Solo I love the next title!

Dingdong well done thats ace!

Niecie dejunking this house would take more than a weekend perhaps I should schedule it in - thats lots of exercise!

Thank you for all the thoughts for BabyFlo she is managing very well. Its officially an undisplaced fracture of her left clavicle. And apparently should only take 2 or 3 weeks to heal. She is being very brave and the sling helps no end.

And me well it's official I love Paul! I have lost 4lb. I have really been fannying about since Christmas if honest, bit off, bit on, lots of staying the same - but this week yay :) Last night I was so exhausted I flaked out with the cd on and didnt wake at the end so not sure how effective that was lol and the night before didnt have a moment to listen so really determined to get back into the swing now.

I love this thread and was a sceptic before. So thank you :)

onesandwichshort · 27/05/2011 13:51

Hello everyone,

Not only is this thread moving very quickly but my life seems to be performing the same trick too, so haven't been around very much. And then it's half term and we have people to stay and then we are going on holiday and it just goes on and on and on... I would love some peace and quiet to think about eating, and PMcK and so on but have no idea when it will ever happen.

But I am here and reading, and so love to BabyFlo and willpower vibes to those who need them right now (this includes me btw) and well done to Ding Dong! Also, Fab, I thought your post was great too. I think the honesty is one of the things that makes this thread so good.

TheOriginalFAB · 27/05/2011 14:00

Thank you OSS Smile.

BsshBossh · 27/05/2011 14:12

In the spirit of honesty, I'm currently drinking a big mug of strong, delicious coffee in order to combat mouth hunger. Willpower alone is not going to work against "mouth hunger" right this minute so rather than reach for the chocolate biscuit that I'm not hungry for, I've reached for the Brew.

Ephiny · 27/05/2011 14:48

I wanted to ask actually about drinks - on most diets it's considered a good thing to drink lots and lots of water, but it doesn't seem in keeping with the Paul principles to force down water when you don't feel you need/want it. Is it better to just drink when you're thirsty and stop when you're not any more?

Interestingly I just had my usual cup of tea after lunch, and started to feel a bit over-full about half-way through it, should I have left the rest? Did sip it slowly and enjoy the taste and warmth though, instead of gulping it down as usual. Maybe I should get some dainty little tea-cups instead of the big mugs!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 27/05/2011 15:06

Ephiny he doesn't seem worried about drinks really. I'm really thirsty at the moment because I'm BFing, so perhaps not the best person to ask - but at the initial feelings of hunger I am assuming thirst and having a drink first, and then waiting to see if I'm actually hungry. A lot of the time I am not.

TheOriginalFAB · 27/05/2011 17:09

I have been drinking more water for the last few months and now I will drink water before eating something to check if really I am just thirsty. Quite often water is enough.

JuicyOlive · 27/05/2011 17:20

Hello all

florencecrusty I've been fannying about too, but I am sort of happy and relaxed with my food, and at least I'm not putting any on.

I made myself the most amazing Gazpacho for lunch today - so easy to bung the veg into the liquidiser and it felt like eating pure vitamins. Really energising.

I seem to be breaking my daily lunchtime Diet Coke habit too. Used to be fairly addicted and now I can take it or leave it.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 27/05/2011 17:26

I think the thing he touched on was to drink more water though.

Flo I'm so glad that you've lost your 4lbs and are now a convert :) also glad you like the next title (assuming that everyone agrees/approves of course!) and sorry to have put you off your breakfast Niecie Blush
Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm still coughing well and the Dc's are still unwell, though Ds is much better than he was.

I'm doing Ok eating ways, but seem to be quite hungry today for some reason.

Catch you all soon.

I have just had my first hunger induced major grump with DD2. Sad Whenever I have been "Dieting" in the past it would be a regular occurrence daily, but this is my first one in the 6 weeks i have been doing this. THe problem today is that we have been setting up for a fundraising afternoon that DD2 is holding tomorrow, so moving a million chairs about and lugging tables around, and I am going out tonight with my sisters and brother for a meal, so I have not wanted to eat too much all afternoon so that I know i am properly hungry at 8pm. I think I tried to ignore the hungry feeling for too long and am now just grumpy and snappy! Blush

DottyDot · 27/05/2011 19:51

Hello everyone! Can I just ask - does anyone else go a bit dizzy when listening to the CD? I've started listening to it in bed at night - only a couple of times so far but the first time (and on the bus previously) I went a bit spinny/dizzy and both nights I've zonked out way before the end of the CD, which is unusual for me as I usually take at least an hour to fall asleep.

So it's kind of good in that I'm fast asleep within 15 - 20 mins of switching it on, but the dizziness is weird and I'm also getting weird dreams?! Confused

ho hum - doing OK though - just not sure if any of the CD is seeping into my subconscious..!

Also, bottle of wine tonight which probably isn't the best thing - but after this week at work I neeeeeeded it... Grin

BsshBossh · 27/05/2011 19:57

Okay, something very interesting is happening. I've been Pauling for coming up to 13 weeks now (next weigh in next week - week 14) and I've only just observed this about my eating habits: DH and I eat late dinners because he comes back from work around 8.30-ish so I'm generally not hungry at breakfast time. So, even Pauling, I still ate a little at breakfast (habit? to keep me going through a busy morning?). Then lunch around 1.30pm then I get the munchies (not generally driven by genuine hunger) around 5pm.

The last week I've not been eating breakfast - being very tough on myself to only eat when physically very hungry. This means I'm not eating until 12-ish pm and I'm genuinely managing not to eat again until around 8.30-ish (though beginning to get hunger pangs from 7.30). The munchies have disappeared and if I get mouth hunger then a Brew satisfies.

God, I'm rambling. What I'm saying is when I eat according to genuine physical hunger and only eat when genuinely hungry, I end up eating less over the course of the day.

Interesting and baffling.

BsshBossh · 27/05/2011 20:02

solo, I Grin at your thread title but personally I do find it a little [gross emoticon] because I don't actually like Paul McKenna Shock per se. And it might put off other non-Pauling converts, IYSWIM. Excellent and funny title, but may put many people off joining the thread? Just my opinion Smile.

florencerusty · 27/05/2011 20:43

arghhhhh hungry is striking :(

Niecie · 27/05/2011 21:04

Eat something then, maybe? Why is that a problem - are you going out or eating later? You don't have to eat much.

I have the opposite problem. Had a piece of millionaires shortcake for tea (as well as pasta). I have had enough but the chocolate taste is lingering, no not even the taste, the feel of it, and now I want more even though I'm not hungry.

Better go and read to DS to take my mind off it. A bit of Harry Potter might help!

Seriously, Florence, you can eat if you are hungry. Thems the rules. Smile

florencerusty · 27/05/2011 21:20

I've eaten already though and now succumbed to ice cream

SoloIsAHotCougar · 28/05/2011 01:28

Ah! yes BsshBossh a little double entrendre on my part there and not great if you feel grossed out by it I'm sure. But we are going down on PMK ~ down in weight on the pmk plan? no?

Anyway, it's only the start of this thread right now, so you are safe for now BB.

I've been hungry tonight...annoying!

Totally off thread(well not FULLY) Blush Grin Does anyone know if P.M. has a partner?

ppeatfruit · 28/05/2011 09:07

getting back on plan today after the most delicious meal for our anniversary yesterday, the best profiteroles ever! i HAD to overeat!!

PositiveAttitude · 28/05/2011 09:30

Happy anniversary Ppeat. Smile PM could hypnotise any female (or male - not sure which way he swings Confused ) and get them to be in love with him.

HAd a meal out last evening. I chose a chicken and bacon baguette with potato wedges and stopped before I was half way through it all. No pudding Shock you wont understand what a humungous step that is for me!!! Grin In the past I cant remember having a meal out without a sweet. If no-one else was having one I would come home and have a cake because to me, a meal wasnt finished until I had something sweet. I just didnt want it and I did not feel as if I had missed out at all!!

Another tester today. I am going to be baking cakes and then serving them all afternoon at a fundraiser for my DD2 gap year. (working with a mission charity for a year)

SoloIsAHotCougar · 28/05/2011 10:03

I believe he's married pp. Erm...... why???

SoloIsAHotCougar · 28/05/2011 10:04

OF not if.

OP posts:
JuicyOlive · 28/05/2011 10:19

I thought he wasn't married but not sure where I got that impression.

Anyway he swore like a good MNer trooper throughout the seminar and my impression is that he wouldn't be offended by such a thread title. I do get the point about it possibly putting off a small percentage of new recruits to the thread.

Solo - havent you -er- got your hands full already?

Niecie · 28/05/2011 10:20

ppeat Happy anniversary for yesterday. Hope you enjoyed you meal. Smile
In answer to your question re PM and relationships, I am pretty sure that he is a bit of a ladies man and doesn't stick with anybody long. In fact I found this on a very quick google. I think he went out with Penny Smith (the breakfast telly woman) but I am pretty sure there have been other high profile girlfriends.
