightwatchers over last 6 weeks but at a plateau so going Dukan!

Filled the fridge with all the right stuff, plan for tomorrow is:

Brek: 2xeggs, ham and cot cheese
Snack: Cot cheese & tuna and vanilla fat free yog
Lunch: oat pancake thingy, smoked salmon, chicken, cot cheese (?!?!?)
snack: yog
Dinner: prawns, turkey breast wrapped in ham and going to try and make dukan mayo to go with it

plus.... all the water of course!

Planning to do attack for 3 days....

Annnnddddd: 10 stone 11 this morning! 5 lbs in 3 days! Wow! DH has lost 4lbs, which I am quite surprised at because usually he loses weight much faster than me (his BMI is higher). I am so pleased with myself. I measured myself yesterday and my measurements are all the same, but hey. Oh God, I've just remembered a horrible dream last night where I was looking at myself naked and I looked just like a barrel, completely straight up and down with no waist. That's not true! I do have a waist.

Did you weigh in, going? Was it good news? Veg is starting to sound so delicious to me now!

Boo81 · 23/06/2011 10:59

TooImm - good work! Its so rewarding seeing those numbers move down isn't it!

Going - where do you buy low carb sweets? I've been trying out the dukan dessert recipes hoping to get my sweet fix but so far they are all vile. Maybe I'm not following the recipes right?

After a PV day yesterday I've now put on 3lbs. WTF? Don't understand this diet at all! Is it normal to keep putting on weight after PV days and then losing it after a PP day? If so what weight do you use as your "real weight"??

I guess I just have to ignore the scales and concentrate on clothes instead. A dress that didn't fit me last week now fits me perfectly so something must be working.

TooImmature2BMum · 23/06/2011 11:24

It says in the book that it is normal to plateau or put weight back on during PV days (sadly). He says that the PP days show your actual weight, and if you plateau for a long time then you ought to up your exercise or do a few days PP to get moving again.

Am going to go try on my dress for my friend's wedding again. Last time I tried it wouldn't zip up past my ribs. Fingers crossed!

I have tried some of the sweet recipes and so far I find them disgusting too! I tried the coffee creme one and, although sabotaged by DH shoving the eggs back into the fridge and knocking over both pots of creme before they had set, they tasted horrible - like egg yolk mixed with coffee. If I had had aspartame handy they might have turned out better. DH brought some home and tried making oat bran muffins, which are also vile. Oh well!

foreverondiet · 23/06/2011 15:40

Having being dukaning for a while (admitedly not too many PP days and I do cheat), the reason you loose dramatically after a PP day is simply that there is less water retention due to lack of vegetables and carbs in diet. I don't agree that this represents your "real" weight because eating PP is not a long term natural healthy diet.

Fat free yoghurt doesn't seem to work hot, best to stir it in right at the end before serving. Quark is good for cooking, but again would add right at the end.

My favourite treat is either cottage cheese / fromage frais in liquidiser with smoked salmon (use the smoked salmon scraps you can buy from tesco), makes yummy smoked salmon cream cheese.

TooImmature2BMum · 23/06/2011 16:19

Mmm, that sounds yummy, Forever.

Drumroll please: I am back into my party frock! Okay, so it is very tight and my tummy roll is cunningly concealed under the wide skirts, but it is a size 10. Maybe I will go try my pre-pregnancy size 12 jeans on as well.

goingtogodukan · 23/06/2011 16:45

Hi all - weighed in this morning and 1lb lost... so that is 3lbs in a week which is not great considering all the hard work :(

My weight loss journey started at end of April when I was 10 stone 3 (and I am a SHORTIE so this was the biggest i had ever been except pregnancy... in fact i was 11 stone full term pregnancy which is quite worrying!)... anyways as of today am 9st 2 with a goal of 8st 7... but thinking the goal is unrealistic... goes to sob into pillow as realises that knocking on 40 years old prob has something to do with it!

I got the sweets from:
www.lowcarbmegastore.com - they are ok, better than nothing.. don't know if affecting my weight loss though

Going to give it another week and really try to get to 9 stone and then go onto consolidation cause i really need a celebration meal!!!

For something sweet Muller Light fat free black cherry sprinkled with dark chocolate is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry lovely :) :) :)

No loss today, grr! Last day of Attack, so fingers crossed for a little loss tomorrow morning. I am so looking forward to Cruise!

Going to, I am also a shortarse at 5'2" and I would love to be 9 stone 2! I am 10 stone 11 (sob). I'm working on it, though.

goingtogodukan · 24/06/2011 16:37

TooIm - Oh you would be tall next to me - I like to think I am 5ft 1 but that would be on tip toes :) - You have had a good weight loss for your attack phase though so wouldn't worry about not losing any today

I have lost half a pound, better than nothing i suppose, having said that I was naughty and didn't drink all the water yesterday, nor have i today tut tut. Would the water taste better out of a wine glass?!?!

goingtogodukan · 24/06/2011 20:25

Think I am falling off the wagon......... going to try and do a couple more days and then consolidation... i have been dieting since end april and had enough

How is everyone else going?

OP posts:
goingtogodukan · 25/06/2011 15:41

Fell off the wagon this afternoon officially with massive piece of chocolate cake and chocolate sauce. BAD girl. But to be honest i feel better for it and feel like carrying on dukaning now rather than give up so i will let myself off :)

genial · 25/06/2011 21:08

Hi.. I am re-starting attack tomorrow in order to get to my initial goal of losing 10kg.. I lost 7kg in 2 months earlier this year but fell off the Dukan wagon for a few months.
I have been pretty much stable but now have 4kg to lose to get to my goal.. so the fridge is stocked with 0% fromage frais, cold meats, chicken, steak, smoked salmon, eggs, etc etc....
I will do 2 days of attack and then add in the veggies on alternate days.
I am going on holiday in a month so I am hoping to get to goal by then!

Boo81 · 25/06/2011 22:30

goingtod - you're not alone!

I fell off the wagon big time today. Started the day off good with a yoghurt and oat bran breakfast. Did some exercise and was too busy all afternoon to fix myself some lunch. Ended up in the pub early evening and had 2 glasses of wine. Got home and was absolutely ravenous. Gorged myself on sausages, cheese and more yoghurt.

Ahhhhh....what have I done? I feel sick in my stomach now and so angry that I messed it up after 12 days of hard work. Am dreading weighing in tomorrow but need a massive kick up the butt to get me back on track.

Boo81 · 25/06/2011 22:36

Forgot about the bar of chocolate I chomped aswell Blush

goingtogodukan · 26/06/2011 08:33

Boo - hey that not too badly off the wagon - do you feel better for it?

I had even more cake yesterday afternoon, then went out on the razz with a friend, drank vodka and diet coke all night and am somehow 1lb lighter this morning.. probably dehydration but never mind Grin Mind you when i stumbled in at some ungodly hour this morning i add some ham and cottage cheese which i am very shocked at... mind you the cake was all gone Grin but suprised i didn't get toast on the go!

Do feel motivated to get back on track now which is good

Genial - 7kg is a fab weight loss - when you fell off the wagon did you put alot back on? Thats my worry all this hard work and then putting it back on!

OP posts:
genial · 26/06/2011 08:50

goingtogodukan - no, strangely enough, I have stayed pretty stable for a few months weight-wise (have no idea how!!) - at my weigh-in this morning, I have 3.5kg to lose to get to goal.. but I can see that the shape of my body is different.. after 2 months on dukan I could see that my body was lean, my stomach flat, my thighs less flabby.. but now everything is all a bit rounder, even though I haven't regained that much .. it's those damn carbs and water retention!!
Anyway, just had my oatbran with 0% fromage frais and a big glass of water for brekkie, so onwards and upwards!

TooImmature2BMum · 26/06/2011 15:13

Have fallen off the wagon with muchos Wine and gin and burgers and sausages etc. Oh well. Am going to just eat carefully today and tomorrow but not specifically Dukan, as am completely broke and can't afford to buy meat or fish. Then will start Cruising on Tuesday when I get paid. I haven't weighed myself after my excesses yet - maybe will be brave enough tomorrow morning!

fairydoll · 27/06/2011 18:58

Can I join you? It is my first day of attack today.I've got horrible tummy ache.Has anyone else experienced this?

ja9 · 27/06/2011 19:40

Are muller lights allowed? All flavours.... seems sus.... i've cracked open a choc orange one but it seems wrong to eat it...

fairydoll · 27/06/2011 19:52

I don't think they are allowed because they have sugar as well as sweetener and some of them have fruit.I thought fruit wasn't allowed in yogs?

ja9 · 27/06/2011 21:21

do they have fruit? i thought they'd have been classed as the flavoured yoghurt... but was unsure about the sugar / sweetener thing

Boo81 · 28/06/2011 08:55

Hello! I've been a bit absent the last few days, sorry!

After my binge on high-fat foods on saturday and got back on the wagon on sunday. Was doing really well until DP brought me home a chocolate bar. I just couldn't resist it and stuffed it down my throat before I even had a chance to think! That was my only bad eating on sunday though, so I didn't let it ruin the rest of my day.

Am properly back Dukaning since yesterday with no slip-ups! Have been on this diet for 2 weeks now so just looking back at my original stats and goals:

Starting weight (4 weeks ago): 13st 5lbs
Starting dukan weight (2 weeks ago): 13st 3lbs
Target weight for wedding (15/7/11): 12st
Target weight for 30th birthday (17/8/11): 11st

As of this morning I am 12st 10lbs. I am really going to stay strict this week and ramp up the exercise aswell as I have a mini-goal of 12st 7lbs by the weekend.

How are the oldies goingto and TooImm doing? And welcome all the newbies! I do eat yoghurts like muller-lite and the fat-free onken ones. But I limit them to one small pot/ 3 tbsp a day and the rest of the time I eat fat-free fromage frais with sweetener. I sometimes mix in fat-free chocolate powder for a different taste, mmmmmm.

ja9 · 28/06/2011 19:22

thanks, have done a bit more reading and it seems that the vanilla or toffee ones are probably fine (NOT the choc orange - boo!!). But as they come in big pots should be careful about how much of them you eat... think i'll aim for half a one a day, but have to admit to gobbling one when i came back from tesco before i'd even unpacked the shopping. Dont think it even touched the sides Blush.

goingtogodukan · 29/06/2011 20:32

Hi newbies and oldies!

All ok here - got back on the wagon after my weekend - I have to say i do eat all the muller lights except the just fruit ones - and i eat 2 a day Blush

I am down to 9st 1 which i am pleased with - all my clothes are soooooo much looser which feels so good - a few months ago i was bursting out of everything and it felt GROSS!!!!

Going to weigh in again tomorrow - i only weight in after a protein only day - not after a protein and veg day

Boo thats great going and great weight loss.. i think its no problem to have the occassional treat. i am going out on sat night and will be on teh vodka and diet coke again - looking forward to it!

TooIm how are you going??

OP posts:
goingtogodukan · 30/06/2011 21:00

Oh dear, i jumped off the wagon again tonight - slice of pizza, crisps, half bottle of wine and four seriously chocolate biscuits. Yum! Back on wagon tomorrow though :)
